In the past, and present, there have been monastics that drew the faithful due to their dedication, holiness, wisdom, and prayers.

Are there any currently in the United States?
You actually have quite a few, thanks to the efforts of Elder Ephraim. When we were in the States to visit our daughter, my wife and I spent a few days at the monastery in Arizona, which is like an oasis in the middle of the desert (from both a physical and spiritual perspective). The Russians have also established a number of monasteries and I presume other jurisdictions have also. From what I understand, only the Antiochians have failed to establish a monastic presence in the U.S.

the only antiochian monastery I know of - and there may be more - is Ladyminster. https://www.ladyminster.com/

We have a lot of monasteries in our jurisdiction. The Serbs, I think, are bringing a new one to Tennessee.

I'm thinking more of well known individuals.

Has Elder Ephraim reposed? He is the most well known individual monastic that I can think of.

Elder Ephraim and Fr Seraphim Rose would be two off the top of my head. Fr Sergius of St Tikhon's is another.
Have you read Fr Sergius book, "Acquiring the Mind of Christ"? It's been on my to-read list for a while after listening to one of his talks on youtube "10 minute spirituality"

oh cool, did you go to St Tikhon's or does he teach elsewhere? I want to go spend a few days up there sometime but it's hard for me to plan far enough in advance for that, plus a bit of a far drive from me

He was very frail when I saw him at the beginning of this year, but is still with us in the flesh as far as I know.

As he gets older would another Elder come from Mt. Athos to become the spiritual father of all of the monasteries under his guidance here in the US, or would one of the monks step up that are already in the US?

The elder has pretty much already handed over the reins in all the monasteries he established. Each monastery is under its own spiritual elder.

I think that they should try to put a Monastery in Utah next.

Recently, there was an Orthodox Church placed in Saint George Utah with Fr. Justin who I believe is an Antiochian Orthodox Priest :

I would say that Abbot Tryphon of All-Merciful Saviour Monastery on Vashon Island, WA is such a person. Through his work on Ancient Faith Radio, he is well known by a multitude of people.
