“And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”
Revelation 5:6 KJV
So what are the 7 Spirits of God? We actually find the answer in the book of Isaiah:
“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;”
Isaiah 11:1-2 KJV
We as Trinitarians believe that the Holy Spirit is God. My questions are:
-why is “the Spirit of the Lord” mentioned along with 6 other spirits in Isaiah?
-Is the Holy Spirit different from “the Spirit of the Lord”?
-How do we reconcile these 7 spirits, when we recognize only one of the 7?
