Ok, so the whistleblower was a member of the intelligence agencies who heard a ‘promise’ Trump gave to a foreign leader, and was so concerned they made a whistleblower complaint. This complaint is now being withheld from congress.
This is looking like a big deal.

The Post reported that an official in the American intelligence community was so bothered by a "promise" Trump had made while communicating with a foreign leader that the official filed a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general of the intelligence community, according to two former US officials familiar with the matter. CNN has not confirmed the detail about the "promise."
It is unclear to whom Trump was speaking at the time.

Some gossip that it might be about Ukraine and an alleged promise of help if they opened a new investigation into Biden. Inspector general has apparently told congress the complaint covers ‘more than one’ incident though.

However, some reports allege that Mr Trump asked [Ukrainian president] Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter - who previously served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company - in return for continued US military support.
Sounds like asking a foreign power for election assistance, or at least furthering a petty political agenda, using the US military as coin.

Someone in Trump's orbit is accused of something - probably fake news, if not Trump knew nothing about it.
Anything at all to do with the Clintons or the Obamas (now also includes the FBI and anyone else who isn't a full-on Trumper 24/7)
Might seem like a joke, but this is actually how many people see this kind of thing. It may well win out as a world-view in certain corners of the globe.
