How Many Senate Republicans Would Vote For Impeachment In February 2021?

In January or February 2021, almost every Democrat would support a impeachment conviction in the Senate. How many Republicans would prefer to start a first term for Pence instead of a 2nd term for Trump?

Trump's cronies could do little to any Republican Senators until the 2022 primaries.

Impeachment for what though? I haven't heard of any valid convictions against Donald. Maybe I missed it? There needs to be a valid reason to do so, not, "oh he says words that hurt my feelings".

Haven't you heard? Orange Man has all kinds of evil policies that are barely distinguishable from those of Clinton-era Democrats and yet ran as a Republican. He's got to go!

I think younger Republicans would vote for it bc its better for their career longevity. Nobody in 20 yrs is gonna wanna be seen as having been complicit with Trump. Older ppl nah, no way. He could shoot somebody in the middle of 5th Ave & they'd still support him.

Why? For the Trump/Russia conspiracy theory?

I guess the answer to the question you posed in your title depends upon the Republicans who can muster up the courage to grow a backbone and stand up to Trump, as well as being willing to work hard in restoring the severely damaged reputation of the Republican Party amidst the aftermath of Donald Trump and his turbulent administration. As far as pursuing an impeachment for Trump or the crimes he could be charged with after he leaves office, the following articles address these issues.

Mueller said Trump could be indicted once he leaves office

The 5 crimes Mueller suggests Trump could be charged with

yup you missed it

There is little question that Trump can and would be impeached. The question is how many Republicans would vote to convict.

But again, for what?
And if there's little question that he'd be impeached, then why doesn't Pelosi believe that? Clearly, there is question about whether he would be impeached or not. The votes are just not there.

In 2019, Republicans Senate would NOT vote to convict. Trump would destroy them. In 2021, President Pence would treat those who voted for impeachment very well indeed.

None, that would amount to anything... even Pence knows Trump is the best president for the time.

Oooookay. Again, for what?
I am not going to list the 20-30 articles of impeachment that will be voted on.

And, no I haven't the time for these discussion. There are at least
10 sets of charges involving obstruction as detailed in Mueller report
many incidents of Trump receiving money in his businesses from foreign governments
two incidents of paying former lovers, already found to be a crime, and he as the #1
cooperating with foreign governments who supported his campaign (not illegal)
lots of financial disclosure misstatements (which are crimes)
lots of illegal actions by his companies (much of this is being investigated in NY state courts)

And so much more that we still don't know (and perhaps never will, and never should). These involve investigations of actions investigated by the FBI that involved national security, and not reported on. Some in contained grand jury testimony.

Trump and his companies will be in legal troubles for at least the next decade. IMO, he should not be impeached by the Senate before the election. If Trump loses, he would likely end up in jail with a couple of years. However, if Trump wins, then the Senate Republicans will have a choice to make.

Oooookay. Still, you haven't mentioned ONE thing he was convicted on that gives valid reason for impeachment.

For example, the Muller thing democrats just can't let go of. If there was reason to convict, Muller would have done it. The FBI is clearly bias to go after donald. So if there were something to tie donald to, they would have done it.

Again, which VALID reason for an impeachment are we talking about? A actual conviction. They do not have one yet that I can see and know of.

The reason you dont have time to do it, is because there is no VALID conviction yet.

Edit: I thought this country runs on "innocent until proven guilty"? When did it become the other way around?

The OP is asking what the vote to impeach might be, not what the case would be. People’s reasons for voting one way or another likely differ.

Unless there's an actual reason ... the Senate will not convict.

Also, unless there's an actual reason ... the House will NOT even begin an impeachment inquiry, much less vote to impeach.

None. McConnell would never allow it to come to the floor.

I don’t think McConnell would be able to stop this. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court would preside over the proceedings so I think he would Have the gavel, not McConnell.
