There i said it. I dont want something that God has given me. I want to be in full communion with God and I wish my freewill were taken away! I would much rather be like an Angel that the Lord commands then a pitiful sinful human being that stumbles and thinks he is something. I dont understand what is so special about Freewill exactly. I cant love and live without it? I dont want Freewill. If I pray enough to the Lord. :prayer:

Well, you chose to write all that.

I get frustrated with myself and my sinful nature, too. But I have to choose to obey God every day, and choose to repent when I fail. It's just part of this life that we're in.

I hear you. It is tough to live with ourselves.

But God does love you, Cement.

Here is a talk, given by a priest to a community of nuns, but applicable on some level, I think, to every Christian;

In spite of our sinfulness, littleness, nothingness, poverty, foolishness, tendency to wander and sin, and complete lack of anything useful to give back to Him, He still died for us, and loves us so much, and humbly calls our hearts His home.

What an immense and incredible gift.... we do not deserve it. We do not love Him as we should. Yet, still, He loves us, calls us, and saves us. And uses us, too, often in ways that are unnoticed by us. Do not lose hope, Cement.

"If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." (in Luke 9:23)

If I deny myself, does my self include my own free will?

"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

"Therefore submit to God." (in James 4:7)

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

This means constantly submitting to how God has me be and what He has me doing. I do not have time to stop and make up my mind about if I will to do something or not. Because I am flowing with God and how He at each moment takes me. I am discovering, by the moment, not choosing. I don't have time to be thinking and praying about what He will do with me, at each moment, in His peace. Plus, He keeps bringing us to better than what we could have thought about and chosen, doesn't He ?

Angels also have free will. What you are really saying is "I don't want to be responsible, just a robot."

I am responsible why do you assume that just because I stumble i want my responsibility taken from me? There have been many times in my life where God prevented me from making a wrong choice that helped me greatly. He personally interfered into my Freewill at times but did that make me into a robot?

Glory to God. I hear you, friend. I feel the same way, often. Especially today, today felt very difficult. But God does not give up on us. He does not stop loving us, and saving us, and helping us. And conforming us to the image of His Son.

Yes it just feels like one day I am full of the spirit and can do anything in him but then the night dawns and the next day i wake up feeling exhausted and there is a mountain I have yet to climb and each step I take feels like a century and by my side Satan is watching, whispering that it not worth the climb because it doesn't matter anyway. I hope that I can be more spirit filled and do things so flawlessly and with his full help that I can say this is just tooo easy tooo light tooo effortless hehe even now as im tying this im feeling stronger again thank you!

To be pragmatic, the struggle against sin is ongoing. It's a climb upwards, but we can and will and do stumble. We can not become sinless in this life, but we can become more and more willing to obey God's Will, follow Christ, cling to Him, and love Him. And love others. It's a journey. But it's a journey that God is guiding you on, by His grace. He is there for you. And loves you. And if you are willing, yes, it will get easier!

Why can't you enjoy your freewill to love God with all your heart?

In what way do you "stumble"? If you don't want to stumble read 2 Peter 1.

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

yup as a ancient Chinese proverb says A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. the falls hurt but thats where we must help one another. I have no doubt we will all be at the summit smiling. Most of my past struggles are in fact gone! I feel so much more confident in the Lord then I did two years ago and I have no doubt I will continue to improve.

We can and will sin. But Christ's love for us, and His Mercy, will sustain us, help us, grow us, bring us closer to Him, and help us to become more like Him, if we rely on Him, and draw near to Him. It's a daily walk, friend. God be with you! Don't give up.

What came to my mind after reading this is
1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Be comforted that you are in good company as even the Apostles struggled the same as us.

thank you for this. there were times where God would reward me for walking firmly in the faith. As its written.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11

I hear you. So many times in my life, I wished I was an angel so there is no risk of messing up and going to hell. Also, it must be nice to be free from pain, disease, and death we face in this world.

Reminds me of that Jesus Take the Wheel song.

It has nice sentiments but if you really throw up your hands Jesus doesn't take the wheel. Instead your car will go off the road and into a flipping tree.

But yes I can totally relate. I would love to give back my free will. Never asked for it. I don't want it anymore. It just gives me trouble.

I dont want something that God has given me.
So you know better than God, is that what you are saying?

God gave you the ability to make choices and you don't want that ability.

In life do we celebrate the guy who sits on his backside doing nothing or do we celebrate the guy who despite enormous problem achieves something.

Which are you.

or if you prefer read the p[arable of the talents where one man got ten, another five and one got one. Two guys used those talents and the last sat on his backside doing nothing.
How did that parable end?
