Today I am grateful for... (4)

We had storms all around us and on top of us last night. The main events involved winds of 70-80 mph, lightning, hail, and flooding. There are many people who will be without electricity for an unknown period of time, including my daughter and her large family. They got a hotel room, but there are many things to be concerned about. We're making arrangements to move their freezer into our garage until this is over. I don't know how much of their other food can be saved.

We have a small 1200 square foot town house, but we're making plans to be able to help more in the future. I'm using one room as an office, and we think there might be room there for a hide-a-bed. Regardless, we're going to help more in the future with sleeping arrangements in emergencies. I give thanks that nobody was killed in the storms. I also give thanks that my family is safe and unharmed.

Praise God that no-one was killed and that your family were unhurt, Tom. I pray that the electricity will be reconnected soon and that there is minimal inconvenience with it being off.

It sounds like a good idea to get a hide-a-bed for such occasions.

I give thanks for my brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ. I wish that more Christians understood that all Saved people are members of a Church not made with human hands - The Church which is the body of Christ.

Romans 12:5 KJV So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Colossians 3:15-17 KJV And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

I had an accident in my wheelchair yesterday afternoon. I give thanks that I wasn't hurt badly. Instead, I just have some aches and pains - nothing broken. The wheelchair is bent up pretty badly, so I might have to buy a new one.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident Tom; that must have been a bit alarming. However I give thanks that you were not seriously hurt: thank you Lord! :bow:

It does my heart good to know that I have brothers and sisters from around the world, and I love the deep bond which exists between those of us who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour.

What I have is borrowed, so I might have to buy two wheelchairs. I'm going to check with insurance and medicare before I do anything else. I still have some swelling in my feet from impact, but I still don't think anything is broken. Thanks for the prayers.

For joyshirley's post, quoted above, because without it I wouldn't have found the earlier Gaither Vocal Band members. Although I really like the current (and all the other) ones it is Mark, Michael, David, Guy and Wes who are my favourites, as well as Bill of course, who seems to have done a wonderful job mentoring these guys over the years.
