Sounds like you jealous of his Money........Sorry I won't say more.

Probably true to some degree, but I’m more frustrated by how little he’s done with all that money than I am by the fact that he has it in the first place. For all of Don Sr’s clownish behavior, at least he has a knack for certain things that I can appreciate. But Don Jr and his siblings all seem like walking sacks of uninspired, unmotivated mediocrity, comfortably ensconced in the positions daddy has bestowed upon them, and entitled to everything he’s bought them.

With all that money, he can afford to take some interesting or creative risks or to do a ton of good. Instead, he does what?

Yeah that's what they all say, you would probably blow it all within a year, or less.

$1b invested in t-bonds would yield around $17.5m/yr in interest income, or about $2,000/hr, 24/7, forever. That’s enough money to where I’d probably run into a Brewster’s Millions scenario wherein I couldn’t physically spend it that quickly.

But Brewster didn't have half of the ways we can spend money these days.

He was so covered in dust, you will probably never be able to recognize him.
Oh, yes, of course. That’s why there are no pictures of him being the brave hero. Bet he was glad to get home so he could get in his golden bath tub. He should give himself a medal for his sacrifice.

Wouldn't GREAT be relative to one's Socioeconomic status?
My bad. I mistakenly thought Trump was talking about America being Great, not just the Chosen One American.

If you worked in Detroit for Ford in the Hay Day, making $35.00 an Hr. when I was making $3.00 then things started going south because of the Gas crisis in the mid 70's, and then Japan's rise in power in the Auto industry, then things like NAFTA, finally with the Crash in 08.

How would you feel today when things are doing so good again?

While I on the other hand have survived low these many years on a lot less that most, but things are now better for me than they were in the Hay Day.

I'm not someone to put people down for not serving in the army. After all, neither did I. Did civil service instead (and hated every minute of it). I think that not wanting to trudge through a hostile jungle and get shot at while contending with tropical diseases and fortunate son blaring in the background is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

If things are going so well, why do american parents have to work 3 jobs each to support their family?

You guys have work, it just doesn't pay.

It's called I gotta have syndrome, when people see things they just gotta have it, so they take out their Credit Card and buy, buy, buy to their hearts content, then they have to work 3 jobs just to pay all of those bills.

I am retired, I am considered to be below the Poverty line, but I am living better now than when I was working, I own my home, I owe nobody for anything, (Debt free) My car is older but runs real good, and when it does need to be fixed I will fix it and keep driving it, I budget, I have money in Savings and Checking, I buy what I want, when I want, but I never go into debt, (Never).

People just need to have to many things and it costs them dearly, they could live a lot cheaper than they do, they just wont, I do not feel sorry for anyone bogged down in debt, unless it is Medical that isn't under our control, but everything else is.

People need to learn to say NO to their Kids and Themselves.

Sure we have work, and it does pay well, it's just that people do not know how to control their buying urges, and to budget themselves, no excuse for the 3 jobs - - - -!

How is your health care covered?

The reason I ask is because with a house that’s paid for and being retired, I’m guessing Medicare is helping your health care needs so the two biggest constant expenses people face each month, housing and health care, you don’t have to pay (or pay very little). If you give everyone that situation a lot of people would not be facing their current financial strain.

Put a house payment or rent and full cost of health care on to your budget. Would you still be living fine? That house is your goose that lays golden eggs and is why you are doing ok financially. Not everyone has that and some don’t have the ability in their current financial situation to save for a down payment to get one.

The difference between you and them is you don’t have the one or two biggest line items in your budget that they do. It isn’t because they are irresponsibly spending money.
