Daniel 9
Gabriel focus is on the Jerusalem. Biblical end time prophecy is Jerusalem centric. The prophetic calendar will only unfold when Jerusalem is in the land.

Verse 25
Starts off positive
(Israel has been captive) Talks about restoration of Jerusalem, the coming of Messiah. There will be 7 weeks and after a 'big thing's happen, the Messiah will come to Jerusalem.

However, they will kill the Messiah and even though Jewish scholar knows this message, they still killed Jesus.

Verse 27
2000 years after the Messiah is killed, suddenly Jerusalem becomes a nation. Then there is a man (Antichrist) is going to make a covenant with Israel and many nations. Part of the covenant is they get to rebuild the temple and do the sacrifice that Moses commanded them. 3.5 years later(middle of 7weeks) , Antichrist will break the deal. (abomination of desolation)

Antichrist will take the place of the holy of holies and demand people to worship him as god.

All prophecy is Christ-centric. (Revelation 19:10)

The word "antichrist" does not appear in Daniel 9:27 or anywhere else in the OT. There is in fact no word for "antichrist" in ancient Hebrew.

Daniel 9:24-27 is about Christ.

who is the pompous one in Daniel 7 : who is the prince to come who puts and end to the daily sacrifice after Messiah has been cut off and the temple destroyed? this would require s 3rd temple for him to commit the abomination of desolation. We are watching these events come to pass in real time.

Did you forget about the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is the "covenant with the many" in Matthew 26:28?

There is only one individual in Daniel 9 identified as a prince.

He is Messiah.

You ever considered that the 70 weeks may have actually been a literal 70 weeks?

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

There are 70 weeks between the death of John the Baptist and Pentecost.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

There are 7 weeks between the resurrection and Pentecost.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

There are threescore and two weeks between the death of John the Baptist and the crucifixion.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Starting the Friday before the crucifixion, we have Mary anointing the feet of Jesus. He stats that she has reserved this against the day of my burial. This is the commencement of "the great tribulation". (John 12:1)

Tuesday after sundown an anonymous woman pours oil over Jesus's head. He says: "She'd done this for my burial." This commences the 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth. This is also "the middle of the week" that the Messiah is cut off, because sundown marks the commencement of a day. So the pouring of the oil on Jesus head is actually happening on Wednesday. (Mark 14)

This has to do with the atonement (I.E. the wrath of God; this is the commencement of the severance of the Son from the rest of the Godhead. As we note in this time span between Tuesday post sundown to the Passover, Jesus becomes more and more "emotionally unglued" and this is why. He's being forsaken.

At midnight of Passover, Jesus is confronted with an angel in Gethsemane. (Luke 22) This is the angel of death, who was to pass through the land and kill the first born. The angel of death removes the breath of life. The breath of life is what makes men living souls. This action confined Jesus's soul to Sheol. Jesus didn't die though because He had a Divine nature. If you note how Jesus acts from the point of being confronted with this angel until He dies, there's no emotion.

The passage in Luke says the angel "strengthens" Jesus; which this could be interpreted two different ways. One, meaning the angel brings a show of force against Him; or that the removal of the soul gives Him the strength He needs to complete the task. Both interpretations would be accurate.

This is how the "great tribulation" is "cut short". It's cut short by a little less than a day. Because if it wasn't cut short, no flesh would be saved. Now why would no flesh be saved if it wasn't "cut short"?

In Jeremiah 25, it describes the nations going insane for drinking the cup of God's wrath. From Tuesday night until the Passover Jesus probably had not slept. Emotional stress and no sleep eventually cause human beings to go into psychosis. This happens because lack of sleep causes hallucinations. This is a byproduct of lack of REM sleep. Lack of REM sleep is why schizophrenics hallucinate. The hallucinations cause further emotional distress because the person can't tell what's real and what isn't.

So, consigning Jesus's soul to Sheol was a mercy to both Him and us (although I have no idea what it would be like to exist without a soul?) Jesus at that point, would have been what lore calls a "zombie". But obviously since mortals can't survive without souls; "zombificaton" is impossible. Yet because Jesus had a Divine nature, his body was still functioning because God can not die. Now what His soul was experiencing, His flesh didn't know, although His Divine nature did; because His Divine nature was omniscient. So the emotion the Divine nature felt was not felt by the flesh, because the soul was not present. Now what did Jesus's soul do in Sheol. It preached to the captives by pleading His innocence as not being a sinner. He pled to God that God honor His justice that Jesus's soul be released because of His own personal righteousness. And God, not being able to deny His own nature eventually did this.

So Jesus goes through His trials and crucifixion with no soul; yet on account of the Divine nature obviously maintains morality. Now if Jesus soul had remained in His flesh, He probably would have gone into psychosis and the Romans would not have crucified Him because Pilate would have deemed Him insane. Either that or He would have plead to the Father to go back to heaven. Which the Father would have honored, and that would have been the end. So that is my hypothesis as to why "no flesh would be saved" if the tribulation wasn't cut short.

Now what actually kills Jesus body is the severance of the Divine nature from the flesh.

This interpretation of these passages in Danial makes the most contextual and historical sense.

Jesus was crucified in 33 AD and we know this because 33 AD is the only year of possible candidates where the Passover fell on a Thursday into a Friday. The Scripture is very clear. Jesus was crucified on a Friday.

Jesus was born in the fall of 7 BC and 7 BC to spring of 33 AD would have made Jesus 6 months shy of turning 40.

The events that set into motion the setting up of the abomination that makes desolate were set in motion from the time the angel came to John the Baptist's father while in the temple. That was the first communication to Israel from God since the last prophet of the Old Testament Scripture had declared his prophecy. This was likely Passover of 8 BC.

Herod's reconstruction of the temple had commenced in 19 BC. Herod totally tore done the temple that had been built by Ezra and completed his temple in 9 BC. So 8 BC would have been the first passover where it was "open for business". And obviously the angel appearing to John's father was a public event and Herod the Great would have been aware of it.

So Herod is sitting on this information for 3.5 years. (1290 days) Within this time span the magi come into Jerusalem and they are the public announcement of the birth of the Messiah to the nation of Israel. Note: these are gentile kings!

Herod in his attempt to kill Jesus, sets up the abomination that makes desolate. Herod is the "king who understands dark sayings" in Daniel 8.

Fast forward 40 years. When Jesus dies; who proclaims He was the son of God? It was the centurion at the crucifixion. The centurion was the top ranking Roman official present at this execution. He issued the "death certificate" officially reporting to Pilate that the condemned were actually dead. Note: Again, who declares to Israel who their Messiah is? A gentile authority!

So, there you go. There's my blurb on the 70 weeks of Daniel 9!

Since we need to use Scripture to interpret Scripture - I don't believe that fits.

Daniel 9:2 ~ in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the books according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet that the number of years for the desolation of Jerusalem would be 70.

Jeremiah 25:11 ~ This whole land will become a desolate ruin, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon for 70 years.

Seven is a number of completion and perfection, and Leviticus 25:8–12 most likely informed Daniel’s understanding of Gabriel’s message:

Leviticus 25:8-9 ~
"You are to count seven sabbatic years, seven times seven years, so that the time period of the seven sabbatic years amounts to 49.
Then you are to sound a trumpet loudly in the seventh month, on the tenth [day] of the month; you will sound it throughout your land on the
Day of Atonement.
You are to consecrate the fiftieth year and
proclaim freedom in the land for all its inhabitants. It will be your Jubilee, when each of you is to return to his property and each of you to his clan.
The fiftieth year will be your Jubilee; you are not to sow, reap what grows by itself, or harvest its untended vines.
It is to be holy to you because it is the Jubilee; you may [only] eat its produce [directly] from the field.

This is an interesting idea. I need to process it a bit (a LOT) more.....but could it mean there's a layered prophecy here in the weeks/years? I believe Herod most definitely KNEW Jesus' birth was about to happen (and fulfill the prophecies of the Messiah) or else he wouldn't have ordered the death of the male babies during the time of Jesus' birth.

I'm confused about your timeline, though. I understood Jesus to have been born around 3-4 BC (and isn't that due to the adjustment of calendars - Jewish lunar to ....is it our Julian calendar?). As I understand it - Nisan 14 fell on a Friday, Preparation Day, twice: on April 7 of 30 AD and April 3 of 33 AD (Table 179, Jack Finegan, The Handbook of Biblical Chronology (Revised Edition; Peabody, Mass.: Hendrickson Publishers, 1998) ISBN 1-56563-143-9) - but then I've read this as well:

The Wednesday April 25 (Nissan 14) 31 AD date works best. The Women knew there was a roman soldier watch for three days at the tomb so they would NOT have gone there on Friday but after the weekly Sabbat as they did. Furthermore, John the Baptist began his ministry in the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar (Lucas 3:1). Tiberius became Caesar (emperor) to the death of Augustus Caesar the August 17 of the 14 C. E. The first year of his ascension to the throne of Caesar from 17 August until Rosh Hashana (October 13 of the 14 C. E. ) and so on we have 15 years until the 27 C. E. If we speculate that John began his ministry in the Rosh Hashana (Festival of Trumpets), this has much prophetic sense as the ten days of awe or reflection until the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) are very much in agreement with the preaching of John the Baptist. If Y’shua was baptized shortly after Rosh Hashana in the 27 C. E. this meets perfectly with the prophecy of the prophet Daniel for the three and a half years, half of the week “years” (Daniel 9:26 ) , forty and two months, 1260 days of the Messiah’s ministry.

I just came across this (and have never heard/read about this belief before today, but it makes sense to me right now):

Quoting Ed Stevens:
"Good Friday" is commonly understood to be the day on which Jesus Christ was crucified. It was a "good" day for mankind when "the Lamb of God" died to "take away the sin of the world", that "whosoever BELIEVETH in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 1:29; 3:16). It is a bad thing to make Friday the day of this event for in that case the Lord rose from the dead after being in the grave but one night and one day! That He would rise from the dead "the third day" is affirmed over twelve times in Scripture. Thus "good Friday" time-setting has caused some to doubt the full inspiration of the Bible. We read in Mark 8:31 as follows:

"And He began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests and of the scribes, and be killed, and AFTER THREE DAYS rise again."

Furthermore, our Lord declared that "As Jonah was THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the whale's belly SO ALSO shall the Son of man be THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the earth" (Matt. 12:40. See also Jonah 1:17).

"He that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son" (I John 5:10).

Thus we see it is a serious matter to uphold this error of so-called "Good Friday". Since Christ said He would be in the grave fully three days and three nights, there MUST be definite proof in the Bible that He died at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon, was placed in the rock-hewn tomb apparently just at sunset and that He rose from the dead any time between sunset of Saturday and while yet dark Sunday morning. We shall now bring forth these facts from God's inerrant Word, beginning with Leviticus 23:5, 7 as follows:

"In the fourteenth day of the first month at even [literally, 'between the two evenings', as in margin]

is the Lord's passover. And the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord; seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work therein."

The first and last days of these seven days of eating unleavened bread were ANNUAL SABBATHS in connection with the ANNUAL passover day which came on the fourteenth day of the Jewish first sacred month, called Abib, or Nisan, which answers to part of our March and April. Rome has arbitrarily fixed passover day (incorrectly called "Easter" in the King James Version in Acts 12:4) on the first Sunday after the full moon which happens upon or first after the vernal equinox, March 21. This makes a variance of seven days every seven years. Israel's WEEKLY SABBATHS varied as to proximity to the annual Passover day and its next-day "high sabbath". Our God who timed the universe had the death of His Son come on the day we call Wednesday. We shall use these heathen names of week days for clarity but please remember in this study that each day began at sunset—Jewish time.

Since the passover came "between the two evenings" of the 14th of Nisan, our Lord ate His last supper with His disciples on Tuesday AFTER SUNSET when 14th of Nisan began. His arrest and trial in the high priest's house followed that night (Matt. 26:17-66). Next morning Pilate consented to His death and He was crucified at 9:00 a.m., "the third hour" (Mark 15:25). At the ninth hour, 3:00 p.m., shortly after crying (in our place) that awful cry, "My God, My God, Why hast thou forsaken me?" He "gave up the ghost" (Mark 15:37; Matt. 27:46).

Some time elapsed while Joseph was begging the body of Jesus and Nicodemus was bringing about seventy five pounds of myrrh and aloes, travel being on foot or by donkey. The sun was soon to set when the 15th of Nisan, the annual sabbath, would begin. In haste they brought the body to the new tomb near at hand—"and the sabbath drew on" (Luke 23:54). The women watched the proceedings and returned home with the intention of buying spices and ointments to further anoint the Lord's body (Mark 15:47).

Please remember here that our Lord spake of being in the GRAVE three days and nights, not taking into account the three hours between His death at 3:00 p.m., and His body arriving at the tomb at 6:00 p.m., sunset. Here is where a fatal error comes in, to reckon these three hours of Christ's DEATH into the time-span of His ENTOMBMENT! It is popularly construed that "a part of a day makes a day". The plain facts explode this theory.

We see then that Christ's body was in the grave ONE NIGHT (our Wed. night), the high annual sabbath having begun at sunset.

This sabbath's daylight hours (our Thurs.) in which the women could not buy and prepare spices, makes ONE DAY of entombment.

At sunset our Friday began, making the SECOND NIGHT of entombment. The women could now buy and prepare spices in the daylight hours of Friday.

Here we should turn to Mark 16:1. It seems the King James is the only translation that erroneously inserts the word "had" before the word "bought": "And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome BOUGHT (not 'had bought') sweet spices that they might come and anoint Him". This occurred during Friday, making the SECOND DAY of entombment.

The daylight hours of Friday passed away, for we read that the women now "rested the [weekly] sabbath day [begun at sunset], according to the commandment" (Luke 23:56). Friday night now makes the THIRD NIGHT of entombment.

The daylight hours of this Saturday sabbath makes the THIRD DAY!

Praise God, His Word is TRUE! "All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all PLAIN to him that understandeth, and RIGHT to them that find knowledge" (Prov. 8:8, 9).

The time of THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS being fulfilled, our Lord arose from the dead after sunset Saturday. He was no longer in the tomb when Mary Magdalene came the next morning "when it was yet dark" (John 20:1). Luke 24:1 reads: "Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre bringing the spices which they had prepared... " ~ Good Friday or Good Wednesday by Ed Stevens

And I think this is certainly a possibility that we have layered prophecies of weeks and years.

Another thing to be aware of though is that the Scripture can be kind of "tricky" that what is being explained as prophecy might not be immediate to the time spoken.

As you point out; Daniel states in verse two that Jeremiah had prophesied that the Babylonian captivity would be 70 years. Verse 12 stats that Daniel has acknowledged that God has fulfilled that.

12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

Now note what Daniel is actually praying for:

16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.

17 Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake.

18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.

19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

Note that though the reader would understand the intent to be Jerusalem, Daniel doesn't actually name earthy Jerusalem. He says: "Your city and Your people who are called by Your name.

Also "the sanctuary that's desolate". The place where the high priest performed the sacrifice to atone for sin. Jesus was all three. The "sanctuary" the "high priest" and the "sacrifice".

So Daniel isn't praying for an earthly city and a physical temple. He's praying for the heavenly to come to pass as had been promised by God to all the previous prophets going all the way back to Adam.

Interestingly too though; there's no mention in the Scripture post the onset of the Babylonian captivity that the ark of the covenant ever made it back to earthly Jerusalem. So when you do get to the verses about the abomination of desolation and sanctuary being cleansed (or actually "vindicated") they actually are talking about Jesus. I'll post my explanation in a minute.

20 And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God;

21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

We know from Roman records that Herod the Great died in 4 BC, so Jesus had to have been born at least 2 years before that because he was 2 years old when Herod tried to kill him and they spent at least a year in Egypt. This would bring us to 7 BC; which was also a Jubilee year.

Tiberius became Caesar (emperor) to the death of Augustus Caesar the August 17 of the 14 C. E.

The 15th year of Tiberius Caesar would have been 29 AD not 27 AD. 14+15=29.

This jives with historical evidence too. There was a solar eclipse in 29 AD that commenced on the first day of the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius. The Romans minted a coin starting in 30 AD to commemorate this event because they believed it was some sign from the gods of favor on Tiberius's 15th year. (They were right! LOL - they just didn't realize it!)

Now interestingly, on the front of this coin has Tiberius "in eclipse" but on the back of this coin has the Jewish temple!

upload_2019-9-12_14-15-23.png

(I believe this is the coin; but I'm not sure. I've seen a picture of it before; but currently, I can't find the article.) I'll keep looking.

Now Scripture says that John appeared in the wilderness at the commencement of the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar. The feast of Trumpets commenced that year on August 7th, which exactly a week later would have commenced the beginning of Tiberius's 15th year; and also this solar eclipse! Now all the sudden, the leaders of Israel (apparently along with the Romans) take note of this guy in the wilderness preaching repentance!

I agree with you here too that 3.5 years / 42 months / 1260 days all correlate to the public ministry of Jesus as well!

Daniel 8:

9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was cast down.

12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

Herod the Great:

These two passages are somewhat parallel to each other. This "king" and "little horn" are Herod the Great. Herod the Great was of Greek ancestry, although he really wanted to believe he was the Messiah (and he wanted other people to believe he was the Messiah too).

He magnifies himself against the "Prince of the Host" and against the "Prince of Princes". the Prince of the Host and the Prince of Princes is Jesus Christ.

By him (King Herod) the "daily sacrifice is taken away" and "the sanctuary is cast down". He also sets up the "transgression of desolation" and is "broken without hand". This transpires in the course of "2300 days" and there are "1290 days" between the sacrifice taken away and the abomination set up.

So, what does this all mean?

Herod became client king of Judea in (elected by the Roman senate) in 40 BC. In 19 BC, he began reconstruction on the temple. He tore the entire reconstructed Solomon's temple down and totally rebuilt it. It was rededicated 10 years later in 9 BC; although we don't know when, we know it was before Passover.

Around about Passover of 9 BC (or 8 BC - depending on which calendar we are talking about - the "sacred" or the "secular"; because these calendars started 6 months apart) comes John the Baptist's father "in the course of Abia". (End of March) July of that year, John is conceived. Six months later, Jesus is conceived. About Passover of 8 BC, John is born. Six months later; (which would have been right after the secular new year of 7 BC) during the feast of tabernacles, Jesus is born. (End of September.)

Joseph, Mary and Jesus stay in Bethlehem for 2 years. The Magi show up probably around the fall of 5 BC. Mary and Joseph take Jesus to Egypt. Herod dies in the spring of 4 BC. They return from Egypt in the summer time of 3 BC.

The time span this takes place in is 2300 days. I.E. - 6 years and 4 months.

Now; the first communication from God in 400 plus years, comes to John the Baptist's father, Zechariah while he's in the temple. (We'll say Passover of 8 BC because we'll use the sacred calendar. This would have been the beginning of the year.) Roughly a year later John is born. 1.5 years from the angel coming to Zechariah, Jesus is born. 2 years after Jesus is born; Herod kills the babies in Bethlehem.

This time span is 1290 days. I.E. - 3.5 years. (Daniel 12)

So what does "take away the daily sacrifice" and "set up the abomination that causes desolate" mean?

First off, we have to define terms. The word "sacrifice" is not in the Hebrew. "Daily" in this passage is best translated "continuous" or "ceaseless". "Take away" means to "magnify". I have no idea why they translated these verses the way that they did.

11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the Prince of the host, and by him the ceaseless exaltation and the place of the sanctuary was cast down.

12 And an host was given him against the ceaseless by reason of transgression, and it (the host) cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake. How long shall be the vision concerning the ceaseless and the transgression of desolation, to give both the Holy One and the host (army) to be trodden under foot?

Now this hearkens to Jesus making reference to "destroy this temple and I'll raise it on the 3rd day". He wasn't talking about a building, he was talking about his body.

14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be vindicated.

Jesus was "vindicated" of Herod the Great, when He returned from Egypt.

Now looking at this translation, it makes a whole lot more contextual sense. "Daily sacrifice" is a poor translation because Herod didn't take away the daily sacrifice, as was related to animal sacrifices; God took that away as soon as the Messiah was conceived; because He was the final sacrifice.

So, moving on from Jesus's birth to Herod trying to kill Him when He was two; this is where the "abomination that makes desolate" was set up. The first announcement that the Messiah was coming, was made by the angel when he appeared to John the Baptist's father. 3.5 years later, the coming of the Magi announces to the nation that the "King of the Jews" is born.

This makes contextual sense and fits into the 1290 day, as well as the 2300 day time table(s); both connected to the same king who "understands dark sayings".

I've read this argument before. He's wrong. Scripture is very clear Jesus died on Friday and rose on Sunday.

The "3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth" ran from sundown Tuesday until sundown Friday. It was a parabolic representation of being under the wrath of God, not actually "in the grave".

The day Jesus died, His soul was released from Sheol and His human spirit from the flesh. Both ascended to heaven, while the body went in the grave to "rest" on the sabbath. We know His soul and spirit ascended to heaven upon death because He told the thief "This day you shall be with me in paradise." Paradise is in the 3rd heaven.

What would be the BC/AD start/end year dates?

The temple will no be rebuilt and animal sacrifices will not ever return.

We live in a different age now, a high tech age.

The law of Moses is an ancient relic that belongs in the pages of ancient history.

The world has changed and is a highly competitive and consumer driven market place.

We live stream, we are on social media, we have sport from around the globe.

A temple and animal sacrifices?

What the ____?

Your interpretation of the book of Daniel is grossly incorrect.
