How do you feel about climate change? Is it affecting our world negatively?

If it is, can we reverse it?

I don't know if any of you have seen the polar bear commercial but it says that because the icebergs are disappearing the polar bears are in jeopardy having to swim farther between the dwindling icebergs. They evidently need them to live and most are now covered with mud now and aren't white because of it but I don't understand that part of it I believe it is affecting most parts of the world. It has to and I don't understand those that believe that it is having no affect. For those that believe it is having no affect please explain your stand, thank you.

Can be. But here is the thing, it's been around since creation. Hot, Cold, Hot , Cold etc..... In our time it's become a huge industry is the difference. Follow the bucks !! As to climate change itself, it reverses itself by design, there is someone far more powerful than us in charge. Ask the dinosaurs, they lived fat dumb and happy in a hot climate and wham, that door such and an ice age made way for the next open door. We make far too much of ourselves.

Remember decades back when all the rage was talking about factory pollution? Notice how now no one today mentions the wall of soot coming out of China and blanketing the polar ice with blackness, causing it to melt rapidly? Times certainly have changed. Pretty soon we will be drinking bottled water, instead of out of the cleaned up streams like we have been doing.

the climate is changing faster than living organisms ( not just us) can adapt to it and it’s due to us putting so much CO2 into that atmosphere that it’s changing the way heat is distributed over the planet . This is affecting plants . The additional CO2 is making them make carbohydrates instead of protein .
It’s affecting land vertebrates ( including us) around the equator as the higher heat and humidity is causing kidney problems.
It’s affecting the distribution of plants animals fungi and diseases around the planet . In some places it’s too hot for the offspring of plants and animals to survive and the numbers are nearing extinction levels . Most people have heard about ocean acidification but it’s a lot more than that or just some warmer winters in colder areas . This last year alone you’ve seen wildfires, horrible destructive storms and killingly high temperatures . There are actually more problems than I’ve listed here. But just these are the reasons that biologists were the first non climate Scientists to jump on the global warming bandwagon back in the 90s

Scientists of the 60's had already jumped on the pollution bandwagon. Too bad industry found a way around it by going where the new rules did not apply. Imagine if the people demanded the polluters move out of those countries if the countries themselves did not comply with pollution strategies. Would a further distraction soon be needed to the original pollution problem by bypassing CO2 and panicking the people into thinking their oxygen is being destroy by cutting down trees? Meanwhile the soot and melting carries on so we can buy our toys.

the clean air act removed particulates like soot and sulfur based aerosols from the air. That masked the temperature rise because particulates tend to lower the temperature .With cleaner air the temperature was free to rise due to the extra CO2 . Removing the air pollution was a good thing because it was making people sick and damaging the environment. Global warming caused by greenhouse gases now needs to be dealt with.

This year is hotter than last year. A 2012 record low ice cover in the Arctic was broken in 2019 as there is less ice this summer. Florida has to be concerned. Hurricane Dorian tied the highest velocity winds ever recorded in an Atlantic hurricane. Every time a hurricane slams into the coast there is beach erosion, then they spend tax dollars on beach renourishment programs, yet people are moving close to the beach and love the ocean sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. The sea level was recently measured by satellite to be rising 1/8 inch per year.

I am also to blame. Everytime I drive I burn gasoline and that makes carbon dioxide. When I turn on my AC, I get electricity made from burning natural gas that creates more carbon (dioxide).

You forgot the out of regulatory zoned ice melting pollution created by the manufacture of your car and A/C

Climate change is a direct response to man's godless, selfish and greedy exploitation of the earth and the people of the earth. God is not mocked. Mankind is reaping what it sows.

They should make white roofs. They reflect heat back towards space instead of absorb it close to the ground. I suppose it still gets ice cold in the winter time up north and they need black roofs to prevent more ice from forming.

God made provision for controlling Carbon Dioxide. As an aside, without CO2, there would be no life as we know it. God's climate control system is the forest. Oceans also absorb huge amounts. CO2 can enhance growth. It is used in greenhouses to improve yields. When we cut down trees in huge numbers, we are damaging God's system. We are finding out that man's cleverness is no match for God's wisdom.

Climate change comes late October when the daily temps will drop below 90.
The extremes and turbulence will prevail until the new normal settles in. Like shaking up a bottle of soda before it settles down.

White roofs would soon get covered in soot like the old days just as the ice in the Arctic today gets covered. Blackened ice melts quickly even in below freezing temps
The system is broken. Most new homes where I live have black roofs. OK, so do the old homes. One summer it was 49 C (120 f)at lunchtime. Greenery is removed to make way for apartments. Some suburbs are effectively ovens in summer. The roads are black, concrete is everywhere so heat is stored for hours after sunset. I live in a well-treed suburb, but it is changing as housing density is increased. So a government enforced climate disaster is underway. The answer apparently is for me to become a vegetarian. That will fix all the other stupidity that has brought these problems about. I don't think.

Did you know if every person was buried side by side lying down, 7 billion + people would only need an area half the size of New Hampshire in the US. Yet we think we need so much land to sustain our habits.
