Is Jesus in the Tabernacle?

So I still attend a Catholic Church where the Eucharist is kept in a Tabernacle. I'm not sure if Orthodoxy does this same thing or not.

My question is this - the book of Acts tells us that God does not dwell in a temple made with human hands. Scripture also tells us that as believers we are temples of the Holy Spirit.

I struggle when I hear people refer to the Tabernacle and say "That's where we keep Jesus." That just sounds silly.

Where is Orthodoxy on all this? You guys seem to help me learn more that almost anywhere else, and even helped me understand Catholicism better at times - so thank you!

At the end of Mass, the priest drinks the rest of the wine, and only the bread (body) are put in the Tabernacle as far as I have ever seen.
On Holy Thursday of Holy week before Pascha, the body of Christ is reserved after being crossed with His blood, and placed in the tabernacle. It is the reason why we make the sign of the cross every time we pass an Orthodox church. It is there for emergencies. If any remains by the next Pascha, it is consumed by the priest. It does not spoil.

OK - for the most part this sounds the same as Catholicism then. Thank you. I feel uncomfortable in Catholicism and often check their teaching against Orthodoxy. If the two agree it's comforting.

The Orthodox Priests communion set, to bring to the sick , and shut-ins contains a small bottle for the blood (wine).. A small bit of the body (bread) is put on a small spoon, the blood added, and it taken by the communicant via the spoon, just like in Church, as part of a 8 minute, or so "mini liturgy. (At least the many times I've had it, in a hospital bed, were that way)

The Roman Catholic way, the body (styrofoam necco wafer) is given by itself, by a Eucharistic Minister. (seen in the other bed in various hospital rooms)

Not Rome-specific.. I've referred to them as that when I was Episcopalian, and they used the things, too.
Then again, my former Reformed church, used to literally use Welch's, & Wonder bread... That is, until it was MY turn, to prepare the stuff... Welch's, I couldn't avoid, but I refused to perpetrate Wonder Bread.. Used good Pepperidge Farm stuff, folks weren't used to actually having to chew the bread "crouton", though! ;)

As a wise Roman Catholic once said: “It’s easy to believe the wafer is the Body of Christ. It is much harder to believe that it was ever bread.”

My old church used these "wafers" that were about a quarter inch tall - tasted kind of like a savory shortbread. It had a bit of chew to it and didn't melt in the mouth. It actually was quite tasty ;) Of course we had the Welch's grape juice as well.
