China seeks 'calm' to trade war with US; Trump: We're not seeking regime change in Iran
China announces it seeks 'calm' end to trade war, as Asian markets tank
China signaled on Monday it was now seeking a "calm" end to its ongoing trade war with the U.S., as Asian markets crumbled and China's currency plummeted to an 11-year low following the latest tariffs on $550 billion in Chinese goods announced last Friday by the Trump administration.

In response, Chinese Vice Premier Liu He told a state-controlled newspaper on Monday that "China is willing to resolve its trade dispute with the United States through calm negotiations and resolutely opposes the escalation of the conflict," Reuters first reported, citing a transcript of his remarks provided by the Chinese government. Liu is China's top trade negotiator.

It just seems up top the mountain
that didn't take long.
Maybe Obama and Biden
should have tried it?
Think how pretty we would be sitting.

When it comes to trade agreements it would be naive to believe that one could be made and it's good for eternity. Things change over time like an economy, this should be no surprise. What also should be no surprise is that trade talks take a lot of effort and each side is looking after their own interests. This is normal. It's like bartering on super steroids when nations sit down and haggle out loud for everyone to hear using the media.

Well, all said above is true except for
there are two things good for eternity
and those two would be?
Heaven and hell.

It must be pretty bad, if china is crying "uncle".

(Didn't they see this coming? Didn't they think that Trump meant what he said?)

That's not what I mean't by using the word eternity. It's about believing that a once a trade deal is signed it should be good forever. These things do have a shelf life.

Here we have China calling for negotiations. But it is reported how China has been going against what has already been negotiated!! If this is true, China does not need to get anyone else to change things, but China simply needs to stop cheating and stop betraying China's word that China already gave in negotiations!!

Of course, if they are dishonest by nature, they might not be able to do this. Worldly people can be incapable of doing the simple and right thing.

So . . . prayer for God to bless them, howsoever He pleases.

"God resists the proud" > in James 4:6 and also in 1 Peter 5:5 > so, God is already blessing China, possibly by resisting them . . . while also resisting Americans howsoever He knows this is needed.

My opinion is that China can simply stop doing anything they full well know is against any already negotiated agreements and rules. They do not need to talk with Donald, just do what they gave their word they would do. I mean, I have read claims how China has knowingly been cheating and betraying their word.

So, there may be no need to negotiate with anyone else. Negotiate with themselves.

Just bought a Chinese radio from Walmart for $99 let's start making them here I would be glad to pay $169.

Suffering a little for one's own country is not a bad idea.

A good start would be for China to honor the trade agreement its negotiators already settled on with the American representatives...but then pulled the rug out from that agreement and sent the negotiations back to square one.

I don't think it's suffering perse.. My husband and I are the income group that perhaps is most benefited from inexpensive Chinese made goods in that we can afford more "things" provided they are inexpensive enough..

But neither myself nor my husband are particularly materialistic. We don't have a flat screen TV (although I admit wanting one.. lol) we still have the old-style television and until this monster breaks my husband isn't buying a new one.. we dont go all in for thousand dollar phone's like some people do, etc.

But I think most people in my income bracket would rather have fewer goods but have them made in the U.S. and I think most people are like myself.. it's not the amount of things which matter..

but I don't consider it suffering..
