Justice declines prosecution of ex-FBI Dir. James Comey for leaked Trump memos, found he violated policy
IG says Comey violated FBI policy but no law.
IG says Comey violated FBI policy but no law.
I think this has to do with documents leaked only. I think he is still on the hook for FISA.It's fascinating to read how the DOJ declining to prosecute Comey is turned by him into "no wrongdoing." That's despite the laundry list given in the USAToday article of "wrongdoings" committed by him.
Kinda like what Trump did only far lighter. It's fascinating to read how the DOJ declining to prosecute Comey is turned by him into "no wrongdoing." That's despite the laundry list given in the USAToday article of "wrongdoings" committed by him.
Trump had the authorization to do what he did in that instance. It violated no law. Comey, the FBI director, however, was not covered in the same way.Trump reveals classified information to the Russian Ambassador and no one cared. Comey and Clinton have nothing to to with politics , I don't understand the obsession with them.
And Comey violated no law.Trump had the authorization to do what he did in that instance. It violated no law. Comey, the FBI director, however, was not covered in the same way.
Trump demands loyalty in a private meeting and lies about what was said. What Comey did was against FBI policy, not against the law.Trump had the authorization to do what he did in that instance. It violated no law. Comey, the FBI director, however, was not covered in the same way.
We're just going in circles about this for some unknown reason.Trump demands loyalty in a private meeting and lies about what was said. What Comey did was against FBI policy, not against the law.
Comey is cut and dried, the release is clearlly not against the law. With Trump the issue is obstruction and this Congress, especially the Senate, does nothing. We're just going in circles about this for some unknown reason.
Apparently neither of them apparently broke any law, but the thread is supposed to be about Comey, not just the umpteenth opportunity to turn to Trump-bashing.
When did he claim that the information in the Steel dossier was verified? The only unclassified affidavit I'm aware of verifies that Steel gave them certain information and that they consider him to be a reliable source. Nothing ever says that they confirmed the individual details of what was in his report. The IG most certainly did NOT say that Comey broke no law. What he said was that nothing in the CURRENT report amounted to an actual violation of the law. There are other reports coming. And we already KNOW that Comey committed a FELONY each time he signed a FISA application claiming that the information derived from the Steel dossier was "verified."
