Well I do not think you know many Trump supporters else you would not say this.
Trump supporters just expect their President and Congress to represent America and Americans first. I seriously doubt anyone wants a "theocratic" government or nation. I have never heard anyone say that. So I cannot take that seriously.

Well, sure, if your notion of "Americans" only includes non-urban, mostly white, conservatives. Over half of the country didn't think he represented them in Nov 2016, and neither Trump nor the Republican party have been doing anything at all since then to broaden their appeal. When the president and congress try to represent the rest of America that you guys seem to perpetually exclude from your concept of "America", you complain. A lot.

But they were talking about Obama not a some fantasy President.
Obama on his worst day so far exceeds Trump on his best in just about every measure of a man and leader, that I seriously question the sanity of anyone who thinks otherwise. Thank you for electing Trump directly after Obama so the world can clearly see the two extremes of American governance.

Of course not. But this is the state of the attacks now--nothing has to have even the remotest connection to reality, but just pack a punch. That's why they can say that the president isn't a Christian but, at the same time, claim with a straight face that he wants to make the country into a "theocracy." o_O
Its not the president who wants a theocracy but a large portion of his supporters do. They simply see in Trump a useful idiot who can get them to that goal.

Well, I do not think your perceptions are actually matching up with reality.
The only precept I see from scripture is that we should have a nation that is conducive to peace and freedom. But you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
So maybe I'm wrong. What do you look forward to conservative SCOTUS appointees doing for us?

Who??? Be precise now. Since it is a "large portion" you should have millions of names all of which have said and are promoting specifics elements of a platform that encourages some sort of "theocracy."
Take as much space as you want.
I mentioned two already: overturning Roe v. Wade and Obergefell v. Hodges.

Well for starters, people who say things like this:
So lets get those last 2 or 3 conservative Supreme Courts Justices appointed and be done with it! That, I think is what this is actually all about.
Seem to want their religious beliefs reinforced by the federal courts.

You must not have heard those Christians who say that we must support more and more government welfare programs because Jesus told us to feed the poor.
Yes, Jesus told each of US to support them, NOT THE GOVERNMENT. Otherwise, He would have told us to give the money to the authorities, instead of handling the benevolence ourselves.

I have great respect for the office of President. I have nothing but contempt for the individual currently occupying said office.

can we not stop with the idea that the office of the President should be respected regardless of its occupant please?

I respect the office. The current occupant does not.

Absolute fantasy. i do not mean that as criticism or insult. It just does not match up with reality.
Sorry... just "fake news!"

Most of the country wants some sort of expanded health insurance / health care system. When Obama and the Democrats crafted Obamacare, incorporating a number of previously-Republican ideas, how did Republicans respond? By stonewalling and carrying on as if the sky was falling. "Repeal" has been the mantra for nearly a decade.

Most of the country wants some sort of reasonable gun control laws enacted. How do Republicans respond when this is brought up? They block it.

Most of the country does have much interest in seeing tax cuts for the wealthy being pushed through, and yet Republicans fight tooth and nail for those.

I've been watching conservatives for decades define "real America" as something excluding the coasts and the urban centers of this country and I'm kind of tired of it. You and your ideals are not the whole of "America." You are not the only group with a claim to that.

Original intent.
Keep the gov out of our lives.
Leave our freedoms as enumerated in the Constitution alone.
Keep American and America first in their priorities.
Not very specific. Tie that to some current issues.

Ensure free exercise of religion for all. Christians, Jews. Muslims, even secular religions.
Sorry. I've lived in the Bible Belt as a non-Evangelical. I absolutely do not trust you on this point.

I expect them to keep America aligned with the concepts of the Constitution our forefathers drafted. You know, the document our country is founded upon.

I think Trump is the only one with the guts to speak his mind... even to his own hurt.
Yes, his once-cogent, now-doddering mind. It's true that he doesn't seem to have much executive-function left.

He does not care what the Dems or the Repubs think. He does not care what the media thinks or says. He does not care what you say.
But I think most Americans respect what he is saying, and kind of get a kick of how he says it. He is saying what a lot of people think. Not a repub myself... but I did want Carson only because I thought he best reflected my views. But Trump will have to do... especially considering the alternative...
So lets get those last 2 or 3 conservative Supreme Courts Justices appointed and be done with it! That, I think is what this is actually all about.

Yeah, the judges are the reason the establishment Republicans tolerate him. Let's hope he doesn't tank the economy with his foolishness and whims.
