True. Can we say Obama was The Transformer _ who failed?

America doesn't:

Americans Say Barack Obama Was Best President of Their Lifetimes
When asked which president has done the best job in their lifetimes, more Americans name Barack Obama than any other president. More than four-in-ten (44%) say Obama is the best or second best president of their lifetimes, compared with about a third who mention Bill Clinton (33%) or Ronald Reagan (32%).

Well let’s look at the timelines here.

The voting age is 18, and a two term President serves for 8 years.

So their really are only 4 or 5 to choose from.

Trump is only partially in to a 1st term. Was Trump even one of the available options?

I would be a little more discerning how the media sets these polls up.

Our country went through similar reactions, albeit different circumstances, during the Great Depression. Many displayed confused, bizarre-like behaviors then, including openly calling for communism. Fortunately, we had enough real Americans to turn it around, despite the hardships, before that mentality took root nation-wide. I don’t know now; the last time I was at the polls I thought I was in a foreign country.
I know, it seems like our opponents are living in an alternate reality where right means wrong and vice versa.

Lol, his legacy has been erased. He had the slowest economic growth in history. The recession wasn't his fault, but his policies and doubling our debt kept things sluggish until Trump released us from prison. Like a breath of fresh air, hope came like a freight train. Corp. Taxes lowered, strict regulations lifted, trade agreements adjusted and bam, growth, lowesr unemployment and btw lets build that wall for safe keeping! You guys still don't get it. You think like Robin Hood, only these are not Medevil times. Capitalism is the way to go.

Lol, his legacy has been erased. The showers economic growth in history.

His economic policies led to the longest economic expansion in U.S. history. The slowing economic growth now is the result of tax cuts and Trump's tariffs.

Trade woes slowing US economy, deficit to top US$1 trillion in 2020: Budget experts
WASHINGTON (REUTERS) - Higher trade barriers, including President Donald Trump's tariffs, are slowing the US economy and cutting household income, congressional budget experts warned on Wednesday (Aug 21)
Trade woes slowing US economy, deficit to top US$1 trillion in 2020: Budget experts

The recession wasn't his fault,

But that record expansion was his doing.

but his policies and doubling our debt kept things sluggish

See above. You were lied to about that. Now, let's look at the deficits...

Trump’s Budget Deficits Could Almost Double Obama’s
It appears that President Trump and Congress have reached a deal to increase the debt limit and a two-year budget that will substantially increase the yearly federal deficit. Besides throwing aside any semblance of budget restraint by either political party, it will create $1 trillion plus budget deficits for as long as the eye can see.

Trump likes to claim that everything he does is the largest by any President. He is going to get his “wish” with the budget deficit since they are on course to be the biggest in an expanding economy. Between the 2018 tax cuts and the increase in spending for 2020 and 2021 it will push the accumulated deficits to be the largest ever over a four-year timeframe. And God help the U.S. when a downturn in the economy hits and the deficits balloon beyond any current projection.

Trump’s Budget Deficits Could Almost Double Obama’s

You didn't know this? How could you have missed it? Take a look at where the deficits went under Obama and where they're going under Trump:
7.19.19.png

Yep. Your guy is on track to be the biggest deficit spender, eclipsing George W. Bush, who also cut taxes for the rich. Notice the only economic program that actually got us into the black any year, was Bill Clinton's.

until Trump released us from prison. Like a breath of fresh air, hope came like a freight train.

An anchor would be a more accurate metaphor. Obama steadily reduced deficits. Trump is ballooning them.

You guys still don't get it. You can't spend yourself rich.

Capitalism is the way to go.

Capitalism isn't about lavish tax cuts for the rich, and borrowing more and more money to fund your increasing spending.

Well yes, that's how Trump ran his businesses, which one after another went bankrupt. But he can't declare bankruptcy now, and just walk away. He's finally found himself in a fix he can't run away from.

You want to claim the rise from rock bottom and give Obama credit for that, but you're not willing to give him credit for starting the downturn in 2015-2016. It took Obama the bigger part of his first term to make a difference and that was with everyone supporting him... Trump has been fought at every angle perceivable.

Yep. He got 18%; not even a majority of his backers thought he's a good president.

So, it’s not comparing Obama’s economic success or failure to Trump.

But is comparing Obama to Clinton, Bush, Bush ect ?

I thought your Post was about Trump?

We know the US economy was in decline, you mean Obama had a few low key successes in a failed economy?

Your really not making your point because Obama is an economic failure compared to Trump!

So, it’s not comparing Obama’s economic success or failure to Trump.

Obama's policies started the longest economic expansion in U.S. history. And he steadily reduced deficits almost every year of his administration.

As you learned, Trump's tax cut for himself and his tariffs have now damaged and slowed the economy. And of course, Trump's policies ballooned deficits.

So compared to Obama, he's not doing so well, is he?

I thought your Post was about Trump?

It's not just that the expansion is slowing under Trump. It's the huge deficits he's piling up:

7.19.19.png

Notice that Obama reduced them, and Trump is now increasing them. Besides the tariffs, it's his greatest economic failure.

As you now realize, Trump has failed in every way that Obama succeeded.

Well, let's take a look at that...
us-real-gdp-2007-2016-600x558.png

Looks like a continuous rise through 2016. Of course, this is real GDP, meaning that it is a measure of how the United States economy is going.

It took Obama the bigger part of his first term to make a difference and that was with everyone supporting him...

If you think so, you have a very poor memory. I can remember Moscow Mitch saying that the goal of the republican was that Obama must not succeed.

"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Huuuge... but, they don't like to acknowledge they got outsmarted with the electoral vote.
I don’t know about outsmarted with the electoral vote.

Every Presidential election has the electoral system, so it’s not like it is any different in that aspect than the way we’ve always done it.

They are angry he out campaigned, their terrible candidate who had nothing to offer America but more of the same lifetime politician.

They hate Trump because he won’t cow - tow and become who they think he should be. He won’t change for them.

Bummer. Too bad for people. This is the President America chose to NOT BE a politician and they hate him for it

So are you saying a sad failing economic system that has existed since after Reagan left the presidency, that Obama was able to maintain that dismal economy throughout his presidency?

Yes, Obama was able to keep the low standards of the failing economic system, we chose Donald Trump to improve.

No. I'm pointing out that Obama's economic policies reduced deficits and produced the longest economic expansion in our nation's history.

Yes, Obama was able to keep the low standards of the failing economic system

Capitalism isn't a failing system. Obama just had better economic policies. Which is why deficits have greatly increased on Trump's watch and this (along with his tariffs) are why the economy is slowing for the first time in nine years.

Trump's Twin Deficits Are Exploding
Candidate Trump campaigned on wiping out the yearly federal deficit, the governments $19 trillion in total debt and reducing the trade deficit. Reality is harsher than campaigning, especially when President Trump signed a huge corporate tax cut (which contained a minor cut for individuals). This has led to the federal deficit on track to reach $1 trillion per year.

Trump has talked loudly but delivered little real results when it comes to impacting trade. Under his watch the trade deficit has grown over $100 billion, going from $502 billion in 2016 to $621 billion in 2018, an increase of 19%. The deficit for Goods has increased $140 billion from $751 billion to $891 billion.
Trump's Twin Deficits Are Exploding

we chose Donald Trump to improve.

And he is now bringing that record economic expansion to an end, as his tariffs become an increasing drag on our economy.

Trump's China tariffs to take bite out of U.S. economy, CBO warns
The Congressional Budget Office is sounding the alarm on President Trump’s trade war, saying tariffs will have a material impact on the U.S. economy Opens a New Window. .

“CBO expects the changes in U.S. and foreign trade policies since January 2018 to reduce the level of real U.S. GDP by about 0.3 percent by 2020,” the CBO said in its updated budget and economic outlook for 2019 to 2029. “Tariffs reduce domestic GDP chiefly by raising domestic prices, which reduces the purchasing power of U.S. consumers and increases the cost of business investment.”

The report also said real income for the average U.S. household would fall by 0.4 percent during that time.

America disagrees with you. Probably because he lied to his followers, promising them all sorts of things he knew he couldn't deliver.
Over 61 million Americans support President Trump.

So America disagrees with you too.
