Trump's former advisors worried about his increasingly bizarre behavior.

Trump is right next to Ronald Reagan as one of the best presidents.

America disagrees with you. Probably because he lied to his followers, promising them all sorts of things he knew he couldn't deliver. So when Nancy Peolosi got him to admit he was responsible for shutting down the government, public anger eventually forced him to give up his wall.

Totally sane,

America disagrees with you. His increasingly frantic and deranged tweetstorms have pretty well ended any realistic hope for his mental stability.

And as his followers begin to walk away from him, as the first economic turndown since George W. Bush was president, looms on the horizon, he's running scared. For good reason. As soon as he leaves office, he can be indicted.

Almost all large corporations use them extensively, paying billions annually for them. And they depend on them when making product and marketing decisions. If they didn't work, they wouldn't depend on them.

And the results validate that. Polls showed Clinton a bit over 3 percent advantage in the popular vote over Trump. The final result was a bit over 2 percent higher than Trump. Pretty good call. The blue wave that swept the republicans out of power in the House was accurately called by most polls.

You were misled about that. Hillary Clinton, depending on her polls, said it would be close. And indeed it was. You didn't know that?
Come on now... the only Democrat who thought Hillary would lose, was Michael Moore.

He will be the next president. Who does the Dems really have to go up against Trump? Lol

Perhaps there's a reason that has so many disillusioned former advisors who are concerned about his behavior, when other presidents didn't.
Electing a genuine reformer is a bit of a rarity in the last several Presidential elections. President Trump is one. President Carter was another. But I'm at a loss to think of one in the 20th century prior to President Carter.

In Carter's case, he took on the DC establishment... and they wiped the floor with him. And then a phony baloney reformer wiped the floor with Carter in the 1980 election.

President Trump has been a bit more successful with the DC establishment. It hasn't been an utter victory for him but neither has it been one for the establishment either. They've taken no shortage of losses of different kinds.

I understand why establishment Republicans oppose President Trump. It's completely logical. But even now, I'm astounded that the anti-establishment left has vilified President Trump as well. I have to wonder if they realize they're foot soldiers for the establishment. If they do realize it, they seem quite comfortable with it.

Anyway...

I would have thought "reformer" would not apply to a president with so many of his people going to jail, and being identified in a Justice Department investigation as one who repeatedly attempted to obstruct justice (he failed when none of his people would obey him)

Exactly, President Trump is a reformer and it stands to reason that the DC establishment is trying to undermine him however they can. It's pretty logical.

You're saying that Trump's people committed all those crimes because the establishment doesn't like him? You're going to have to put a little more detail into that one.

Crimes? I don't think you completely understand. President Trump is a reformer and that's the main reason why the establishments of both parties are variously arrayed against him.

The really surprising part (for me anyway) is that the more progressive wing of the Democrat Party isn't at least somewhat friendly to President Trump because he's just as much an outsider as they are. It's pretty surprising, tbh.

If you voted for Trump because he’s ‘anti-establishment,’ guess what: You got conned

That's a new spin... oh well, everything else has been tried.

The article was written in 2016. Hardly new.

In any case, the question was why progressives haven't fallen for the scam and therefore friendlier towards Trump. The article helps to explain why.

Doesn't surprise me, they can't see past the 'more progressive wing of the Democrat Party' part. I do think more mainstream Dems will vote for Trump this election, or stay home.

I work in a pretty liberal office. None of that woke stuff. These are like 1990s Sierra Club liberals.

They’re all voting for President Trump because there’s really nobody else for them to vote for. Their words, not mine.

They don't know what to do, every one of their schemes fails, they are losing their sanity. They have nothing substantial against him and he has just about erased Obama's legacy, but the damage he did. He is a straight shooter and brilliant with his economic moves.

Trump won by a wide margin

Rational thinking wins over feelings -sometimes. Now there are do or die Dems that are consumed with hatred that just won't budge. But Trump is turning many. They all have to ask these questions when they go to vote, "Has my life been better in in the last four years? Is the economy better? Are we safe? Are we heading in the right direction? Or whatever is important to that person, one must be logical and not emotional about this decision. Or shall I get behind people like AOC, Bernie, Bieden, Warren ... And start marching along with ANTIFA?

Our country went through similar reactions, albeit different circumstances, during the Great Depression. Many displayed confused, bizarre-like behaviors then, including openly calling for communism. Fortunately, we had enough real Americans to turn it around, despite the hardships, before that mentality took root nation-wide. I don’t know now; the last time I was at the polls I thought I was in a foreign country.
