Brother with tinnitus

Had my tinnitus for over 25 years. Can be heard above anything.

I have learnt to live with it. He mustn't dwell on it. That is easier said than done though, i understand.

May God give him the strength to live with his tinnitus

I've had tinnitus affecting both ears for a few years now and have to take anti-vertigo medication. I never thought I'd get used to having the ringing and buzzing in the ears, but over time, you learn to adjust and compensate. I hardly notice mine now.

Praying. May the Lord ease up his suffering and make his day to day life easier. May He send healing and blessing to him and make him strong in Lord's word, Amen

Lord we bring this prayer to you and pray for Dudemeister's bro. Let you please touch and heal him from tinnitus. Let there be no ringing of ears or any other symptoms and issues, please heal him. Lord bless his everyday life, and let you be glorified, in Jesus gracious name, Amen!

I've heard that can be really painful and troubling. Praying for your brother to be free of tinnitus.

I have heard some are helped by taking manganese, though of course I don't know in his case. I pray he will be led to healing.

Father, lead this sufferer to focus on other things so as not to be always conscious of this ringing in the ears. Bring them hope that it can be lived with in such a way as not to negatively effect their life. Amen.

I am so sorry that your brother is dealing with such a difficult health problem as tinnitus. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to have a constant ringing in ones' ear. Please know that I have been and will continue to pray for him. Though not the same, I have been dealing with severe (10/10) pain round the clock for the past eight years. There have been several medical options that I have attempted to assist in dealing with the pain, but I must say that THE BEST option has been to draw closer to Christ by meditating, memorizing, and personalizing His Word. For instance,

"If I dwell in Your shelter, my Most High, I will rest in Your shadow Almighty!
I will say of You, O' LORD, 'You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.'

Surely You will save me from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. You will cover me with Your feathers, and under your wings will I find refuge;
Your faithfulness will be my shield and my rampart.
I will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor or the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at my side,
Ten thousand at my right hand,
but it will not come near me.
I will only observe with my eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

Yeah I ended up with tinnitus at only 13 years old when my little brother thought it would be fun to twist a sheet of the large bubble wrap in my ear... I was deaf in that ear for three days and afterwards I still had a ringing.

But as others have said, usually it gets better over time as you get less conscious of it. If I focus on the sound really hard and try to imagine silence instead, like my other ear, I can almost think it away. But it always comes back when I stop. Still, during the nights when it was really starting to bother me, that did seem to keep it quieter long enough for me to fall asleep.

They say it's because some of the hairs in your cochlea were destroyed and your brain is basically in a never ending loop trying to receive frequencies from the nerves that don't get a signal any longer. So you're basically hearing the electrical signals inside your own brain.
