Who thinks Trump's claim to be the chosen one was sacrilegious

America is the most consequential country since the Roman Empire. On that basis, I can't see a way around the reality that anybody who leads it was chosen by God to do so.

This includes the Presidents that I like and the ones I don't like as well.

I would say that President Trump isn't wrong when he claims that God put him in the Presidency.

Anyone who believes , after reading that mess of an article, that they know something other than what The Guardian wants them to believe probably already had his mind made up.

Who thinks it is right for a news source to quote a single word and then tell the reader what the context was and take it upon itself to decide to capitalize "Chosen One" in order to imply a meaning that wasn't there--and after only HEARING the President use those words? This is really shoddy journalism.

Yeah not comfortable with the language at all. But don’t think he was invoking Scriptures.

Unless of course he’s listening to the babbling of some of the New Age witch doctors passing themselves for Christians, who have attached themselves to him.

That would be the obvious meaning, yes.

As a side note, my forefathers waged a war for, among other reasons, my right to not give a hang what the Brits think of us, our politics and our President. I don't think I need to be lectured by the very same people who elected Theresa May as their Prime Minister.

A narcissist says he’s the chosen one . Hard to tell if Trump really believes that or not .

He was chosen by history to be the President to stand up to China on trade - it's obvious from the context that's what he was saying. Previous Presidents should have done this, but didn't.

In even simpler terms, he attained his presidency through the voting process. By definition, he IS the chosen one...!

. I’ve had dealings with another narcissist . They all tend to act alike in some ways . If it quacks like a duck ..... !

There are also psychologists and psychiatrists who’ve gone on public record about trump being a narcissist . I don’t remember where I saw one because it’s been a few years but I always thought he was one simply because I’ve seen that type of toxic behavior before .

Typical of narcissistic behavior his tantrum over Denmark not wanting to sell Greenland. Trumps on tv right now complaining about how nasty the prime minister is

even a lot of Hollywood types think he is and they have more experience with narcissistic behavior that most of us normal people . I did say I don’t remember where but I have no reason to doubt if someone publically claims to be a psychologist or psychiatrist as its easy to refute if they’re phonies. If I find it I’ll post it.

I could accept that explanation as long as I'm only reading the comment in print. However, I saw the video, he pauses slightly and literally turns and looks to the sky when he makes the "chosen one" phrase.
After seeing it, I think he's been listening to too much Paula White. Imho, ymmv.

You think this is normal behavior? I don’t , it’s extremely immature just because the PM told him no he can’t have it. 2 year olds and narcissists act like that ! He’s also done this before to other countries.
