What exactly does this mean in terms of what happens to the perpertrator? Being accountable is fine...but what does that really mean?
It means that every action has a equal and opposite reaction. Gods has impressed upon me many times that He is a God of absolute and precise Justice. People are going to get exactly what is coming to them based on what they have done. He weighs the good we have done and the Evil and we better have done more good in life then evil. Daniel 5:27 "TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting" This is why we read about Belshazzar's doom. He was weighed in the scales and found wanting. He had more evil in him then good.

What is the difference between your character and what you think about?

They are linked. What I meant is that positive or negative thinking contributes to a person's character but not necessarily to what will happen to him or her.

So when the bible says "What a man soweth, that shall he also reap....." How do you believe a seed is sown? Does this not begin as a thought? And if it does, is this verse untrue since you say that thinking wont have an effect on what will happen to you?

I did not mean it in that context.

What I meant is, just because (for example) one thinks positively and thinks he will never get cancer, it does not mean that he won't. Mind cannot always dictate what happens in real life.

How do you know this? Have you tried thinking positive or negative about cancer to verify whether or not you get it? If not, why tell people what can or cannot happen when doing so?

If you have no ought against people thinking position, or following the verse "whatsoever" things are kind, of good report....think on these things......why add any stumbling blocks at all for those those desire to think positive? Why can you not see one who wishes to follow that verse, without telling them it wont help or affect them?

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

What does one have to gain by telling others that following this verse would have no effect on themselves?

I never said it has no effect. I said it doesn't "necessarily" mean or "always" mean. (I am actually cautious about not making absolute statements because we err as humans).

So that means I do consider the possibility that it could have an effect.

That is a good verse you quoted above. But since I have not used that verse thus far, it is inaccurate to state that I told others "that following this verse would have no effect on themselves."

I'm sorry if I did not word it well and caused misunderstanding. I don't wish to argue with you, nor do I even actually disagree with your scriptural interpretation.

Peace and God bless.

Try not to see argument and disagreement....but yet, think on positive things. My words are moreso for the casual reader.

I would encourage you to trying thinking positive in situations where you wouldnt normally do so and then see if anything changes. See if you do not become that which you think in your heart..... Then you can start speaking from experience, and not interpretation only.
