Is that commonplace when a response doesn’t fall in line?

I don't know; I think it depends on the recipient.

(I'm not judging your posts, I was just defining what "file 13" or "the round/circular file" mean)

The media seems to be trying to incite a race war. Best to simply treat people with respect and move about your business.
these types of stories have not occurred in isolation, quite a few of them have happened and some have not been broadcast in the media. To suggest that this is incitement dismisses the fact that these cases have occurred. The funny thing is the actual response to these stories is often to provide protections in the law against racial discrimination; yet the same people saying that this is supposed to be incitement are also the same people that complain about the protections in the law.

The real incitement is attempting to justify this woman’s actions by quoting crime statistics from other states. That is meant to stir up fears and resulted in prejudice against other people.

She deserved to be arrested. Being forced to lie down for an extended period, with an apparently unstable woman pointing a gun at you, wondering if she is going to shoot you would be very traumatic.

However, we would like some consistency on your stance. You were upset when a poster highlighted the race of the man who shot multiple police officers. I agree that highlighting his race seemed unnecessary.

On the other hand, here you are highlighting the race of this woman, and her victims, and making it the story. She referenced a previous home invasion. It sounds like she was paranoid to start with and ready to pull a gun on people approaching the house.

It is not clear that race was the main motivator here. Her only reference to race was to claim it was was not a factor. Was she biased and that was an acknowledgement, or did she just realize after the fact that the optics were terrible and that people would assume that was the motivation?

If you don't have proof that this was her motivation why are you pressing that issue?

And I'm pretty sure for that story, there will be an excuse for what she should have done to not get the police called on her.

...yep, and all of those excuses tend to just be thinly veiled ways of saying "black people should stay out of the white neighborhoods". They'll never word it that way, but their underlying sentiments are plain as day.
