My Father won’t kill me. That’s not what Fathers do.
There are fates worse than death of dying...

And while it might break His heart to have one of His children go through them or suffer them, He will allow it is He feels He absolutely has to, or if it is for the much greater, better, higher, and superior good in the end...

This is why we should seek to work out our salvation with fear and trembling until we are perfected in Love...

God Bless!

Fates where you would greatly wish for death with all that you are, and all that you have/are, etc, and yet you will not be able to find it, etc...

God Bless!

Who is responsible for our sanctification?

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
— Romans 8:29

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
— Philippians 2:12-13

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.
— 1 Corinthians 15:10

Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
— Hebrews 13:20-21

Both God, and us.

Choose Him for sanctification? What does that mean?
Choose to walk with and follow Him like @Gracia Singh said, for that is the beginnings of sanctification, cause He won't force you, may allow to suffer a worse "fate", etc, if He has to, because of His choice not to force you or anyone, etc...

What if we are predestined to be sanctified? Then what must I do?

Choose.

Whether that choice is a actual true choice or not, it still is to us, so, you must "choose" still, etc...

God may already know your choice, but we, none of us, do not, so you must still choose even if you are predestined to be sanctified, you must still choose it/Him, or to be or undergo or start the process of sanctification, etc, or to walk with Him or start walking with and/or start following after Him, and/or be saved, or a saved one or one who is saved, etc, etc, etc...

And as Neo in the Movie Matrix might say in His scene with the Architect, the problem is choice...

God Bless!

What if we are predestined to be sanctified? Then what must I do?
' 14“For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. 15“To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey. 16“Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more talents. 17“In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more. 18“But he who received the one talent went away, and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19“Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. 20“The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’ 21“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’

22“Also the one who had received the two talents came up and said, ‘Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have gained two more talents.’ 23“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’

24“And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed.25‘And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

26“But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.27‘Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. 28‘Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’

29“For to everyone who has, moreshall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. 30“Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." '

Be careful not to bury it and do nothing. You need to bear fruit or face pruning.
