I'm going through a very stressful time and one of the physical reactions I've had is almost a complete lack of appetite and almost a revulsion of food. I know some folks would say they wished they had this, but truly you don't. It's a horrible feeling.
Please pray for a calm in my spirit, soul, and body, so that I can eat normally and move forward trusting God fully
Thank you so much,
ac
Dear Girl, I'm sorry to hear about your stressful time. I experienced this same phenomenon when my husband died suddenly. I had no appetite and food repulsed me. It didn't last long, and I hope that yours won't either.
One remedy that is supposed to help when you've lost your appetite, is to drink coffee with butter or cream in it. The purpose is to keep your metabolism going. You don't want your body to crash. And if you can eat anything at all, make it healthy foods like vegetables and broth. These are easy on the stomach and are power-packed with health and nutrition.
What are you doing to address the stress? Can you change your situation at all? If yes, make any healthy choices that need to be made. But sometimes, you can't stop the source of the strain. We can't always control our environment but we can often control our response to it.
In times when I have felt like I had continuous stress, I found it extremely helpful to get alone with God and pray, but even better, to get alone with Him and worship Him. He says that we can enter right into God's presence when we give Him our humble praises and proclaim His goodness. When we are in a submissive relationship with God, He comes to us to meet our needs.
Whenever I stay in that place of worship, God gives me peace. He doesn't ALWAYS take away the source of what is giving me problems, but He helps me to rest and to know that He is there to help me navigate it daily.
I will be happy to pray for you. <3
