Sexual thoughts aren’t abnormal. Lust is a different matter. You should pay attention to the circumstances that bring them up.

Are you under stress, sad, upset, lonely, etc. Once you can pinpoint the trigger you’ll be more prepared to counter its usual effect.

Continue to pray against the spirits of lust and perversion and avoid all written and visual media that feeds it.

Don't let it get you down too much, you are sincerely trying and that's a lot. I guess I'm saying don't get to the point you just give up, and with time you may get there. Immediately drop the thought when it hits and find something to occupy you mind if you must.

As far as what God thinks of us when we are doing the best we can, or at least striving to until we get to the breaking point in this area, I don't want to say for sure, but since he created that urge in us to be sure we would be fruitful and multiply, he might not think as badly about us as one might think.

You must give up trying. As you have seen over and over, that doesn't work for long. The Bible says that "Anyone who continues to sin becomes a slave to sin." But Messiah "came to set the captives free." The struggle must be to turn it over to Him, not to stop on your own efforts.

We are also told in the Bible "In quietness and rest is your salvation.... Be still and see the salvation of the Lord...." and that He, Himself, goes out before us to fight our battles for us. Get out of His way, friend. Either you're gonna do it and fail, or you're going to let Him do it! Effort is fine in the right direction. Make your efforts to be to rest in Him and let him be what He came to be, your Savior.

If you are very healthy, a once a week 24 hour water fast, with prayer, can work wonder.

Also the book Every Man's Battle has been a great help for many. If you are female there is Every Woman's Battle.

I pray for your freedom, kept.
