War of Words
Overcoming Accusations
Revive Israel
(I've dealt with this topic many times before, both personally and publicly. Rabbi Asher Intrater and Cody Archer had some very interesting comments about about how we are to understand and deal with the spiritual sickness of critical thought that is prevalent in today's society. I have paraphrased the video and seek your thoughts? Is critical thinking ever justifiable?)
It is a disease of critical spirit which leads to divisiveness. You can see it in the whole of society. Being overly critical to the point of accusation. Trying to make them look bad or to fall. This forces division.
This is spiritual, a spiritual sickness all around the world. Everyone is out to get the other.
This type of critical spirit effects everything, it is Geo-political. It pervades politics, religion, social/ethnic groups. This is a red flag that there is a spiritual root to all of this.
When it says war broke out in heaven we know it is speaking of a spiritual battle. Verse 9 refers to Genesis in the garden of Eden where this started, and it says Satan was cast down and deceived the entire world. In verse 10 it also calls him the accuser of the brethren. Think about these two different categories of how the devil operates. A fallen angel does two things, they tempt and deceive the unbelievers, and they accuse the believers. Both of which are a set of lies.
It’s one lie to tempt you to do something wrong, and there is another lie to accuse you of doing something wrong. In Torah you condemn the wicked and justify the righteous. So the devil is doing just the opposite. He tempts by speaking lies to people to deceive them, and then he accuses the people who try to do right.
So when you see people living in sins you know they have obviously been deceived. And conversely when you try to start to do something right then this temptation to do something wrong turns into an accusation against you. In this way the devil tempts the world and accuses the righteous. Satan’s highest role is probably accusing the brethren.
We all do this a little bit. We find something that we disagree with the rabbi or pastor or an online poster and we start to bicker to ourselves, to our family, or we spend hours contending with them online. And to be honest there is something evil in that, but it feels good. You think you’re being righteous. You’re going to show them what they did wrong. But this is exactly where you need to watch out. It is the devil who is the accuser.
Solution?
All this is not to say we can’t examine and discern the situation. But the difference is are we trying to hear what could be good and uplifting to the person, group or situation. Or are we looking to make you fall and do you damage. We need to discern these things. And honestly ask are we for or against the person themselves, or seeking to uplift the person/situation above all things. Do your words seek to build up or tear down.
Verse 12 says They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death.
The only way we can stand against the accusation is to know that Yeshua died for us. By his blood we are forgiven, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. We stand behind Yeshua, for Yeshua, in Yeshua, and the accusations of the enemy can not penetrate. But our stance is one of defense, not offense.
Lastly, verse 15 says 15 And from out of his mouth, the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, in order to sweep her away with a flood.
A flood of words. A flood of words of accusation that are demonically inspired. How is this possible today? The media comes to mind. There is this flood of negative words that the media can use to make someone fall. Taking words out of context having nothing to do with the topic is used as the main focal argument against the person. Then taking opinions about those out of context words as facts without taking into account the full context. And finally not wanting to know what really happened just a predetermined motive to make the other look bad.
This also plays out within the body of Messiah. We find ourselves having critical thoughts about our leaders or those around us. And the key is to start praying for them instead of ONLY being critical tot he point of falling. Falling into the method of operation of fallen angels. In the body of Messiah is more difficult it seems because we place our leaders on par with Messiah. They are supposed to be the representative of him and have a lot to measure up to. They are usually seen as holy and perfect when they are not. And this makes it more difficult because you’re comparing him to the holiness of Yeshua.
It is true and biblical to go and confront a believer who is in sin, and this should not be done publicly. Confrontation does not have to be accusatory. First and foremost you should discern in your heart if you are honestly for the persons well being or are you seeking to tear them down. Are you pulling weeds in another persons garden? Are you his gardens tender or are you there to get them to seek the attention of the garden Keeper?
Are we seeking to rejoice in the destruction of another or are we truly seeking their benefit? It’s very easy to cross the line from confronting something or someone and accusing them. Accusation is a demonic spirit.
We are not to rejoice in another’s falling. We are not to seek it nor are we to relish it. God hates such things. Loving confrontation is a good thing, but not crossing the line into accusation.
Floods of accusation. The sickness of a critical spirit causes division. And gossip is the virus.
We need to ask in our heart am I here to attack this person or do I really want to know why/how they understand things? The confrontation is to make sure we are right, to make sure we understood the other person. Not to accuse them of anything.
The book of Job says the ear test words like the tongue tests food. This is the type of discernment we are to have when testing the words of others. Are they for the good of the person/group or does it seek to tear them down. Are they trying to understand the other or are they seeking to accuse the other above all things. There is a difference to the taste.
(This issue has always been a problem but it seems to be overly apparent in today’s world. I have suffered from much critical thought in my life. And it’s telling that the Frankfurt School developed the modern concept of critical thought, now that I think about it. Socialism embraces this method of thinking.
May we be aware of the ways of the fallen angels and their power over our airwaves. May we overcome them by the power of the lamb and the Spirit of God.

Rev 12
7 And war broke out in heaven, Michael and his angels making war against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they were not strong enough, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was thrown down—the ancient serpent, called the devil and satan, who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Anointed One, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters—the one who accuses them before our God day and night—has been thrown out. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death.
12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you with great rage, knowing that his time is short.
13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been thrown to the earth, he stalked the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 But the woman was given two wings of the great eagle, so that she might fly away from the presence of the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is taken care of—for a time, times, and half a time.
15 And from out of his mouth, the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, in order to sweep her away with a flood.
