(I've dealt with this topic many times before, both personally and publicly. Rabbi Asher Intrater and Cody Archer had some very interesting comments about about how we are to understand and deal with the spiritual sickness of critical thought that is prevalent in today's society. I have paraphrased the video and seek your thoughts? Is critical thinking ever justifiable?)

It is a disease of critical spirit which leads to divisiveness. You can see it in the whole of society. Being overly critical to the point of accusation. Trying to make them look bad or to fall. This forces division.

This is spiritual, a spiritual sickness all around the world. Everyone is out to get the other.

This type of critical spirit effects everything, it is Geo-political. It pervades politics, religion, social/ethnic groups. This is a red flag that there is a spiritual root to all of this.

Rev 12
7 And war broke out in heaven, Michael and his angels making war against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they were not strong enough, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was thrown down—the ancient serpent, called the devil and satan, who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Anointed One, for the accuser of our brothers and sistersthe one who accuses them before our God day and night—has been thrown out. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death.

12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you with great rage, knowing that his time is short.

13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been thrown to the earth, he stalked the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 But the woman was given two wings of the great eagle, so that she might fly away from the presence of the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is taken care of—for a time, times, and half a time.

15 And from out of his mouth, the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, in order to sweep her away with a flood.

When it says war broke out in heaven we know it is speaking of a spiritual battle. Verse 9 refers to Genesis in the garden of Eden where this started, and it says Satan was cast down and deceived the entire world. In verse 10 it also calls him the accuser of the brethren. Think about these two different categories of how the devil operates. A fallen angel does two things, they tempt and deceive the unbelievers, and they accuse the believers. Both of which are a set of lies.

It’s one lie to tempt you to do something wrong, and there is another lie to accuse you of doing something wrong. In Torah you condemn the wicked and justify the righteous. So the devil is doing just the opposite. He tempts by speaking lies to people to deceive them, and then he accuses the people who try to do right.

So when you see people living in sins you know they have obviously been deceived. And conversely when you try to start to do something right then this temptation to do something wrong turns into an accusation against you. In this way the devil tempts the world and accuses the righteous. Satan’s highest role is probably accusing the brethren.

We all do this a little bit. We find something that we disagree with the rabbi or pastor or an online poster and we start to bicker to ourselves, to our family, or we spend hours contending with them online. And to be honest there is something evil in that, but it feels good. You think you’re being righteous. You’re going to show them what they did wrong. But this is exactly where you need to watch out. It is the devil who is the accuser.

Solution?

All this is not to say we can’t examine and discern the situation. But the difference is are we trying to hear what could be good and uplifting to the person, group or situation. Or are we looking to make you fall and do you damage. We need to discern these things. And honestly ask are we for or against the person themselves, or seeking to uplift the person/situation above all things. Do your words seek to build up or tear down.

Verse 12 says They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death.

The only way we can stand against the accusation is to know that Yeshua died for us. By his blood we are forgiven, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. We stand behind Yeshua, for Yeshua, in Yeshua, and the accusations of the enemy can not penetrate. But our stance is one of defense, not offense.

Lastly, verse 15 says 15 And from out of his mouth, the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, in order to sweep her away with a flood.

A flood of words. A flood of words of accusation that are demonically inspired. How is this possible today? The media comes to mind. There is this flood of negative words that the media can use to make someone fall. Taking words out of context having nothing to do with the topic is used as the main focal argument against the person. Then taking opinions about those out of context words as facts without taking into account the full context. And finally not wanting to know what really happened just a predetermined motive to make the other look bad.

This also plays out within the body of Messiah. We find ourselves having critical thoughts about our leaders or those around us. And the key is to start praying for them instead of ONLY being critical tot he point of falling. Falling into the method of operation of fallen angels. In the body of Messiah is more difficult it seems because we place our leaders on par with Messiah. They are supposed to be the representative of him and have a lot to measure up to. They are usually seen as holy and perfect when they are not. And this makes it more difficult because you’re comparing him to the holiness of Yeshua.

It is true and biblical to go and confront a believer who is in sin, and this should not be done publicly. Confrontation does not have to be accusatory. First and foremost you should discern in your heart if you are honestly for the persons well being or are you seeking to tear them down. Are you pulling weeds in another persons garden? Are you his gardens tender or are you there to get them to seek the attention of the garden Keeper?

Are we seeking to rejoice in the destruction of another or are we truly seeking their benefit? It’s very easy to cross the line from confronting something or someone and accusing them. Accusation is a demonic spirit.

We are not to rejoice in another’s falling. We are not to seek it nor are we to relish it. God hates such things. Loving confrontation is a good thing, but not crossing the line into accusation.

Floods of accusation. The sickness of a critical spirit causes division. And gossip is the virus.

We need to ask in our heart am I here to attack this person or do I really want to know why/how they understand things? The confrontation is to make sure we are right, to make sure we understood the other person. Not to accuse them of anything.

The book of Job says the ear test words like the tongue tests food. This is the type of discernment we are to have when testing the words of others. Are they for the good of the person/group or does it seek to tear them down. Are they trying to understand the other or are they seeking to accuse the other above all things. There is a difference to the taste.

(This issue has always been a problem but it seems to be overly apparent in today’s world. I have suffered from much critical thought in my life. And it’s telling that the Frankfurt School developed the modern concept of critical thought, now that I think about it. Socialism embraces this method of thinking.

May we be aware of the ways of the fallen angels and their power over our airwaves. May we overcome them by the power of the lamb and the Spirit of God.

Thoughts?)

Thoughts?)

I think you are onto a key thing about the critical atmosphere that is around the world now, that wants to belittle people, make out like the other side in any political debate is entirely wrong in most all ways, for example, all-wrong-all-the-time.

(an aside, almost a separate topic: One thought about the enemy being an accuser (just as he was in the book of Job) -- it's like he wants all humans to fail to be righteous. Not just some, or just the ones moving in the right direction, or trying to follow Christ, but every one, 100% of people perhaps. He was before falling accusing all of humanity it seems, emphasizing their wrongs, magnifying what was bad and omitting what was good possibly? I wonder if he'd not only like to trip as many as possible, but also has a pride in trying to see that very few make it, or such. Like to prove his point or something, like he thought humanity was so unworthy of serving, so bad, that he'd prefer just wholesale failure of all humans. God has other plans though, in His Grace.)

Here's something worth repeating more than once or twice:

"It is true and biblical to go and confront a believer who is in sin, and this should not be done publicly. Confrontation does not have to be accusatory. First and foremost you should discern in your heart if you are honestly for the person's well being or are you seeking to tear them down."

Titus 3:2 to malign no one, and to be peaceable and gentle, showing full consideration to everyone.

Critical spirits are a reflection of the thoughts we entertain. We are told to fix our minds on specific subjects. If you’re inundated with vice, negativity, scorn and all the rest its impossible to employ Paul’s words.

Our first response is pruning and removing the deadened parts. We must fill the vessel with wholesome fruit and refuse to partake of the tree we’ve cast aside.

But we need to admit its payoff. Whenever we’re beset with negative behaviors and sins there’s usually a payoff. Criticism is often the result of rejection or an absence of love. Condemnation becomes a jailer that prevents the individual from being maimed but they’ve really become a porcupine.

Praying against the spiritual influences coupled with pruning and renewing our thoughts will result in a cleaner abode and a lighter spirit too.

Is it the accuser tempting people to take his part and accuse everyone else or has "The LORD set every man's sword against his fellow"?
Gideon! Well, how does Adonai do that? He gives them over to the devil who floods them with lies and confusion.

What is real cool about Gideon and the Midianites is God had given them a dream that the whole camp was going to be destroyed by the sword of Gideon. This was their watershed moment. They had two choices, bow down and submit or be delivered into the hand of Gideon's sword. Here is where it gets cool. The 300 men came without swords per say, they came with shofarot, pitchers and torches. They broke the pitcher and held the torch as they blew the shofar and shouted 'a sword for Adonai and for Gideon'. But where are the swords?

The only mention of a sword is that Adonai set every man's sword against the other throughout the camp of Midian. Israel's sword was the gospel of peace (deut 20:10)! If they do not answer with peace in return then Adonai delivers them over into the hands of their enemies. Sometimes Israel, sometimes the devil himself. Either way they die by the sword. Sometimes literally, sometimes by the figurative sword of peace that comes out of Israel's/Yeshua's mouth. When it is rejected or discounted, certain death comes.

It's interesting how all 300 of Israel never moved from standing around the camp as they blew the shofar and shouted "A Sword...." At the same times the Midianites set their swords to every fellow warrior, as they fled. It seems they may have thought that the Israelites had already stormed the camp and in a panic they didn't recognize the other and mistook them for an enemy and killed them. Once you see one person killing another you run to kill the killer, which is actually one of your own. Then in more panic you simply run away, as your killing your own people. Amazing, how Israel, by the power of Adonai, can win a battle without ever pulling a trigger. They usually are told to just stand there and let God do the actual battling.

Deut 20
20 “When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horse and chariot—a people more numerous than you—do not be afraid of them. For Adonai your God, the One who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you. 2 When you draw near to the battle, the kohen will come forward and speak to the people. 3 He will say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you are drawing near today to the battle against your enemies. Don’t be fainthearted! Don’t fear or panic or tremble because of them. 4 For Adonai your God is the One who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies to save you.’

Which brings me back to the OP. It's a spiritual battle that has ramifications and effects in our physical world. It's not the deceived who are waging war against us, it's the Commander of their army, Satan, who is working through them. And, it's not the believers who are waging war against them, it's the Lord of Hosts, Adonai Tzvaot who goes with us and fights for us against our enemy.

The adversary always mimics Adonai. If Adonai pours living waters out of his mouth continuously for the healing of the nations, Satan spews out a flood of water out his mouth continuously to destroy all nations. Ephesians 6:12

16 But the earth came to the aid of the woman. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth. 17 So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring—those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Yeshua. 18 And he stood on the shore of the sea.
The earth was sacrificed for the sake of the woman. The earth swallowed the river of critical words from the dragon. The world became a footstool.

Revelation 18 TLV
23 And the light of a lamp
shall never shine in you again!
And the voice of the bridegroom and bride
shall never be heard in you again!
For your businessmen were the tycoons of the world,
for all the nations were deceived by your sorcery!
24 And in her was found the blood of the prophets and kedoshim
and all those slaughtered on the earth.”

Thoughts?)

You introduced a Flood of Words, which were indeed Critical, and yet in them I do detect a Lie, and as such I also detect the overtones of a self fulling prophecy.

When we add to the Word, we do not leave room for the appropriate precepts to fill in the blanks, which is a diminishing of the truth, and when we diminish (leave out) pertinent precepts from a dissertation, we find it necessary to add extra-biblical content to fill in the otherwise obvious gaps.

The phenomena in which I believe you are touching upon is a Characteristic trait of a child of perdition, namely, the propensity of one who looks for error, as opposed to looking for that which is appropriate (righteous), seek and one shall find.

There is a difference between looking for something (to be) wrong, and noticing something that is not in alignment with truth, yet only a critical mind can discern the difference.

As for the Lie which I detected, it ironically pertains to your take on Revelations 12, and the Flood spewing out of the Dragon's Mouth (spokesman), which you presume to be Lies, then you reiterate the concept of the Flood of Lies as if it were an attribute one can expect find in Satan.

The scriptures record three dialogues where Satan speaks, 1) in the garden with Eve, 2) in the story of Job, and 3) the temptation of Yésʰûʷəʰ on the Mount, and in neither of these cases is there a flood of information depicted as spewing from his mouth.

In Isaiah 28 (however) Yésʰûʷəʰ (the Lord) has a Mighty one (an Angel Sent) who is like a Flood of Raging Waters, and he casts to the ground the Crown of Pride, and sweeps away the refuge of lies with that same Flood, annulling thereby the covenant with death.

Yet, to whom shall he teach Knowledge, and to whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Those who are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast, for precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little, with stammering lips and a foreign tongue shall he speak, sounds awfully Critical to me.

How Many Signs did Yésʰûʷəʰ say that the 2nd advent generation will be given?

Just One, not Two, now try read Revelations 12 again, though it speaks of Two great Signs appearing in Heaven, these Two Signs are nevertheless One (in the same).

Both the Woman with Child, and the Tanah 'Dragon' represents two perspectives of the Earth, the first Sign depicts Earth as a Woman with child, (see Isaiah 66) where an eclipse of the Sun and the Moon (in array) appear antipodal to Îsʰraəl (the crown of 12 stars).

The second Sign portrays the Earth (The Rock and Consuming Fire Seated on the throne aka heaven) as a Tanah 'Dragon', because they referred to the Master of the house as Beelzebub.

The same word for 'Dragon' (Tanah) is the same word for 'Whale' (Tanah), those who trust and rely on the words of Yésʰûʷəʰ, expect the Master of the House to Come, and those who did not believe his report referred to the Spirit of Truth as Beelzebub.

So when you read, and the Earth came to the Woman's rescue by opening it's Mouth, and swallowing the Flood, you are seeing the (inhabitants of the) Earth Swallowing-Believing the Testimony of the Mouth-Spokesman of Zion-Earth, and (in a parable fashion) the Earth Opens it's Mouth (reveals a particular opening), and Swallows the Flood of Believers into it's (interior) belly, as Jonah was Swallowed (and preserved thereby), safeguarding them from the atmospheric inferno reserved for the great and dreadful day.

Alignment: Isaiah 28 pertains to a Crown of Glory who as a Flood sweeps away a refuge of Lies, along with Death, thereby indicating an end time passage that has yet to be fulfilled.

Of course there is much more to say on the matter, but I do not believe this thread is the appropriate place to post such a Flood of information.

Most interesting to me, the passage does not refer to the Lies of the Jews, nor to the Lies of the World, it specifies, and points out the Crown of Pride of Apʰrîyém, which (bulk wise) is Christianity, that's right, the refuge of lies which result in their Covenant with Death.

It is a disease of critical spirit which leads to divisiveness. You can see it in the whole of society. Being overly critical to the point of accusation. Trying to make them look bad or to fall. This forces division.

I think one "trying" to make the other look bad while knowing all the they're exaggerating is sin. It's born from a spirit of wanting to manipulate and deceive which is really a form of self-exaltation.

We need to ask in our heart am I here to attack this person or do I really want to know why/how they understand things?

I think sometimes we do know why and how they understand a thing but if we challenge their position it should be done in love and by showing much diplomacy. Jesus told us to be wise as serpents BUT as harmless as doves. So many don't take seriously the last part so one can be right about what they're saying but they themselves are still wrong if you get my meaning.

I would love to speak with you more about whales(fish) of the sea that may or not be kosher and a shedding of such like a skin. Certainly a noble thought to consider where both iyov and yonah are concerned.

What stood out to me Is the 24 books of the TaNaKh like letters and or crowns laid at The feet of Our Lord.
Though there may be many letters written by witnesses as called by some an additional number of books.

In the spirit I see Only a single message of
The TaNaKh Fullfilled and testified from Matthew to yochanan in Revelation.
Brit Hadassah.

Blessed be the Holy One
