Say I went out and created a new kind of dating app.

The app would match people in a new way based upon compatibility. It would work equally well for straight, as gay couples.

Is it immoral to match gay & lesbian couples in the app? I mean I'm not trying to get anyone to sin against god. But then again, if I leave them out, I know the press will eviscerate us as "bigoted", and we could lose $ and market-share.

Thoughts?

That's gonna be a huge problem.

Another problem is I think there's already apps out there that has the same feature as your app.

For example, Facebook already does a very sophisticated job of matching people.... While facebook does not yet advertise itself as a date matching app (as far as I know), their matching feature works quite well.

Facebook's matching feature seem also capable of determining compatibility by facial features...Face match isn't actually just for fun, there's emerging science behind it, pioneered by the Israelis and could fairly determine someone's personality and inclination based on facial features. Scary huh?

Anyone can test this feature in Facebook by creating a new account using a made-up name and identity (only use this account to search for candidates but still use your original FB account to try to add and message matches from your original account :) ... But for the facial match to work, you need to use your actual picture.

lol. I guess it depends on how you did it. It would be pretty funny if your app matched members identifying as lesbians to members identifying as male homosexuals. Ground breaking really - I think there's some market share there.

There are too many dating sites as it is, but that's not what you asked.

I wouldn't match same-sex couples, but I wouldn't match divorced people either.

This is pretty much my take. The end of Romans 1 talks about how people who, sinfully, not only sin but give approval to others who do as well. I know I would not be able to run a dating site like that in good conscience, but regardless of conscience I think it is playing with fire.

Facebook Groups would be the best place to start. Look for Quiverfull groups. They can point you to others in your region. You may encounter them in the group as well.

There is nothing creative or original about what you are wanting to do. I'd almost guarantee it's going to lose you tons of money, and you'd be way better off trying out a different venture.
