Christ is the beginning = Creator. And the end = Judge.

KJV Dictionary Definition: JUSTIFICA'TION, n. In theology, remission of sin and absolution from guilt and punishment; or an act of free grace by which God pardons the sinner and accepts him as righteous, on account of the atonement of Christ.

KJV Dictionary Definition: REDEMP'TION, n.In theology, the purchase of God's favor by the death and sufferings of Christ; the ransom or deliverance of sinners from the bondage of sin and the penalties of God's violated law by the atonement of Christ. In whom we have redemption through his blood. Eph 1:7

The sinless Christ's redemptive sacrificial sin atonment. Paid in full, the laws required wage for sin, Death (Rom 6:23).

When we place our faith in Christ's death (sins required wage, paid in full) burial (proof Christ died) & resurrection (God's receipt, payment received & accepted).

God then imputes/transfers our sins onto Christ & Christ's righteousness onto us (Lev 4 & Rom 4:22-25).

2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
(NOTE: Thru Christ's faithful sin atoning payment & our faith placxed in it/Him. Our sins are imputed onto Christ & Christ's righteousness is imputed onto Christ.

KJV Dictionary Definition: SANCTIFICA'TION, n. The act of making holy, the act of consecrating or of setting apart for a sacred purpose; consecration.

So, to sanctify, something is to set it apart for special use. The moment we believe/trust place our faith in Christ's Sin atoning death, burial & resurrection. God saves (justifies), seal's us with His Holy Spirit) & sanctifies (sets us apart, for a work/mission Eph 2:10)

At the moment we truly make the decision to trust Christ we are justified/saved & sanctified.

Our salvation is forever secure. Sanctification is a process that continues, until our final redemption. When we meet the Lord & receive a new incorruptible/heavenly body.

Eph 1:
13 In Christ you trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(NOTE: The moment we are saved, God ""SEALS"" us with His Holy Spirit, its His promise to us)

14 Which is the "earnest" of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession
(NOTE: Earnest means - down payment. The indwelling Holy Spirit is our down payment that keeps/guards us until the final day. When we receive our glorified incorruptible/heavenly body.

2 Tim 1:14 The Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you

2 cor 1:22 Who hath also "sealed us" & "given the earnest" of the Holy Spirit in our hearts

So, the life long sanctification process begins: the moment we are justified = saved, sanctified = set apart for Godly work in Christ.

Your salvation is not forever secure. When you were saved, you asked forgiveness for your past sins, not future sins. Jesus' blood upon being born again was applied to your past sins.
Rom 3:25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
Therefore, unless you lead a sanctified life, you cannot presume that you are "forever saved." One must repent when one sins as our present and future sins are not automatically forgiven.

Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

King James Bible dictionary say's; believers sins are PARDONED.

Vines Bible dictionary say's; the believers sin forgiveness is UNCONDITIONAL.

When the Holy Spirit reveals that to the believer, they've miss the mark/sinned & we all will. We are to thank & praise God for the forgiveness ALREADY PROVIDED via our Great God & Savior, Jesus the Christ.

Although, a believers sin may result in negative consequence. It WILL NOT result in the loss of salvation (1 Cor 3:11-15).

Your sanctification seems 'life long' because the repentance from sin was false.

I believe the OP speaks to your question here:

KJV Dictionary Definition: SANCTIFICA'TION, n. The act of making holy, the act of consecrating or of setting apart for a sacred purpose; consecration.

So, to sanctify, something is to set it apart for special use. The moment we believe/trust place our faith in Christ's Sin atoning death, burial & resurrection. God saves (justifies), seal's us with His Holy Spirit) & sanctifies (sets us apart, for a work/mission Eph 2:10)

Not posted that also would speak to your question is, REWARDS! Anything done during this sanctification process. To include even a drink of water given in Christ's name (Matt 10:42, Mk 9:41) will receive a reward. Peter asks what will we receive for our works done in your name. Jesus tells Peter he will sit on a throne & judge the tribes (Matt 19:28). And finally Jesus say's; I come quickly & my rewards are with me (Rev 22:12).

Spirit is given as earnest meaning down payment. Down payment toward what? Our eventual glorification provided that we persevere in our sanctification. Down payment does not complete the transaction - only promises that God through the Holy Spirit is faithful. Humans are not always faithful and can apostatize from the faith.
I prefer to quote from Scripture instead of a mere Bible dictionary:
Rom 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
Paul warned the brethren in Rome that if they lived in chronic sin, they will die; i.e. spiritual death. You also neglected to note that in Rom 3:25 Paul wrote that only our PAST SINS were forgiven which clearly contradicts your notion.

There is where we differ.
You believe a "believer" will continue to commit sin after his "alleged" conversion and I don't.
Your sanctification seems 'life long' because the repentance from sin was false.

Yes our views differ, no harm no foul. We also differ on what repentance means.

It's unfortunate that people invariably tie the word REPENTANCE to sin.

There are many OT verses where a SINLESS God repents. Gen 6:6-7, Deut 32:36, Jud 2:18, 1 Sam 15:11 & 29 to name a few.
Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
(NOTE: These gentiles REPENTED FROM NOTHING, had not been water baptized, they had brought no temple sacrifice, hadn't obeyed any Mosaic laws etc. By/thru Faith & Faith alone they were FOREVER SEALED with/by God's Holy Spirit. A Spiritual baptism/circumcision, done without hands: Col 2:11, done by Christ & Christ alone Matt 3:11)

Additional context:

Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
(NOTE: Repentance TOWARD God, for the Jew that had a covenant with God. He was to return to serving God. To the gentile that never had God. He was to acknowledge that God is. 2ndly, Faith TOWARD our Lord Jesus Christ. The Jew was to acknowledge Jesus was their promised Messiah. The gentile was to place their faith in Christ's death, burial & resurrection)

Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
(NOTE: Repentance isn't a requirement for salvation. Repentance is a result of one's faith. God grants/gives us the ability to repent & to turn from ungodly/dead works. It's this granted God given repentance that leads to Godly works. A result/fruit that process from of one's faith)

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
(NOTE: It's not thru our greatness of obedience that we repent/change our thinking outlook. It's the indwelling Holy Spirit that leads us to repent/change our thinking outlook).

Romans 1:5 ""Through him we received grace"" & apostleship ""to call all the Gentiles to the obedience"" ""that comes from faith"" for his name’s sake.
(NOTE: FAITH leads to obedience)

Romans 16:26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, ""so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience"" ""that comes from faith""
(NOTE: It's thru FAITH that gentiles are brought to obedience/repentance/godly living)

Eph 4:30 explains what the down payment is on. Paul uses the term earnest because it was a common legal term used at the slave market. You won a slave bidding. You left the earnest/down payment. The slave was put aside and kept until you came back to claim him. Christ bought us with a price (His Blood) gives us His promise (Holy Spirit) and when he returns the final part of the transaction is completed when He give us a new eternal incorruptible body.

I believe the OP speaks to your question here;
KJV Dictionary Definition: SANCTIFICA'TION, n.

Even you say it isn't a 'life long' ordeal, but happens "at the moment we believe...".
What gives?
I feel you are combining the meanings of more than one event in your thesis.
We are sanctified by the blood of Christ...right?
That blood was applied to me at my "immersion" into Christ and into His death.
I was sanctified at my baptism in Jesus' name for the remission of my past sins.
Event...concluded.
Now I grow in grace and knowledge, by the grace of God...but I am already atoned for, consecrated, set apart, made holy, etc.

Not posted that also would speak to your question is, REWARDS! Anything done during this sanctification process. This is just muddying the water, so to speak.
Rewards don't equate to or warrant sanctification.

I said/posted that sanctification happens at the moment of receiving the eternal seal of salvation (Holy Spirit) & that sanctification (being set aside for a purpose/work) was an ongoing/life long process.

2ndly, I never said rewards warrant anything. I said Christ is going to reward any works (we've been set apart for) done in His name. I will leave our conversation here at: we can agree to disagree. Best wishes...

I already wrote that the earnest is a down payment. The transaction is made complete upon glorification/incorruptible body. However completion of the transaction is dependent upon us making final claim by persevering in trust and obedience. That is not guaranteed. That is why Paul warned the Roman brethren to keep living according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh in Rom 8:13.

You contradict yourself here.
Is it at our "receiving" or a life long process?
Frankly, your supplied scripture (Eph 1:13) didn't back up your point.

2ndly, I never said rewards warrant anything. I said Christ is going to reward any works (we've been set apart for) done in His name.
I can agree with that...oh blessed brevity.
Though that isn't sanctification. It is the result of an already completed sanctification.

I will leave our conversation here at: we can agree to disagree. Best wishes...
Your OP included too many subjects, and only confused the points you made.

Nope.

For in Romans 7, and into that part of Romas 8, Paul has been dealing with the issue of the spiritual failure (spiritual death or inability) that atttepting to serve God in the flesh (via one's own strength) results in. Having established the Salvation issue in Romans 3 thru 5, He is now dealing with Sanctification, not Salvation issues, in Romans 6 thru the 1st half, or so, of Romans 8.

While the "past" being referred to in Romans 3:25 is to "the sins" of all Believers who lived before Christ died for sin. Paul is talking about God having passed over the sins of past Believers, in His forbearance, that is, as He looked to His Son's coming death on the Cross one day:

Romans 3:25 whom God set forth [to be] a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;

Nevertheless, Romans 5: 6-8 - in each our stead.

What is the purpose and the function of Baptism in the life of the Believer.

In relation to Justification, Redemption, Sanctification where is Baptism located? ie, .... Mar. 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Where then is this Sanctification process you speak of, where does it say as you have provided above, we now have a Sanctification process that will be walked out for the remainder of our natural lives?

Because, what you have said about what happens to the Believer above (IN RED) contradicts what your saying it says.

You contradict yourself here.
Is it at our "receiving" or a life long process?
Frankly, your supplied scripture (Eph 1:13) didn't back up your point.
At the moment we truly make the decision to trust Christ we are justified/saved & sanctified.

Here is what the OP stated:

We are - sanctified/set apart for a sacred purpose/work at the same moment we are saved/indwellt with the Holy Spirit. The sanctification process (set apart for a sacred purpose/work) continues until life's end Respectfully, I see no contradiction.

See post #17
Lev 8:10 And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.
(NOTE: Moses took the anointing oil (a shadow of the Holy Spirit) & anointed the tabernacle instruments to sanctify = set them apart for a special work)

Lev 8:30 And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
(NOTE: Moses took the anointing oil (a shadow of the Holy Spirit) and anoints Aaron to sanctify/set him apart for Priestly work. That would continue until Aaron dies)

Lev 10:3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

When Christ anoints/indwells/seals us with his Holy Spirit we are sanctified/set apart for a prestly work Eph 2:10 that continues throughout our life. Again, no contradiction stated.

If what you are saying is true, did all of the Implements of the Temple which were Sanctified by Anointing Oil and noting which was used was not Sanctified by Anointing Oil, that these Implements had an ongoing Sanctification Process, as your saying we do, owing to the fact they as well as us have been set apart for Gods use.

It's not until after, thru faith, we apply/appropriate Christ shed blood. That Christ anoints/indwells/saves & sanctifies us with His Holy Spirit.
