Well salvation can be God's sole responsibility, the inevietable destination of every single one of the elect (believers, justified, born again) and still require participation. If you were my Dad, you bought me a car I never drove, wouldn't you be puzzled?

Sanctification is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. You get a big bucket of blue love, joy, peace...in this veil of tears and never use it? What kind of salvation is that? No where does the New Testament are we warned your going to lose salvation if you don't watch out. You are told to walk according to the Spirit (Rom. 8:1- ...I don't know all of them.)

Why does salvation have to see like digging ditches in the rain? It's walking according to the power of the Holy Spirit, not the prince of the power of the air.

Jesus found me, he introduced me to the Holy Spirit, I've never spent a day alone since. I guess I could be more diligent about my spiritually, vut he had never threarened to toss me out of Christ, not that his disappeoval is any picnic.
Ah, but I didn’t ask about participation. I asked about responsibility.

For instance, I’m responsible for the raising of my children, even though they are participants. ;)

Nope. Just looking to start a discussion. So many folks think that salvation can be lost.

I’m not a Calvinist but I agree with you that salvation cannot be lost!

Who is responsible for our sanctification?

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
— Romans 8:29

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
— Philippians 2:12-13

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.
— 1 Corinthians 15:10

Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
— Hebrews 13:20-21

If you are able to see yourself as a trinity, spirit soul and body. When you become a Christian, your spirit is made perfect. You are 100% sanctified. Your journey is to renew your mind to that truth.

It is much easier when you are already there, rather than trying to get there.

If it's all God and we don't have to do anything, I guess we can stop going to church and hearing sermons about obeying...
I don’t know anyone who is arguing that we don’t need to do anything.

Which ones? All of them. If you’d like for me to give a short exposition, I will.
Let's just use your first citation as an example.
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
Romans 8:29
Those whom He predestined, He also called in v.30. Eternal security people like to point out that whom God predestines, he also calls, also justifies, also glorifies. Therefore, it must be all of God and we have nothing at all to do with our own sanctification. That is false. The word for "called" in v.20 is from the Greek "kaleo." This word is also found in Galatians 1:6 where Paul testifies that those Galatians who were also "called" were turning away from Christ to follow a different gospel. Thus we we who are called have a choice whether to remain faithful to our calling or become apostate by turning away to follow another gospel. Sanctification is our choice - by no means automatic.

That’s nice. But what does v. 29 say?

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
— Romans 8:29

Who is predestined to be conformed? If God predestines something, I’m sure it will happen.

Sorry, you will need to elaborate.
I asked, who is responsible? Like I said to someone earlier, I am responsible for raising my children. They are not partly responsible, even though obedience is required.

Keep on working with fear and trembling to complete your salvation, ... In the same way continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Got scripture for that?

God is responsible for my sanctification, not me. I don't get sanctified by how I live. I am sanctified based off of Who lives in me.

"But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:11

"For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified." Hebrews 10:14

Grace and Peace.

The Holy Spirit works through the True Church.
The true church Jesus builds and is a Habitation for God in the Spirit.

In the man made organizations, there's no such thing as a true church.

Got scripture for that?

Philippians 2:12, NIV: "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,"

I do not believe that because.
Much of the Bible is written to the Church

Bible mentions pastors, elders and deacons.
These are found in the local churches.

Good point.
I can't get there on my own.

But, we do need to examine ourselves often.

The Holy Spirit also helps with that one.

I already anticipated your response and answered it. If God predestined and called us in vs.29-30, why do those who are predestined/called in Gal 1:6 becoming apostate?

Nope. Just looking to start a discussion. So many folks think that salvation can be lost. But if sanctification is God’s responsibility, then that is impossible.

So are you saying that even if someone seemed like she fell away from her childhood faith, God will bring her back to salvation no later than her last breath?
