Do you believe it is acceptable to speak of The Lord Jesus Christ as...."next in line for the job"?We're waiting for Satan to be deposed as ruler of this age. Christ is next in line for the job.

Relatively, he is in charge of all society. Remember society is pernicious, children of disobedience. (all society)I don't think Satan is in charge. He can influence. He can lie and persuade and tempt and accuse and disturb and compete for followers, but he is not in charge.

Hello Darren,
- Hey everybody, the pastor at my church said something interesting yesterday, He said we often pray God is in control, which I have done myself, but there is no where in the Bible does that says God is in control of this world. He said that actually the devil is in control down here. He quoted "I will not talk with you much longer, because the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me." John 14:30 and " Now is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out." John 12:31. Just wondering your thoughts. Wondering if you guys agree and if not is there anywhere in the Bible that says God is in control of the world? Thanks.
Read Job 1 and 2. Notice how God and Satan talk about Job. God only lets Satan afflict Job so far. At first, he allows him to take away Job's possessions and family. Then, he allows him to take away his health but not his life--all as tests for Job's faith. The main lesson of the book is that "faith endures." However, Satan is under God's control so that believers can grow to be more like him.

You are too hung up on the word control. The Bible says He created everything and does the created rule over the creator? If you dont understand the Sovereignty/Authority that God alone has then you are ignorant of who and what He is. He gave Satan his power, Satan didn't get it for himself. God created good and evil for His purpose. Satan has no choice but to fulfill his destiny. Does that make God evil? Not at all...but evil can only manifest it's power through man's free will to choose to give in to his temptations. Satan cannot manifest any power except through man. His only power is to tempt mankind into committing sins against God's Commandments. Even Christians have authority over Satan and his demons through Christ.
The OT view of Satan is different than the modern view. The NT shows some of each. In Job, Satan is God's prosecuting attorney. It's his job to test people.ISame with Job when Satan shows up and God has to ask "where ya coming from". Anyway..
Why would anyone assume that Satan is telling the truth here?if we keep reading when Satan was tempting Jesus he said "this was given/handed to me and I can give it to anyone I want".
Via Crucis already explained that "the world" is often used to describe a world order that is contrary to God, not the actual world. Furthermore, the actual quote isWhen they took Jesus.. He said "if this was my kingdom my servants would fight".
This looks like a quote from 2 Cor 4:4. Again, Paul is using "world" in a restricted sense. After all, what he's claiming is that Christ is Lord, which means he is the true ruler of the world. And the NT talks about more of WHO the god of this world was.
Nothing in creation, which includes everything except the Creator, happens unless God causes or permits it.

God is powerful, omnipotent and healing. For the long run, it is better to seek God than illicit gains. I read Acts about how God instructed a Gentile centurion to send for Peter who was staying with Simon the tanner by the sea in Joppa. God instructed Peter to not fear eating food that was not Kosher, nor refuse to associate with Gentiles, but to go with the men who were arriving. Peter met them as they arrived and went with them to Caesarea with some of his disciples. He preached the Gospel and people in the house of Cornelius received the Holy Spirit allowing God to pray to them too. God can not control those who refuse God’s advice.

Faith is a gift not a choice.
Amen.Is God controlling Satan's actions? Not according to the Bible. God says it never entered his mind that his people would sacrifice their kids to idols. Jesus said Satan is prince of this world. Really, man gave Satan rule, God only allowed free choices. Allowed and caused are very difference. Allow and control are worlds apart.
We are in a war, we win some battles and lose some. In the midst of which we learn to walk by faith and power, just like David the shepherd boy did.
Even Paul was not always successful in what he set out to do.-
1Thes2v18Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
If God is in control of everything, why didn't he just slap Satan out of Paul's way so he could carry on with the mission?
You are making things up. If that was the case, Paul would have said so.maybe God had something better for Paul to do. Somewhere to go where God would get more glory
