Death and Hades are cast into the fire. Hades is the section of Sheol where the unrepentant wicked are kept until the day of judgment.

No, according to the KJV, it is "Death and Hell" that are cast in. Your attempt to recast Hell as Hades in order to avoid the absurdity of Hell being cast into Hell does not escape me. Anyway it should read "Death and the Grave," not "Hell." Further, please state where the Bible tells us that Sheol has "sections."

The "lake of fire" refers to Hell, absolute separation from God and therefore from everything good. There is no actual "fire" of course. Fire as we know it, requiring fuel and oxygen, is part of the physical universe. Fire is used as a symbol of Hell because being in it is the most painful thing we can imagine on Earth. The absolute pain of Hell will be far worse than simply being in fire, worse than we can possibly imagine.

I believe this to be an indirect reference to the Lake of Fire:
"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." Kolasis aionion -Matthew 25:46-

Isn't there a danger in the belief of universal salvation? That you don't feel the need to repent?
Jer 17:27Fire and brimstone - Wikipedia
Fire and brimstone (or, alternatively, brimstone and fire)
is an idiomatic expression of referring to God's wrath in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and the New Testament. In the Bible, it often appears in reference to the fate of the unfaithful. Brimstone, an archaic term synonymous with sulfur,[1] evokes the acrid odor of sulphur dioxide given off by lightning strikes.[2] Lightning was understood as divine punishment by many ancient religions; the association of sulphur with God's retribution is common in the Bible. The English phrase "fire and brimstone" originates in the King James Bible....................
Brimstone was not only associated with the wrath of God or judgment but it was also used as a purifying agent. The Greek Orthodox would burn brimstone to ward off evil and disease.[citation needed] This is why God's breath is compared to brimstone and why brimstone is often used in carrying out divine judgment. That is, the brimstone is used to purify the land from evil.
According to Jewish historian, Josephus, "Now this country is then so sadly burnt up, that nobody cares to come at it;... It was of old a most happy land, both for the fruits it bore and the riches of its cities, although it be now all burnt up. It is related how for the impiety of its inhabitants, it was burnt by lightning; in consequence of which there are still the remainders of that divine fire; and the traces (or shadows) of the five cities are still to be seen,..." (The Jewish War, book IV, end of ch. 8, in reference to Sodom.)...........................

In the very end .... God will destroy everything, including sin ... and sin is what causes death.
Malachi 4:1
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch (nothing left, totally destroyed, consumed).
Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
2 Thessalonians 1:9
They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
Romans 9:22
What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
2nd Peter 9
9 The Lord does not want any person to be punished forever. He wants all people to be sorry for their sins and turn from them. 10 The day of the Lord will come as a robber comes. The heavens will pass away with a loud noise. The sun and moon and stars will burn up. The earth and all that is in it (death and sin, sinful wicked) will be burned up. (all totally burned up ... non-existant)
11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, you should think about the kind of life you are living. It should be holy and God-like. 12 You should look for the day of God to come. You should do what you can to make it come soon. At that time the heavens will be destroyed by fire. And the sun and moon and stars will melt away with much heat.
13 We are looking for what God has promised, which are new heavens and a new earth. Only what is right and good will be there. AMEN!
Revelation 20:14
Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death--the lake of fire.
1 Corinthians 15:26
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
Isn't there a danger in the belief of universal salvation? That you don't feel the need to repent?
Thank you for citing that verse as it is often used by those who believe in eternal security claiming that believers are saved - no matter what. However they neglect to note what "by fire" means. I believe you have the correct interpretation as failing to abide as a believer in this life results in salvation by fire in the next life; i.e. in the Lake of Fire.I believe this to be an indirect reference to the Lake of Fire:
"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." I Corinthians 3:13-15 (KJV)
"Forever and Ever" is never found in the Greek in terms of salvation. Nor is it found in Hebrew. It would be as long as what ever "Forever and Ever" is.

Matthew 25:46 (KJV)--And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Note that both words everlasting and eternal in this verse are translated from the same Greek word, αἰώνιος aiōnios, which means eternal, everlasting, or forever, according to Olive tree Enhanced Strong's Dictionary.)
The word used in Matthew 25:46, αἰώνιος aiōnios (166 in Strong's), is from αἰών aiōn (165 in Strong's), which can mean a period of time or age, but it can also mean forever or eternity.
I'm no Greek scholar, but it appears from this study that Jesus was saying there will be eternal (i.e. lasting forever) punishment.
STRONG’S NUMBER: g0166--This is the term used in Matthew 25:46 for the word everlasting and for the word eternal.
g0166. αἰώνιος aiōnios; from 165; perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as well): — eternal, for ever, everlasting, world (began).
AV (71) - eternal 42, everlasting 25, the world began + g5550 2, since the world began + g5550 1, for ever 1;
I. without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be
II. without beginning
III. without end, never to cease, everlasting
This is the term that 166 was from:
g0165. αἰών aiōn; from the same as 104; properly, an age; by extension, perpetuity [eternity] (also past); by implication, the world; specially (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future): — age, course, eternal, (for) ever(-more), (n-)ever, (beginning of the , while the) world (began, without end). Compare 5550.
AV (128) - ever 71, world 38, never + g3364 + g1519 + g3588 6, evermore 4, age 2, eternal 2, misc 5;
I. for ever, an unbroken age, perpetuity of time, eternity
II. the worlds, universe
III. period of time, age
