I must first say that I was brought up a Mormon and for anyone who has studied into that Religion or came out of it, like me---it is all about another Christ in so many ways. I merely accepted so much in their Doctrines and beliefs until age 40.

I had a son commit suicide in 1995 and I even found him in his death afterwards. I received the "Irresistible Grace of Christ" almost immediately and in the days, weeks and years that followed, that Grace has always has been---- truly irresistible. Enough to realize that the Bible was the only source of Truth as it gave me so much comfort which I now refer to as this "the Peace that passes all understanding". That has developed of course, into a real hunger for the Word. Long story short---I received from God or the Holy Spirit how to discern or a "test all things--hold fast to what is true" [I Thess. 5 :21, NKJV] and of course that brought me firmly out of my Mormon deceptions. My story is in book form in a book called simply The Peace that Passes all Understanding. And, I am continuing to write even more books.

This Forum seems to have far to have more stringent rules than the Christian Forum that I was on and I can see already that I will be comfortable here. I will try to follow the rules and I believe if we refuse to always learn from the Bible and even on a Forum such as this--we can end up with a "dead Faith" as the devil has placed so much in this world to get us of-track and decieved.

As my moniker says that I am a Lutheran--I guess I made a mistake somehow when I first registered. I actually have a 1st Baptist affiliation but, from what I understand the two Churches or Religions are not all that dissimilar. The Important thing is I am A CHRIST BELIEVER.

"The Peace That Passes All Understanding"...who could say no to that?!? So glad you were found by the Lord Jesus, and trusted in Him. Bless you.

Hello @Jamesone5, WELCOME TO CF  Thank you for telling us a little bit about yourself, especially about how God has/is working so powerfully in your life :)

God bless you! (Numbers 6:24-26)

--David

1 Thessalonians 5
23 May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

I see from your post that you are a fellow ex-Mormon. I am sure--- that like me it was hard at first to deny that Religion. Mormonism has us believing in a false sense of security.
Praise God that He led you out as well!

Welcome Brother in Jesus Christ!

Thank you.
I have felt this verse:

Ecclesiastes 3:4
A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;

How much more will we be in Joy and Laughter [ and even dancing] when we meet our Savior!

Hello Jamesone5,

I was all smiley when I was reading your post. I can feel your joy and peace that is overflowing in your life. It’s not only you who is happy about your new life but the host of heaven also celebrated you when you came to this saving grace (Luke 15:7) One thing that is so different about Christian faith is this joy untold that you cannot explain to other people , like David will say in Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Keep the faith alive. I also like talking about faith and the bible. I do get a lot of Faith base resource for ages to explore
