Now, compare that to the thread title:

What you bolded in his quote refers to the "why 8/8 is significant in the White Supermecist movement", not "why Trump flew the flag at half mast".

Being that at no point did Obama's FBI Assistant Director for counterintelligence say anything remotely like "Flag at Half-Staff to Honor Adolf Hitler", we can remove that.

How about "Obama's FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence says the Details About Trump's Decision to Fly the Flag at Half Mast Demonstrates his Ignorance" or "Obama's FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Comments on Trump's Ignorance and Conservatives Misrepresent his Statement".

No, he's saying that Trump is ignorant of the significance of "8/8". He's trying to clarify that he doesn't think Trump did it deliberately, just that he thinks he's stupid.

Either way, the title of the thread as originally posted is an out and out lie. It's NOT what was said.

No. Because it still lies about what he said. He didn't say the flag is being flown as a tribute to Hitler, he's saying that neo Nazis will interpret it as such and Trump is ignorant of why.

What he said is that he doesn't believe Trump knew of the association between 8/8 and Hitler and that his decision demonstrated his ignorance. He did not say anything resembling "Flag at Half-Staff to Honor Adolf Hitler"

Hi all,

Well, I think that if we are going to adopt this position of flying the flag at half mast for a few days after every mass shooting, we're probably not ever going to raise it again. So far this year, depending on how you qualify mass shootings, we've had more than we've had days. However, even if you discount half of them as not qualifying for the honor of lowering the flag, by making the period that the flag is lowered several days, you're likely not ever going to raise that flag again.

We will be seen as the nation of raw gun violence that is always in retreat. What a great honor that must be for us.
