How much are you willing to pay for someone else's insurance?
Based on the @Mountainmanbob statistic, 12% more than we all pay right now (100/90= 1.11 so an additional 11% of current rate +1% to make sure to have made it) should cover it (this is assuming we don’t fix inefficiencies like ample paper pushing and shareholders wetting their beaks in the backs of someone’s illness; fix those and it might be even less) and I would not even bat an at having to pay for it. I improve my socioeconomic position and I would be quite willing to raise that threshold. If you can show me even back of a cocktail napkin math on what you think the cost would be, I am willing to discuss it. Would you be willing to pay 12% more than you currently do to make sure people aren’t dying in the streets due to lack of health care?
