Who the heck are you talking to? Certainly nobody around here. Most folks I know and virtually everybody around here is pretty open about Hillary's flaws.

What really bewilders us is the double standard on certain things. Hillary's emails are bad; Trump's obstruction of justice is fine. Uranium One is bad; selling nuke parts to the Saudis is fine. Self-dealing with the Clinton Foundation is bad; self-dealing with the Trump Foundation and the office of the presidency itself is fine. "Deplorables" is bad; Trump's constant name-calling and sniping is fine. Benghazi is bad; supporting the blockade in Qatar is fine. Van Jones' 9/11 Truther comment is bad (to go back to Obama); Trump's rampant birtherism is fine.

If conservatives had just held their nose and voted for him, nobody would be confused. It's the double standards and incessant fawning over him following the election that makes everybody question your sincerity.
We had only two choices. We rejected the worse of the two. Personally, I would have voted for Ben Carson, Herman Cain or Col. Allen West.

Yeah, I get that, and my post addresses that. The issue is less the 2016 election and more what we've witnessed every day since.

All the double standards you mentioned in your post is just the tip of the iceberg. It isn't liberals who are being accused of hypocrisy for supporting Trump after spending years condemning Bill Clinton for his adulterous womanizing and sexual scandals. It isn't liberals who are being accused of selling their souls to support Trump or accused of compromising their convictions and abandoning their principles.

Personally I find Hillary Clinton to be a rather unlikable person. But she is extremely intelligent and experienced. It is tragic that she has been the victim of a huge political smear campaign that has taken in a great many people who should have been far more skeptical. We are presently finding out the hard way that she was in fact actually the lesser of two evils.

I have seen an impulsively reactive (typical) New Yorker. An egotistical loud mouth who is a lot more crude than I would like him to be. But I have yet to see any policies I feel are detrimental to my country. He saved a dying economy that Obama swore was already gone and lost to us. And he likely would have solved the border problem if his hands had not been tied by BOTH houses of congress.

Trump's conservative Christian supporters still support and defend him despite the fact he bragged he could forcibly kiss a woman and grab her by her.... because he's a celebrity after they spent several years condemning Bill Clinton for his sexual deviant behavior toward women. Many of his supporters called his bragging "locker room banter" and "macho talk," but they never excused Clinton's sexual sins. They still support Trump despite the fact that he paid off a inappropriate content star to silence her about their affair after they spent years condemning Bill Clinton for committing adultery against his wife.

There wasn't a lesser than two evils during the last presidential election, but there was some obvious compromise of moral convictions and traditional Christian values on both sides of the political aisle.

If Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were the best candidates that each of these two major political parties could produce to represent their moral values and political views, then the political system in this country has surely fallen into chaos and is in dire need of a major widespread political overhaul.

In that same tape snuck in that bus, he also "said" he could not control himself whenever he saw a pretty woman. But go back and look at the video of him as they got off that bus, going to meet a beautiful woman. He was a gentleman and the guy who secretly taped him acted like a horny 15 year-old kid.

Let me see if I understand this way of thinking... He didn't force himself on that one woman he met, so therefore, he isn't a sexual predator and the fact that he sexually groped multiple other women he forced himself on doesn't really matter because he controlled himself when he met that one woman?

I am 74 years old. At least half of that time I have facilitated felony Sex Offender classes. I know the eye movements and the body language. Trump is crude and doubtlessly pushy when it comes to sexual relationships, but he is no pervert.

I imagine most Christians who voted for Trump just didn't want a godless baby murder in office. And Hillary has supported both those positions.

Exactly. I voted for President Trump and I am not sorry at all. I was not voting for a pastor or Priest, I was voting for someone who could fix America after the last guy ruined this great country. GOD BLESS PRESIDENT TRUMP! FYI I am no evangelical but I am a Christian who cares about America even if many don't anymore.

I'm not talking about policies. I'm talking about fawning, defending wrong-doing, and arguably outright idolatry.

To draw an analogy from my own life:

I live in Baltimore and I'm a registered Democrat. The front-runners in the last Democrat mayoral primary (which is, effectively, also the general election) were State Senator Catherine Pugh and former mayor Sheila Dixon. Dixon resigned her previous term about 10 years ago when she was indicted for embezzling money from the city (she ultimately pled guilty to a misdemeanor). Pugh wasn't exactly an electrifying candidate, but she seemed reasonably competent and, more importantly, wasn't a convicted criminal. So, I and most of the rest of the city voted for her.

Well, "convicted" is the operative word there, because it turns out that she probably was/is a criminal - she just hadn't been caught yet. Because shortly after the feds got done raiding Manafort's place, they hopped on 95 and took a spin through her house and office. I don't think she's been indicted yet, but she has resigned.

I mention this because nobody I've seen who voted for Pugh is falling in line behind her to defend her and pretend as if she didn't do anything wrong, and as if this whole thing is just manufactured by a bunch of evil political opponents. Rather, we're all moving on to the next guy, hoping he'll be better than our last few.

What I don't understand is why Christians didn't take that approach. Why aren't they trying to raise up a primary challenger who not only pushes their agenda, but is also a reasonable, decent person and an effective leader. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of people in the Republican party better suited to that role than him, yet you guys are fawning over a sex-crazed septuagenarian internet troll.

He saved a dying economy that Obama swore was already gone and lost to us. And he likely would have solved the border problem if his hands had not been tied by BOTH houses of congress.

This is getting off on a bit of a tangent, but this is another frustrating aspect of this whole situation - you just argued for him with two statements that are demonstrably false. Yes, he's gotten a lot of pushback on border stuff, but there were a couple times when he had a deal ready and he torpedoed it. But I'm really more interested in your statement on the "dying economy". It's just false. There is zero data to support that statement. You have been conned by propaganda. And this seems to be endemic with TrumpFans - moreso than I can recall with conservatives in the past - they feed me untruths constantly. When he wrote that tweet about The Squad not being from the US, I don't know how many people I argued with who just deliberately ignored the offensive part of it and argued that the thing that was right in front of my eyes didn't actually exist.

Haven't you been listening? He grew up in NY. That kind of blowhard stuff is really about the only way he knows how to live life. The talk about "macho locker-room bragging" is not a "coverup". This guy has lived his whole life with that kind of childish nonsense, and really probably couldn't act any other way if he wanted to.

So he is an idiot who jokes about committing crimes he didn’t actually commit? You support a guy who has rocks for brains.

Think back to your own "locker-room" days. You ever brag about things about girls that never happened? Well, most of the rest of us did.

Not sexually assaulting women which is what he was bragging about. Did you brag about sexually assaulting women? If you did that where I’m from you’d get the side eye and guys would tell the girls they shouldn’t be alone with you. It’s good way to become a social pariah.

When the next school shooting happens there, let's see how much trust remains.

Would you settle for a Wal-Mart instead of a school?

Just to put things into perspective, in the United States.

As of July 31, 2019, 248 mass shootings have occurred in 2019 that fit the inclusion criteria of this article, resulting in 979 people being shot. Of those people, 246 have died. + 18 today 8/03/19 total 264 died.

There is plenty of Blood to go around, no Country is immune, you guys in the United Kingdom have your own blood Bath to contend with, get out the mop and bucket.

The check-able part of the claims is, how many abortions there have been since 1967.

Since then, there have been over 8.7 million abortions in Britain.

Around 202,000 abortions were recorded in Britain in 2016 ...... that's around 4,000 a week on average.

Who needs guns.

If Christians are so concerned about abortion, they should be engaging in culture in a way that convinces others of the merits of their position.

lol, how many people do you know from NYC? This sort of braggadociousness is more indicative of somebody who's insecure and kind of dim-witted than it is of somebody who's from NYC.

Think back to your own "locker-room" days. You ever brag about things about girls that never happened? Well, most of the rest of us did.

I've said a lot of stupid things. I've never exaggerated about something like that.

Craving wholesale abortion, I have come to expect from Democrats..... but this denial of having God mentioned in their platform was hard to believe, even as I watched it.
...and people keep asking why Evangelical Christians tend to be Republican!
