The doctrines in Mormonism are "MISSING" from the BIBLE for GOOD REASON-- Because They are NOT taught by the Holy Spirit. The LDS doctrines were taught by deceiving spirits. That should be obvious.
No the doctrines are not missing. Let me give you an example of what I am talking about:
Read John
John 3:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Here Jesus tells Nicodemus that a man must be born again or he cannot see the KOG.
Nicodemus is confused about that concept.
Jesus then says, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the KOG.
What has been lost here is the explanation of what Jesus meant when he said must be
"born again". And next, what did Jesus mean when he said must be "born of the water and of the Spirit."
The meaning is missing. Was it ever there? Or has it somehow been lost due to carelessness, or deliberate taking away to push a certain agenda? Or was it not there in the first place because all people at that time new what that verbiage meant? I do not know. Neither do you. So what we are left to today is 'interpretation'. Fill in the blanks the best we can.
You fill in the blanks by saying that 'born again' means that you were once born of water when you were first born, so you must be born again of the Spirit. So 'born again' means baptism of the Spirit only. It does not mean that you need to be baptized of water.
We fill in the blanks by saying that 'born again' means that you must be born or the water through water baptism, where your sins are buried in a watery grave and you are born again in a pure and clean condition, ready to do the will of Jesus Christ. To complete being born again, you must be also born again of the Spirit by receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.
These are 2 of probably 10 other interpretations that have filtered down through the ages about this passage of scripture.
There are many other scriptures in the bible that we feel support our interpretation of this passage, so we are comfortable in a reasonable interpretation. But if the explanation would have accompanied this passage it could have solved a lot of debate, which has been raging since 150ad.
That is what I meant about simple things have been lost that confuse all of our understanding of even simple doctrines like baptism.
