Yes, Jesus is God's own Son, and Jesus left Heaven itself in order to come here and share with us in all we go through. This shows how un-conceited Jesus is. And this manifests how God is in and through all things we go through. After all, by seeing Jesus, we see our Father.
But this is not only so we can feel good while we are weak in things. But we can become strong in Jesus, so then we can follow His example by using our own troubles to help us feel for others, and we can minister to others after we get the grace which makes us strong and successful in doing what is good.
Practically > when I get hit hard by things, it helps to stop and wait on God to make me the right way, then ask, "What do You want me to do?" And do what He has me doing in the ruling of His peace in my heart >
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
So, suffering and staying weak and crying and begging for God to fix something is not what works. I need to stop and wait while He corrects me into obeying how He rules me in His peace. But have compassion for ones who are deeply suffering about their problems; but pray for them to get real correction, not only a fix.
Or else, they will still be in a fix, inside themselves, if they have not become strong in the Lord and creative. If are comforted and their problem has been fixed, but they stay weak, then they still can suffer again and again > they have gotten a fish but they have not learned how to fish.
So, our Apostle Paul tried to get Jesus to fix things, when Paul had that "thorn in the flesh" "thing" > 2 Corinthians 12:7-15. "Three times" he begged for Jesus to make that thorn "messenger of Satan" go away. So, I see that the thorn in the flesh was getting the better of Paul, but at first Paul was merely trying to get something fixed, without him really changing the way he needed and obeying how Jesus would have him dealing with it.
At first, I can see, he was trying to get things to obey him, instead of first seeking to obey Jesus.
But then Paul had a little talk with Jesus >
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'" (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Then was when Paul got the message of that messenger of Satan's messing. He did not get the message from that thorn devil, indeed! But he heard from Jesus, and this is what worked. I see how Satanic stuff can be meant to get us to only seek for a fix, and seek to be comforted, but not to get real correction so we are obeying God in His grace.
But ones claim that God's grace is "God's favor", and they say God will favor us with His grace, by God fixing things and prospering us; but they do not tell us how God loves us by deeply correcting us like Hebrews 12:4-14 guarantees to every child of God. Plus, we might not be told how grace will strengthen us in how Jesus is, like our Apostle Paul commands > Ephesians 6:10.
But . . . to my knowledge, I have learned > God's grace favors Jesus, first of all > including favoring how we are changed into His image > Romans 8:29!!! And His grace is all-loving, not only favoring us by ourselves or favoring only ones closer to us. "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?" (in Matthew 5:46) God's grace all-loving favors how we love any and all people as ourselves, using our troubles to bring us here.
In the Bible we see the example of how this worked for Joseph who was sold into slavery by his own brothers who so hated him because he was favored by his father Jacob.
We can feed on how Joseph with God used his horrible situation to save many people's lives, plus to reconcile him with those brothers who so betrayed him and let their own father suffer for years of feeling Joseph was dead > Genesis 37-50.
And as Paul got more into submitting to grace, he found out how grace is the action and effect of Heaven's own love in us > Romans 5:5 > while we are obeying God's grace in us, we enjoy the "pleasure" of Heaven's quality of rest > this is what I understand Paul means that he discovered, when he took "pleasure" in his troubles >
"Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10)
And this "pleasure", then, is not only feeling good. But we take pleasure in Jesus. We do not only praise Him, in our troubles, but we take pleasure in Him, enjoying and appreciating our Groom Jesus. We delight in Jesus; we do not only try to use Him to make us feel better. We enjoy personally sharing with Jesus, while He has us loving any and all people during our troubles.
In this grace of His all-loving love, we share with our Creator in His own creativity for what to do to love any and all people . . . like Joseph did, and like Jesus on the cross was doing > not seeking a fix but being busy with loving any and all people and honoring and obeying our Father, instead of trying to get our circumstances to obey us. We don't try to control our circumstances, but test them for how God wants to use them with us to love any and all people >
"Test all things; hold fast what is good." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)
And Jesus is our example >
"And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:2)
God's grace favors this, how in us we are changed to be strong in Jesus so we love like this > sweetly pleasing our Father while making our love sacrifices
In His gentle and quiet love, we share with Him in His strength >
"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)
Therefore, in our troubles, God is not silent; He is being quiet and gentle, and we can join with Him and share with Him, by being gentle and quiet in His love. And His love all-loving has us busy with caring about any and all others as ourselves. And the beauty of this "gentle and quiet spirit" of God's love is "incorruptible" > therefore almighty in power against fears and anxiety and worry and hurry and boredom and loneliness which can invade us while we are in worldly quietness.
We can fear being quiet, if we are weak enough so boredom and loneliness can violate us. We need the quiet rest of Jesus who is almighty against cruel emotions and feelings. And God's love protects us from lusts > dominating and dictatorial drives for pleasure and excitement. Then is when we can rest sweetly and delight in Him and take "pleasure" in loving any and all people . . . like how Jesus on the cross so suffered and died with hope for any evil person, at all > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7).
