Nice artwork, I bet it is nothing like the illustration.

Theoretically, wormholes. The amount of gravity, let alone the technology, to create such instant travel paths would be mind-boggling. Einstein's relativity theory allows for existence of such wormholes.Would the theory of Relativity be able to help? If we could somehow invent Super-Relative Technology based on that theory, it wouldn't be long before someone actually makes it at least 10 light years away.

There are some people working on it, but artificial gravity (necessary for humans) and an effective means of FTL communication still elude us.Would the theory of Relativity be able to help? If we could somehow invent Super-Relative Technology based on that theory,...

What about bending light and traveling at Super-Relative speed at the same time?

We are all traveling to the future, together. (Bypassing parts would be like sleeping through them.) It is only travel into the past that is problematic. And travel relative to heavenly bodies......, the future is Unstable as many different people are making choices that change the future right now.
So far, no such animal. As for artificial gravity, why not invent a Atom Something, forgot what it is called, to reproduce Earth's gravity.
There's no solution, let alone a simple one. To create a wormhole one would have to create two intersecting black holes and then pull them apart to produce a gravity tunnel. This is more space travel than time travel, although it could probably be used for the latter (traveling light years would be a sort of time travel). There are some studies with dark matter to create wormholes. But they are still under investigation.Or simplify it. We shouldn't want to Time Travel though, the future is Unstable as many different people are making choices that change the future right now.

There's also a concept of hyperspace travel, which is traveling through another dimension occupying the same physical space (ex: parallel universe) like in Star Wars. The concepts of wormholes and warp drives were illustrated in Star Trek.I want to travel faster, through space. I was only saying that Wormholes might speed up the process, but also might risk traveling through time in ways we don't want.

The idea is brilliant, nothing stupid about it. The only problem is to develop technology to implement it without violating God's laws (the laws of Physics). That reminds me, when I was a kid I thought of this crazy idea of a Equation well part of it that would allow for Space travel, it was stupid and simple though, so I knew it wouldn't work.
I can't remember, but it was like "Quantum Matter Jump."
The goal was to not travel through space using a space ship, but more like Accelerating the Atoms around a person, and that person would be able to direct the atoms and Jump from planet to planet.
Like I said, stupid.
