I noticed something interesting about Amazon’s delivery algorithm. I was scheduled for Friday. But sending them to my mother who lives in the suburbs rendered a next day option. I guess its related to the number of packages coming to one location.

I’m not a rap fan. But I remember when it began. Kanye has Chicago roots. Plus he fuses local artists in his music. I like him and plan to see him when he goes on tour.

He gets me amped. That’s the part of me that’s been dead for a long while that was a constant. Even my bff noticed. Now I’m back to normal.

When he entered the music scene gangster rap was the thing. But he affirmed his roots and brought a different vibe. Hip-hop became a mainstay.

When you’re immensely talented it’s hard to deny. Today we call it narcissism. A few years ago it was swag. And back in the day they called it moxie.

I’m not supporting pride in anyone. But I won’t deny he’s operating in a level of gifts and talents you won’t encounter with your average worship pastor. They sing other people’s music. But they aren’t making their own. Hearing him flip popular songs and make them suitable for a church environment makes me wonder why that wasn’t happening all along.

I respect and value people who use what God has given them. That is more commonplace outside of religious settings than within them. No one is going to tell me to “rise and grind” (Daymond John), “hustle hard” (Gary V.), “10X” (Grant Cardone), or “use what I’ve got (Barbara Corcoran).

For me, doing matters most.

I don’t care about anyone’s politics. What concerns me is their ability to tolerate views which oppose their own peaceably.
