For me there are a lot of things I will have to give up.

  1. Foul music.
  2. Certain dating sites. (Tinder)..................
  3. Lust (but acknowledging beauty is not a sin unless someone tells me otherwise!)
  4. Certain videos.
  5. Not to react in anger (remain calm at all times calm tone of voice).
  6. Not to use foul language.
  7. (Other things I am sure somebody will add)

In terms of SIN I have realised something that if I play the victim in sin I will always fall face first! Bottom line is I HAVE THE REMOTE CONTROL ON SIN! I think people give Satan more power than he actually has.

Now in terms of the good things.
  1. Be in the word as much as possible.
  2. Church (bog standard)
  3. Helping others
  4. Tell others about the dangers of not accepting Christ.
Is anybody able to add to this?

Thank you.

I thought being sanctified was something people did with God before getting baptized.

Since it is a testimony of a change that already occurred, a good question to meditate on is how Jesus changed your life so your baptism minsters to others.

Of course - but when I lay out things that I know I will have to give up good and proper I know it will be a big step.

Same time hell is not an option.

Jesus always meets us where we are at, in everything love and be sincere.

When sacrificing habits, do not forget mercy.

Knowing that he is the only hope I have in the next stage of life - cos without him I would be doomed.
Continue to meditate on this, if asked, we need to have an answer for the hope we have in Him.

Scripture makes it clear that he is the only way to the Kingdom of Heaven. That's the answer right there.

explain this please

The Eucharist is the blood and body of Christ which Christ instituted at the Last Supper when He said "This is my body" and "This is my blood" in Mark 14:22-25,Luke 22:18-20 and St. Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians 11:23-25. Christ also says

"Jesus said to them, “I am telling you the truth: if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in yourselves. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them to life on the last day. For my flesh is the real food; my blood is the real drink. Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me, and I live in them."

John 6:53-56

you may call the Eucharist communion

Go deep into the Word of God, formulate what you believe and why you believe it, according to scripture. Spend a lot of time in prayer. Always ask for the Holy Spirit to lead you. Follow in the steps of Jesus. Focus on the Love of God when sharing with others.

The way you live your life speaks louder than words.

Be humble.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk with Him. Amen.

Baptism when done for the right reason is ultimately a declaration that one is now under the authority of Christ and His Word. Following through on one's baptism properly would be being faithful to what one knows of God's will through His Word. That knowledge should increase as walking in the light you have will result in more light- which will in turn lead to more responsibility. And this cycle will continue as long as one stays faithful. That's how the saying that it's a narrow way and it only gets narrower the further you go down it is an appropriate saying.

Micah 6:8 "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

Acts 2:36-42 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."

It sounds like you are right on track. Moving towards sanctification, and getting into the word. Let the LORD lead you. All pluses from here.

Christian Advice Statement of Purpose
Christian advice is defined as advice which contains basic Christian principles that do not conflict with the site's Statement of Faith. We would ask that members direct their responses to the member who started the thread and refrain from debating one another's theological beliefs and viewpoints. Do not use this forum to debate with other Christians as that is not the purpose of the Christian Advice forum. If members would like to discuss/debate specific Christian theological doctrines, they should do so in one of the Theology forums.

All advice should be given in the spirit of love and humility, extending grace and respect towards one another in an effort to encourage and uplift the member seeking advice. We would like this forum to remain a safe place where Christians can request advice from other Christians without fear of being attacked. With this in mind, posts that chastise or belittle another member will be deleted and the member may be banned from the thread. Posts that debate rather than advise will also be deleted and the member may be banned from the thread. I would personally say give up t.v.and secular media in geneeal. They are overflowing with anti Biblical messages. Also, research has well documented that t.v. viewing puts you into a slight hypontic state - the better to sell you their products and world view.

Really, mostly, it seesm you already know a lot of dos and don'ts. Your conscience is active.

But we all tend to get too focused on them, though they are important. Read 1 Corinthinas 13.
It says that we can do this and do that, but whatever we do (and whatever we avoid doing) "it profits nothing"if we do not have love. No doubt you have some love already. But have you ever seen anyone perfected in love?

On the to do list I would add praying each morning to grow in love, also in faith and trust and wisdom.

Also be cautious about telling others, between the lines, that they are going to hell if they don't accept the Gospel. Messiah told us NOT to cast our pearls before the swine or give what is holy to the dogs for they may turn on you and hurt you. Proverbs tells us to be discrete in evil times. These are evil times!

Consider the following. Messiah also told us that few would take the narrow path to Heaven and He talked about demon seed sown by their father the devil. If you witness to the wrong kinds of people you are only going to get resentment and hostility. Scattershot witnessing is not a good idea. You must be led of the Holy Spirit. Some who seem like fertile ground may not be at all. Some who seem like "swines" and "dogs" may actually have something inside them which the Father will use to bring them to repentance. Again, be careful. Don't go off on your own. Wait and pray for any guidance.

I suppose it depends on the circumstances. In my kids case upon their baptism it was my duty to make sure they grew up learning the Christian faith and learning Christian theology. In my case, having not grown up in a Christian home and thus getting baptized after faith it was my duty to study God's word, attend worship services and work on/pray for sanctification. I don't think there's a one size fits all formula for this.
