Well. I watched it. And I still don’t know exactly where I stand. End times prophecy has always stumped me.

I’m to-a stoopid to make up my own mind!

The Book of Revelation is a very difficult book.

It is not in chronological order. Instead, it is a series of overlapping visions.
For example "the time of the judgment of the dead" is in Revelation 11:18, and also at the end of Revelation chapter 20.

Most people skip over Revelation 11:18, because it ruins their doctrine.

Christ returns in Revelation 16:15-16, and also in chapter 19.

It takes some time to understand it.

Do not be hard on yourself.

This next one is the best thing I have ever seen on Revelation chapter 20. I have watched it several times.

Pastor Steve Gregg used to be a Dispensationalist, but had to give it up when he had problems getting the doctrine to agree with his Bible.

So Satan is now actively deceiving the nations, but he was not before the Great Schism?
As shown throughout Scripture, hasatan deceived Adam and Chavah (Eve),
then most all the people until NOAH,
then most all the people until JESUS,
then most all the people until JESUS RETURNS.

There were only 2 times in history that potentially at least "most of the people" were serving Yahweh --- the first was right after Creation and right after Adam and Chavah were booted out of Eden, the second was right after all flesh on earth was killed by the flood and only Noah and 7 others were saved to live on, and the animals with them.

Actually, Yahweh created all things simple.
The choice is who to obey ..... also simple.
Then, if Yahweh reveals the truth, simple.
Man came up with many devices, not simple.
Trust Yahweh, read His Word, and let Yahweh reveal His understanding as a Father teaching His son.

Well. I watched it. And I still don’t know exactly where I stand. End times prophecy has always stumped me.

Tommy Ice leaves me cold.
Him and LaHaye[ RIP ] both.........

https://www.pre-trib.org/

The group adopted the title of The Pre-Trib Study Group (PTSG). Dr. LaHaye was elected Chairman of the steering committee and Dr. Ice Vice Chairman.

Dr. LaHaye and Dr. Ice, along with others associated with PTRC, have produced an impressive amount of literature that further the cause of pretribulationism and the literal interpretation of Bible prophecy. The PTRC is also involved in speaking at prophecy conferences and churches, producing key audio tapes, and now with the advent of this Internet site, providing various materials here as well.

Dr. LaHaye went home to be with the Lord July 25, 2016 at age 91. The PTRC continues to pursue the goals he originally established for the Center.

I am bumping up this thread - it had some interesting comments in it (and it's almost been exactly a year since someone posted in it).

So Satan is now actively deceiving the nations, but he was not before the Great Schism?
As of right now - with the help of Christian Gedge - I think there's a repeating pattern where God allows satan to be "loosed for a little while" in order for people to see the comparison of a counterfeit diety compared to God. It's difficult to say if we're in the time of "loosing" or the time of "binding" but I tend to believe we're in a time of binding. I read this quote this morning and see it as relevant:

Quoting from Kim Riddebarger's site (regarding Rev 13):
"John’s point is that when empowered by the dragon, the state oversteps its bounds and deifies itself and/or its leader. As Caird puts it, “all political power is the gift of God; but when men deify the state, either directly by a religious cult or indirectly by demanding for it the total loyalty and obedience that is due to God alone, it ceases to be human and becomes bestial” (Caird, The Revelation of St. John, 162).

What is in view then is primarily an anti-christian power, centered in the seat of government, using the resources of that government against Christ’s church in an effort to thwart the preaching of the gospel." ~ Riddleblog - The Latest Post - The Counterfeit Trinity of Revelation 13 -- Amillennialism 101

But according to Revelation 20:6, those who reign with Christ for 1,000 years are those who have experienced the first resurrection, which is the resurrection that raises those who believe, from death in sin to life in Christ (John 5:24; Ephesians 2:1). That has now been occurring for almost 2,000 literal years, and will continue until Christ returns.

Thus the 1,000 years in Revelation 20 already encompass almost 2,000 literal years; and therefore the number "1,000" does not represent literal years.

Yes, that is what happened. The passage doesn't say anything about after the 1,000 years.
I agree.

K. Riddlebarger does a pretty good job in his series "Amillennialism 101" for the most part. I'm not in agreement with him trying Emperor Domitian and his persecution of the church into his eschatology... particularly Revelation.

In my study of Revelation I find too judgements to be the main thrust...the judgement of Jerusaslem/Israel...and the "great white throne judgement.

I believe we're in the 1000 year reign...which is figurative of Christ reigning since His resurrection. In this time period, we Christians can see Revelation as a pattern of how we are to walk in the world, as history has shown us great times of persecution of the church in the past and on more to come until Christ returns.

I am both Amill and Partial Preterist
I view 1st century Jerusalem in Revelation and why I am Partial Preterist and Amill.

Would it be fair to say that perhaps the 1st part of Reve 11:18 is concerning the wrath/judgement on Jerusalem and it's people
and the 2nd part of the verse is the GWT after Gog Magog? Thoughts?

Luke 21:23
“But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
For there will be Great Distress in the land and wrath<ὀργὴ <3709> upon this people.[Revelation 11:18]

Revelation 11:18 "2nd Woe passed, dead judged, reward the Saints"

Rev 11:18 - The nations were angry and came Thy wrath< ὀργή<3709>, [Luke 21:23/ wrath upon Jerusalem/Judea.."1000yr" period starts]
And the time/season<2540> of the dead to be judged, [Gog Magog and the GWT Judgement at end of 1000yrs?]
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy<1311> those who destroy<1311> the land.”

The Great City/Harlot/Queen Revelation chapts 17-19

Revelation 18:

8 Thru this in one day shall be arriving Her blows, death and sorrow and famine.
And in fire She shall be utterly burned, that strong Lord the GOD, the One judging<2919> Her
10 From afar having stood because of the fear of the tormenting of Her saying
"Woe! woe! the great City Babylon! the strong City!
That to one hour came the judging<2920> of Thee.
20 ‘Be making merry<2165> over Her, O heaven, and the Saints, the Apostles and the Prophets,
that the GOD judges<2919> the judgment<2917> of ye out of Her!’

Revelation 19:
1 After these I hear as a great sound of a vast throng in the heaven, saying,
"HalleluYah! the salvation and the glory and the honor, and the power of our God;
2 That true and righteous His judgings<2920>, that He judges the great harlot who corrupts the earth in Her whoredom, and avenges<1556> the blood of His bond-servants out of Her hand".

Quoting from Kim Riddlebarger :
What is recorded in Revelation 13 reflects the fact that a dramatic turning point in the history of redemption has already taken place with the coming of Jesus Christ. Through our Lord’s death and resurrection, the dragon has already been decisively defeated by the Messiah (cf. Colossians 2:15). Although our salvation has been secured through Christ’s death upon the cross, and through his resurrection from the dead, the dragon is enraged by his defeat and consequently wages war upon the saints (Revelation 13:7) because he knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12).

The Book of Revelation, therefore, depicts an already defeated foe waging his last desperate efforts in a war he knows he has already lost. In this final attempt to escape his inevitable fate, the dragon now enlists the aid of two beasts to do his bidding, one from the sea (Revelation 13:1-10) and one from the land (Revelation 13:11-18). While the final outcome is never in doubt, the particular circumstances which bring us to the climatic end of redemptive history have long fascinated God’s people.

Critical to understanding John’s vision in Revelation 13 is his statement that the first beast has “ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name (v. 1).” This beast “resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.” This immediately harkens any reader who was familiar with the Old Testament back to Daniel’s vision of a great beast in Daniel 7:7, who is ultimately slain (Daniel 7:11) and who is conquered by the son of man and his everlasting kingdom (Daniel 7:13-14). Not only does the beast of John’s vision possess military power second to none– “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?” (v. 4a)–but when “one of the heads of the beast seemed to have suffered a fatal wound, the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast (v. 3).”

This obvious parody of Christ’s resurrection (cf. H. B. Swete, The Apocalypse of St. John, Macmillian, 1907, lxxxiv), coupled with the military prowess and deceptive ways of the beast, gives the dragon exactly what he craves. “Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast (v. 4b).” Not only did men worship Satan because of the might of the beast, “they also worshiped the beast.” Clearly, then, what is in view is a state (government) which is empowered by Satan, and which claims divine rights and prerogatives for itself. Bauckham is quite correct when he calls this a “deification of power,” in which military power (perhaps we could add economic power as well) masks the inevitability of the beast’s destruction by Christ and his kingdom (Bauckham, The Climax of Prophecy, 451).

The overtly antichristian nature of this reign of this beast can be seen in what follows. “The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months,” the forty-two months most likely a reference to the inter-advental age (Beale, The Book of Revelation, 695; Sweet, Revelation, 210-211). Taken from Daniel 7:25b (and from Daniel 12:7), this same period of time appears in the preceding chapters of the Book of Revelation. In Revelation 11:2-3, the Gentiles are said to trample the holy city (the church–i.e., the dwelling place of God in the new covenant–cf. Beale, The Book of Revelation, 570) for forty-two months, and for 1,260 days. This is the same time period in which the two witnesses proclaim the gospel (Revelation 11:3). In Revelation 12:6, John refers to the time of the protection of the woman in the wilderness (the church) as spanning 1,260 days, and then again later as “a time, times, and half a time” (v. 14). As Beale points out, these are all references to the same period of time, indicating that the manifestation of the beast likewise “spans the time from Christ’s death and resurrection to the culmination of history”(Beale, The Book of Revelation, 695).

This means that the beast’s efforts to oppose the gospel extends from the time of the Neronian persecution into the present, and will continue until the end of the age, when the beast is destroyed by Jesus Christ at his second advent (Revelation 20:10). ~ Riddleblog - The Latest Post - The Counterfeit Trinity of Revelation 13 -- Amillennialism 101
