Just so I’m clear. I do believe that we should be obedient. Children obey your parents. So if God is my Father, I need to be obedient to Him. And when I’m not, He disciplines. But the key is the relationship. He is my Father. He loves me. He does not hold my sin against me.

But, does obedience keep me His Son? No. Can I outsin His grace? No (if scripture is to be believed). Can I run away? No, because the Shepherd comes for me.

So we obey out of love, not fear. Rest in His love.

What your saying then is, you cant come up with any other verse.

If your contention is, a Christian can fall away back into sin.

It does not say anywhere in the New testament, if a Believer falls away they become UN-BELIEVERS, they would only become sinners.
for the true Believer, It is impossible to fall away outof Grace.
Heb 6:4..(KJV)>
"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,"

The key words are "FOR IT IS IMPOSSIBLE"

One cannot lose their salvation!

Nope HEBREWS 6:4-8 is talking abourt BELIEVERS who fell away from God's Word back into sin to become unbelievers. It says this directly in HEBREWS 6:4-6.

That is not the way it reads my friend. it reads :

It is Impossible to what---to fall away----

Fall away from what--being enlightened, having tasted the heavenly gift, being the partakers of the Holy Spirit, Having tasted the the GOOD WORD of GOD and the powers of the world to come.

In Verse 6..
If they have fallen away --(IF) what happens if they have fallen away.---They would have to be renewed in repentance, Jesus would have to be crucified again for their salvation,

The result of this would be -----It would put GOD to OPEN shame.

God will not let this happen. Thus, Once saved always Saved. However, there are many that claim to be saved that are not saved.

Joking right? Perhaps you need to add the rest of the verses your leaving out *HEBREWS 6:4-8?

HEBREWS 6:4-8 [4], For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, [5], And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, [6], IF THEY (CONTEXT v4-5 IS BELIEVERS) SHALL FALL AWAY, TO RENEW THEMSELVES AGAIN TO REPENTANCE; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Yep, BELIEVERS having fallen away from the HEAVENLY gift back into sin..

[7], For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft on it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
[8], But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Sorry it does not say what your trying to make it say. IF THEY SHALL FALL AWAY is in relation to those who once were BELIEVERS.

Hope this helps.

God's Word does not teach once saved always saved. This is a false Gospel that has it's origin in the first temptation in the garden of Eden to Eve which caused the fall of mankind *GENESIS 3:1-5 where the devil said to Eve you can break God's Law and not surely die *GENESIS 3:3-4. God's Word on the other hand teaches the wages of sin (breaking God's Law; 1 JOHN 3:4) is death to all those who reject the gift of Gods dear son *ROMANS 6:23; ROMANS 8:13. If you disagree please respond to post # 195 linked which gives a verse by verse comparison of HEBREWS 6:4-8 showing that these scriptures are in reference to those who were once believers. These scriptures also tie in with HEBREWS 10:26-31.

Hope this helps.

Or the origin is in tradition.
When men trust tradition and put it over God's Word, they accept it. Either way, it (trusting tradition which is opposed to Life, instead of trusting God) is deadly for multitudes, obviously contrary to God's Plan....

LoveGodsWord, I'm guessing you are put off by my sarcastically worded request for you to list the sins that can cause a born-again, Bible-believing, spirit-filled Christian to lose his or her salvation.

I'm assuming by "keeping God's word" you mean that not keeping His word means the person sins.

But, I'd like you to know that I am genuinely curious what you think that keeping God's word entails. In an earlier post I quoted a handful of times you used the term on just one page, and I'm sure you've said it dozens of times in this and another similar topic. So I know that the concept is very important to you.

I am asking again nicely which sins qualify the person to lose his salvation status, how many sins, etc.

If you wish to start another topic on this subject that would be fine.

See in Scripture.
re : for whom there no longer remains any sacrifice for their sin(s).
That was for Jews who held to the sacrificial system. If they reject the gospel, there remains no more sacrifice for sin.

Wrong Bible. Or wrong place in the Bible, sorry. I'm actually surprised you made that error here.

Hebrews 10. In context.
28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Those Jews who rejected the gospel. You still need to keep the context in mind as to who the audience is.

The origin is from the garden of Eden. At this time there were no traditions. However today tradition has a lot to do with the first lie being told in the garden of Eden as it is handed down from one generation to another until people think that it is true without bothering seek Gods truth for themselves asking God through a prayerful study of His Word.

Keeping God's Word means to believe and follow it. It is faith that brings us salvation as we walk in God's Spirit *GALATIANS 5:16 which is God's work in us that enables us to walk on water when Jesus bids us come *PHILIPPIANS 2:13; MATTHEW 21:21; MATTHEW 14:28-29. The difference between the children of God and the children of the devil is sin *1 JOHN 3:6-10. Sin is not believing God's Word and breaking God's Law *ROMANS 14:23; 1 JOHN 3:4; ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7.

All those who continue in known unrepentant sin will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-31; EZEKIEL 18:4; PROVERBS 28:9-13. Only those who endure temptation to the end receive eternal life *JAMES 1:12. Many are called but few will be chosen *MATTHEW 24:14 because wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat *MATTHEW 7:13-14. Many will be dissappointed in that day thinking they were saved but are lost *MATTHEW 7:22-23 because they only had a form of godliness but denied God's power to saved them from their sins *2 TIMOTHY 3:5; JOHN 8:31-36; ROMANS 1:16

Your error here is that you think the scriptures apply to someone else and are not written to you *1 CORINTHIANS 10:11; 2 TIMOTHY 3:16; MATTHEW 4:4. God is not the God of the dead but of the living *MATTHEW 12:32.

HEBREWS 10:26-31 is written as a warning to believers not to continue in sin but this goes against the false gospel that you can sin and not lose your salvation which was the first lie given to Eve in the garden of Eden *GENESIS 3:1-5. Sin is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 JOHN 3:6-10; 1 JOHN 2:1-4 but many will find this out too late *MATTHEW 7:22-23 because instead of turning to God they turned to the teachings of men and the doctrines of devils to teachers crying peace and safety having itching ears *2 TIMOTHY 4:3 not know that sudden destruction was at the door *2 THESSALONIANS 5:3

How sad will it be at that time when many had a chance to hear Word of God but did not know the day of their visitiation *LUKE 19:42-44 and chose to turned away from hearing it in order to follow the teachings of men that led them away from the salvation that they were seeking *ACTS 20:29; 2 TIMOTHY 3:13; GALATIANS 6:7

ooppsss ..... you forgot your own advice apparently ...

That's the ones who were sanctified by the blood of the (new) covenant, saved once, bought by the blood of Jesus and set apart by Yahuweh ,

who then trampled underfoot His Grace, after having tasted of the heavenlies.....

for them there is no more sacrifice for their sins, as they once did have .... until they rebelled.....
