I can't wait to see more people rioting, howling at the moon, running around in pink private part hats like lunatics, crying and going into tears like when President Trump won in 2016. Victory is at hand, MAGA!

Trump is on the path to reelection

I don't want to see it. The far-left types have been whipped into such an extreme frenzy over the past few years that if/when President Trump is re-elected... honestly, I'm afraid somebody really will get hurt this time.

I'm not predicting anything but if he does win, I do hope that the far-left will come together with the rest of the country and we can all try to accept each other once again.

Trump and his supporters haven chosen to ignore the hard lessons that they should have learned from the 2018 Interims - all their grandstanding and hoopla can't override the simple fact that most Americans just want him out of the White House!

Trump will win in 2020 simply because his administration has done amazing things for the US since elected despite all the opposition from the left.

Of course, no one on the left wants to talk about all the good things the current administration has accomplished...nor does MSM. Instead they want to claim it's all lies, and keep trying to refocus the narrative by constantly insinuating how horrible and corrupt the POTUS is.

It's very unfortunate, but Trump winning in 2020 will probably make the democrats even angrier and will not unite the country at all. Unless of course they completely self destruct before then...considering the stance they've taken...it's a real possibility.

What most of his followers actually learned from that experience is that the forces arrayed against the administration remain sufficiently strong and militant that they, the supporters of the President, dare not let down.

The best way for the Democrats to have defeated President Trump was to let opponents within his own party change him or limit his actions and then campaign on the platform that Trump had been an unsuccessful president.

But instead, almost everyone who was on the fence about him has had to rally to the President because of the spectacle of an alternate America that the RESIST! people consciously, deliberately, chose to present to all.

Given that the link is to an opinion piece, ... this is much less than certain.

Remember that Hilary was derailed (by Comey) less than a week before the election. There's a lot of time between now and November 2020.

Hillary was derailed long before that... she (and her supporters) just didn't realize it.

Given all of the irregularities of the 2016 election (i.e. Russia's interference, Coney's interference, Hilary's winning of the popular vote, etc.), ... it really is hard to say ...

I wonder how much national debt he's going to leave his successor with.

Wasn't Trump going to eliminate national debt? Or am I misremembering? It's hard to keep up with the amount of sheer idiocy that leaves his mouth.
His policies will be responsible for turning it around later... during someone else's administration.

I am for Trump for what he has and will do for the country but I do agree on his idiocy. He's his own worst enemy:)

I do think he should be trying to cut the national debt, yet anyone who does career is over.

Although he's been a scrooge compared to Obama, about whom no one dare speak ill, Trump's willingness to add trillions to the debt can be his Achilles heel, I agree. Can be, but it's not guaranteed..

He has had to do it in order to get out of Congress certain projects that he considered essential, but that may not matter much when it comes time for the campaigning to go into high gear.

I will agree in the sense that his victory in 2020 is inevitable, and that the reaction of the far left that you have described is also inevitable. I hope that in their frenzy they don't hurt anyone or bring destruction on themselves as others act to defend themselves and their families against them.

The error of the Democrats is that they've gone so far to the left it's hindering their chances to unseat Trump. Those people believe we are entering a great socialist moment but if the would look at the polls it's pretty clear that rank and file Democrats don't support socialism or open borders. Any generic Republican would win next year in a Reagan type landslide. With Trump it will be a nail biter because he can't stop saying nutty things on Twitter.
