(Pearl of Great Price | Moses 4:1 - 4)

1 AND I, the Lord God, spake unto Moses, saying: That Satan, whom thou hast commanded in the name of mine Only Begotten, is the same which was from the beginning, and he came before me, saying—Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor.
2 But, behold, my Beloved Son, which was my Beloved and Chosen from the beginning, said unto me—Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever.
3 Wherefore, because that Satan rebelled against me, and sought to destroy the agency of man, which I, the Lord God, had given him, and also, that I should give unto him mine own power; by the power of mine Only Begotten, I caused that he should be cast down;
4 And he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will, even as many as would not hearken unto my voice.

Sorry that you have been so very deceived. Lucifer did no such thing! Lucifer rebelled before man was even created!!

I ran across this quote again and don't want to put it in a new thread as it fits with the topic of this one:

"To enter the [highest level of the]celestial and obtain exaltation it is necessary that the whole law be kept...Do you desire to enter the celestial Kingdom and receive eternal life? Then be willing to keep all of the commandments."
Joseph Fielding Smith, The Way to Perfection, p. 206

It is a sad day when people stop believing in the Bible.

(Old Testament | 2 Kings 23:1 - 3)

1 AND the king sent, and they gathered unto him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.
2 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.
3 ¶ And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

Exo 24:1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
Exo 24:2 And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

"I asked you before, when was the last time you talked face to face to your friend and the friend was in a dense cloud, and you still wrote home to your mother and told her you had a conversation with a common friend face to face, but she was hidden from me in a dense cloud."

And I answered you----When that friend is God Almighty and veils Himself to keep me from dyeing!!

Exo_33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
It is Almighty God that said it to Moses. It can be made no clearer by God Himself when he says I talked to Moses face to face as a man talketh to a friend. You cannot wiggle out of that.

You have bolded "for there shall no man see me, and live."
So what do you say about Jacob seeing God, nay, wrestling with God and his life was preserved, and if you do not understand what "and my life was preserved" means, it means he saw God and lived.
Genesis 32:30 King James Version (KJV)
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

There seems to be some confusion here, can you explain it to me?

Mormonism's commandments are not the commandments of God. Try again.
There are people who don't believe in keeping these commandments:

(New Testament | Mark 12:29 - 31)

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Those who can keep these two commandments have no fear.

It is sad when people do not believe the prophets that point them to Jesus Christ:

(Book of Mormon | Moroni 7:12 - 19)

12 Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil; for the devil is an enemy unto God, and fighteth against him continually, and inviteth and enticeth to sin, and to do that which is evil continually.
13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.
14 Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil.
15 For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may know good from evil; and the way to judge is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as the daylight is from the dark night.
16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.
17 But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him.
18 And now, my brethren, seeing that ye know the light by which ye may judge, which light is the light of Christ, see that ye do not judge wrongfully; for with that same judgment which ye judge ye shall also be judged.
19 Wherefore, I beseech of you, brethren, that ye should search diligently in the light of Christ that ye may know good from evil; and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing, and condemn it not, ye certainly will be a child of Christ.

I take it then, that you would have not believed in creating a NT, because the NT basically took the place of the OT with a whole new story and a whole new gospel, and a whole new priesthood.

Would you have said then, I have a bible, I need no more of God's word, we have plenty. If God had wanted this kind of gospel, he would have told Isaiah and Moses and Elisha and Daniel and Malachi, but he didn't because it was unnecessary.

Remember the bible in the years of Jesus was only the OT.

There is no need to "wiggle."
You can not wiggle out of this:
Exo_33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
Num_14:14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Do you know how many references to the faces of God there are? Many! Around 70. Numbers 14:14 states that all the people see His face. Then it also clearly states that He is in a cloud and in a pillar of fire. He is never seen without some sort of veil.

You refuse knowing the reality of what this says because it makes JS a liar---that is what you can't handle and have to refuse to acknowledge that no man can see His face and live--unless they are in heaven themselves. JS never saw God--no sinner can. No mortal can. We must be resurrected unto immortality and be glorified before we are able to see Him.

Exo_19:9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.
Exo_24:15 And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.
Exo_24:16 And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
Exo_24:18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
Exo_40:35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Lev_16:2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
Num_16:42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
1Co_10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
It us one of the oldest greetings:

Num 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

There are people who don't believe in keeping these commandments

Yeah, and that'd be Mormons, since Mormons don't believe in one God. You have a plurality of Gods thanks to Joseph Smith.

Thanks for giving us an example of 1Tim 4:1 that the Holy Spirit warns of the False teachers & their false teachings. Fyi, no bogus "moses" writing of JS is "scripture" it is a lying document. Why would people so enthralled, or bewitched to fall for his lies? Please LORD God open their eyes to know that the Bible is the only God inspired scripture.
Joseph Smith is a deceiver who plagarized words & phrases from the Bible to make his lies sound similar to the ignorant and gullible.
btw, that is not an insult, we were all ignorant of scripture at one time & unless taught the truth people will be spiritually gullible and fall for clever liars.
1TIM 4:1 "1Now the Spirit expressly states that in latter times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons , 2 influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron.…"

The Lord saw Moses face to face as a man speaketh to his friend, but to the congregation he was in a pillar of a cloud over them to lead them during the days. That is a real easy scripture to analyze.

BTW, and as usual, you conspicuously avoided Genesis 32:30 where Jacob says he saw God and his life was preserved.

Analyze Genesis 32:30 like I analyzed Genisis 14:14.

And let me analyze Genesis 33:23. We know pefectly from Exodus 33:11 that Moses did talk to God face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend. That is not disputable. But then Moses asked God an interesting question. "let me see your glory".

God responded that I will show you my glory, but you cannot see my face and live. It is true that God obviously can modify his glory as he wishes. For instance:
1) he talked to Moses in his tent and Moses did not die.
2) he wrestled with Jacob and Jacob did not die.
3) but then he came down on Mt. Sinai before the people in fire and glory.
4) he led them during the night in a pillar of fire.
5) he met with Abraham as a man.

So God has appeared to men in many degrees of his glory.
The glory that Moses was looking for was perhaps his highest glory. And in this degree of glory, if you were to even see his face, you would not be able to withstand the radiation or power, that you would not survive. But apparently even in this high degree of glory you can look upon his back parts and live. So kind of interesting.

Bottom line, we obviously do not know a lot about God.

As Per usual , like the false prophet Joseph Smith does in his false teachings-- You overlay your own biased opinions upon scripture and make similar false claims. You're "analysis" is faulty because you add what is not there.
The scripture never states God saw Moses face to face as in God's actual face, there was always a cloud, nor did any other human see God face to face, but scripture states ONLY Jesus has seen God! The Father God is Spirit and is not human, the Bible states explicitly that only Jesus who came from God saw the Father.
John 6:46 "45It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me— 46 not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.

No, we do not. But we know this
Exo_33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
Everything that is said has to be taken in that light. Jacob was fighting in the dark

Gen 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
Gen 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
Gen 32:26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Once again, He was veiled---always veiled somehow. No man can see His full glory and live. Even with Him veiled in the cloud---Moses face still shone so brightly that his face also had to be veiled for the Israelites could not bear it.

And did not Jacob see this man's face? (this man that turns out to be God)
How exactly was God veiled as they wrestled?

And you again avoided the response from Jacob, "I have seen God face to face and my life was preserved".

Analyze Genesis 32:30, don't analyze the scriptures before it and the scriptures after it, just 32:30.

Now analyze this appearance of the Lord to Abraham, and Abraham did not die?
Genesis 18 King James Version (KJV)
18 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

Also analyze why the Lord sat down and ate and drank if he is just a spirit?

You said that while God wrestled with Jacob he had to be veiled. I said that somehow the Lord is able to appear to men and they see him (and his face) and their lives are preserved. At other times his glory is too much to see his face, so you and I are both right. But we can't agree on how he veils himself, but his face is seen. There are too many scriptures that seem to conflict with
"you cannot see my face and live". So he must be able to veil his face somehow, which allows him to:
1) talk face to face, as a man talketh to his friend to Moses
2) wrestle at day-break with Jacob (Jacob had to have seen his face at daybreak but lived).
3) walks up to Abrahams tent and Abraham sees him and he eats and drinks and then later calls down thunderbolts from heaven and destroys Sodom and Gomorah.

Can God veil himself and his face and still be seen? The answer is yes, we just do not know how.

As for 33:20, perhaps even a thin veil like a cloud or some other type of veil will not preserve life if all of his glory is presented, therefore reconciling the seeming contradictory scriptures.

Yeah, and that'd be Mormons, since Mormons don't believe in one God. You have a plurality of Gods thanks to Joseph Smith.
Well for us there is one God:

(New Testament | 1 Corinthians 8:6)

6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Yes many have, but not members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. We have the true teachings of Jesus Christ.
