Calling all Word of Faith

A movie has been put out that, names Word of Faith as a false Gospel
It portrays clips of some that are not even Word of Faith.
It has sound bites of Kenneth Copeland saying money come to me!
It is not a fair portrayal of the true Word of Faith doctrine as taught mainly by Kenneth E Hagin , and the Rhema training centers.
The movie is called the American Gospel.
It was created by a young man who grew up in a Benny Hinn House Hold.
Yes there is a mistake here.
We have Among us a great Teacher who specializes in Apolgetics.

Wow, that was an excellent video from Rod Saunders of Jew & Greek. That's what we need is more Christian apologetics teaching, especially on Word of Faith beliefs. Simon hit the nail on the head with some of his views on Calvinism. I was more then a little stunned by John Piper's comments about how he would go into their three boys bedroom every night while they were asleep and lay hands on each of them and pray, and yet, knowing... that God may NOT have chosen his sons to be the ELECT (which, according to Calvinists, God did NOT love them.)

Wow, he even said that often he is moved to tears of joy and longing for them... and that he thinks he would give up his life for their salvation if they were to be lost, and... that he would not rail (criticize severely) against Almighty God... for He is the potter with the absolute rights over us... being the clay.

What gets me is that... yes, many of us have said things years, and years ago that wasn't quite right and have since repented, (changed our minds), but yet some of these same critics still bring up what was said then in their articles and even their books they write today. It is my belief that they will be held accountable for their deception and lies while spreading this false information about Word of Faith.

As Simon put it... what their doing is a juvenile, indefensible approach to Christian apologetics with their cherry picking untruthful comments.

I think that ABlessedMan earlier in this forum had a thread several years ago called, "Word of Faith-- What Are We Teaching?" We may need to review back and ask that ourselves in what we do actually believe and teach today. Just a thought.

Rod does a great job , his fact checking is always backed by references.
I was sad to hear Piper tell this story, it portrays a miserable life that lacks understanding of God's Love.
I really do not understand why Calvinest are so bitter against all people who believe in the full Gosple.
Prosperity Gospel and Word of Faith is a marketing idea, for their sermons and movies, as well conference's.
People on Television provide the fuel often times.
They do not go after other Word of Faith teachers like Womack for example.
They exploit the outragous things of Benny Hinn a lot.
Sound bites of Copeland and Olstine.
What is missing is our Preachers who are balanced in teaching.
They lay off of one's that would stand up for themselves.
We have solid Preachers who invite Word of Faith Preachers to their Church.
John Hagee is one, He bites back lol.
I believe it is the Goal of most of us to move to Center without compromising
Our core beliefs.
We need more Gospel being taught on Television, without remorse for our doctrine on Healing, Prosperty , Belivers Authority, and knowing our Lord on a personal level.
Paul said let all things be done decently and in order.
We have so much more in God's love , than the others who hate us.
We can overcome them with love.
Our love must be rooted in Christ, because if you look at our critics you have to ask them if they know why Christ died in the first place.
I was jumped on Facebook because a Justin Peters clip was shared on my page.
Odd so many did not understand what he is actually teaching.
The ones that do call you names lol.
Pray for those who hate us, that their understanding be perfected by The Holy Spirit.
Rod has the guts to call them out, the least we can do is like his Work and share it.

I listened to 12 minutes of the video. and I agree with him. The problem is there will always be people that don't like the Bible and will talk against it. Just keep preaching the Word of God 2 Timothy 4:2 and share what He has done for us James 3:13-18. As we love others we will win some for Christ. Galatians 5:6

One of the main things you may consider is in the title and the people interviewed , was a slander of the Word of Faith Movement.
In doing this many false statements were made.
The creator of this movie grew up in a home where his Parents followed Benny Hinn.
He was forced to go to the meetings,and became bitter over it.
The five hundred pound Gorrilla in the room, is Benny Hinn does not claim to be Word of Faith.
As to the background info presented as to the origins of Word of Faith, they lied.
EW Kenyon was a Free Will Baptist Minister, He was not involved in Mystism.
Kenyon rebuked it.
As far as Dad Hagin plagerized Kenyon not true.
He references Kenyon in his books and some preaching ,but had permission to do so.
God Bless you, you always have a Free Will right to like or un like us
But at least the truth needs to be told ,about what Critics are accusing us of.

The movie was really about the gospel and I feel it was more about getting that point across, hence the name.

Because many of these people are on television, people think that this is what Christianity is. I think it was a correction to that.

That’s your opinion but I heard very little Calvinistic doctrine and I know Calvinism and do not believe it.

So, I would have spotted it.

Just because people who ARE Calvinists appeared in the movie, does NOT prove that Calvinistic doctrine was heavily portrayed.

Why don’t you give EXACT examples and the minute in the movie it happens.

Is the Word of Faith Movement to which I am a part of, based on God's inerrant word or a few individual humans?

Of course I think we all agree you could have a Word of Faith individual say something not totally accurate with scripture but generally speaking all the basic Word of Faith teaching changed my life for the better.

I agree people who make light of Word of Faith will be held accountable and I've often thought even for such brethren who will still make heaven their home I think what a sad thing to have on one's consciousness for eternity that they actually were a hindrance to the Kingdom of God and not a blessing. I think a sad thing to hear Jesus say Yes you'll make heaven your home but because of your actions this person and that one continued to live in defeat. They believed your nonsense that what I said wasn't true. That would be so very sad to hear.

First of all I didn't use the word "success". It's just that the word success is a buzz term used by many in talking about only low level type of things as in financial material well doing. I said VICTORY which the more you KNOW God and are in fellowship with him one's spirit is brought more into the full measure of liberty.
