Charismatic's are under fire along with Word of Faith.
A movie called American Gospel has taken the worst of sound bites from a small group of Televangelist, some WOF and some not.
Word of Faith is not what televangelist portray at times.
We came from the Charismatic believers and at our majority differ little from
you.
This movie will have more like it to come, and it will be aimed at full Gosple believers.
Here is a link to a Apolgetics site, my hopes are you here out what is being said rather than dismissing it as Word of Faith.

Hello now faith.

IMO it is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man. We should be talking about the Lord and the Word of God, rather than talking about some of the controversial persons mentioned in the video and their odd teachings and lifestyles- if we focus on these 'televangelists' the enemy has already won, we should instead be talking about the word of God. What fault did we find in the Holy and Pure Word of God that we turned to the polluted stream of some of these characters? Even if what they say is 99% accurate, even if they are right 99% of the time they lose, I can show you something that is 100% accurate, someone who speaks the truth 100% of the time:

"Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him" (Proverbs 30:5)

God Bless :)

I think about those who are young in Christ , who need to be mentored in the reading of God's Word.
So many base their beliefs on what they hear, rather than study for themselves.
I totally agree we should stay in God's Word for His truth.
Not all even understand what is being taught, and my hopes is that sinners be
Given the real Gosple .
What if this said American Gosple and it gave the univerisalist perspective?
If one person is lost, I can not imagine the tragic thought of eternity separated from God.
Church congregation numbers are going down, if we do not stand who will?
God Bless and thank you for allowing my zeal

 Agreed.

Hello now faith! Thanks for your interesting and timely post.

I think one of the missing components from some segments of the church at the moment is preaching on repentance and regeneration. Spirit-filled believers talk about the gifts of the Holy Spirit too easily. These things are fragile and powerful, handle with care. Repentance, regeneration, then times of refreshing come from the Lord. Speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance in his time for his purpose, not ours.

Too often I think unregenerate, unrepentant sinners are taught seemingly exciting manifestations- speak in tongues, be slain in the Spirit and prophesy. Often times all that the church is doing is getting unbelievers to babble, lie on the floor and make stuff up, giving ammunition to so called 'Cessationists'. In Matthew 7 Jesus talks about people who thought they manifested the gifts but were unregenerate, he never knew them!

First the repentance, the regeneration, then the explosion. When we're on God's terms, not on our own. Preaching the gospel, on sin and righteousness sorts people out, the hungry stay, the unregenerate run away.

God Bless :)

You hit the nail on the head!
We are on God's terms, His timing, His Spirit, and His Word.
I do not know what the differences are between Word of Faith and Charismatic.
I do understand a dislike for Televangelist, but I believe some are sincere, and some are in the flesh.
It's not what they have as far as jets and money that bothers me.
If you can be well off and put God first then have a ball.
If you can have great Faith for healing then goody ( Shambach)
For a completely different doctrine to come to the rescue , I have to ask are they teaching sincerity or another Gosple?
Being Raised Baptist , I'm not up on the differences in Charismatic's.
I know this , the Whole Bible is truth nothing has changed since Christ
Ascended on high, the only predestination that is Gosple is Christ since the beginning was our redemption for good from sin.
Still some have the free will to turn back.
And bless God for allowing us to come to Him in true Faith.
And bless God for giving us The Holy Spirit to be our guide.

I think people would be amazed that:

Word of Faith
Assemblies of God
Church of the Foursquare
Church of God

and many other non denominational churches all have the exact same doctrinal stance.

Very simular, there are differences but not deal breakers.
I attend a non denomational Church, full Gospel Believers.

Sometimes churches put out a standard statement of beliefs. To find out the nitty gritty of what they actually believe you would delve more into what they teach and practice. God Bless :)

That would depend on dogma, more than Denomation

Hello. The fact that they live a champagne and private jet lifestyle off the backs of the needy and vulnerable is a concern in my opinion. But it is the anti-Christian teachings that many of them express that reveals them as being outside the Kingdom.

As Peter said "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!" (Acts 8:20)

I myself have heard televangelists linking God's blessing, God's healing to how much money people send in to their 'ministry'.

God Bless :)

I detest begging for money, the going off the air bit.
The infomercial about how much you get when you sow into their harvest.
What you may or may not know is that we agree, on many things.
Who does not dislike crooked snake oil salesmen?
Where we may differ is the people who make a ministry, against the obvious.
They obsess over saving their flock from people who can choose for themselves who to enjoy and who not to.
You do not need a constant drummer that is a liar.
Let me qualify :
When you broadcast misinformation about someone , you are lieing.
Pick your poison.
What most people should be concerned with is the lack of fact checking, in these gossip talks.
People put up the most outrageous Televangelist, then link them
to who ever they want to bash at that time.
The irony is the same critics ,are making bankroll themselves.
People love to hate and they love gossip.
Who among us does not exploit the poor?
Our clothes are made in sweat shops overseas, the people work mega hours to satisfy our vanity, even our shoes on our feet.
People who give to ministries obviously do not care how big the Preachers house is.
Consider that large givers are not broke themselves.
What was the point of Christ saying the widow who gave Her last mite, gave more than them all?
To deny or try to police what go's into ministry, is not our business it's God's Business.
I wish know it all oh so humble people would quit accusing what they know nothing about.
As Christians most of us give alms to the poor.
Do we put condition on what we give?
Some do, and it's not our calling to do so.
There are ministries who by satellite have brought the Gospel to untold millions.
Yet they are gathered just like criminals
and put in the same place. If a Preacher makes millions selling books, how is that different from our Jobs?
We could work in s Church office, do we work for free and beg on weekends?
In the time of Christ some had more than others, the poor we will always have.
Many roads take a person to welfare and not all are honorable.
I work because I can, some are disabled , God Bless and heal them.
Until then let them collect on the money they already paid into.
Some will never work and want a Socialist economy.
They are putting Faith in a failed system rather than God.
Since the beginning this world has run on a monatary system , one day God will Judge, soon I hope.

Yes indeed, we do.

Regarding the Televangelists I just feel that those who represent God, especially on a world stage should hold themselves to a high standard, Christ's ambassadors should avoid even the appearance of wrong doing. The money thing is one problem with them, the rich fleecing the poor. But it's also the false gospel that many of them preach. Turn on a Christian TV channel like TBN and chances are you will soon hear something that directly contradicts scripture.

Ephesians 1:3 tells us to bless the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

If every Spiritual blessing is given in Christ then there is no extra spiritual blessing to be had in 'sowing a financial seed'.

God Bless :)

Yes , there are two sides of the Word of Faith Movement, I agree the seed harvest teaching has flaws.
The Parable of the Sower , is about God's Word.
You can know God's will for your life by His Word.
There is a qualifier in this Passage:

John 15: 6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. 11. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

You will not ask anything out of the will of God, you abide in the love of Christ, and His Word in you ,guides you through this World.
I believe in Prosperity , and it's not a bad thing.
Yet the cares of this World can make all of its Gold useless.
When trouble comes , prayer and a foundation in God's Word will not be about prosperity.
Many conservative Word of Faith People know it's about God's Word , we are promised our needs will be met and beyond.
So many never move off of wealth in their teaching.
Teaching that breaking the curse of poverty is a good thing, it empowers the believer that God knows our need, He has not left us as beggars.
We must know God never forsakes us, He is with us in the firey trials.
There will be trials in this life,we are not promised Heaven on Earth.
When you think your Child being grown has completely lost their mind, you learn about truly abiding in God's love.
The Midas Touch by Kenneth Hagin is a good teaching on how we are to approach our finances.
As Paul said:

Philippians 4: 12. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

God Bless

All Men in the pulpit fall short at times.
I like a certain Baptist Preacher, He reminds me of my own Dad at times.
I was so taken back by the depth of his message through most of it.
Then just out of nowhere He said one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.
I do not know why,it was out of context of the teaching.
Will I listen to him again yes, God knows I have said stupid things I'm no better.
If He would continually make big mistakes, well I would move on.
Word of Faith Preachers are no different, people who teach the full Gosple are very well versed.
The Bapist Preacher I like teaches all but one precept of the full Gospel.
He does not remove Schripture to support his Denomation.
I have heard Him say : I don't care if they take Baptist off the sign , I have to go by this Word.
I can respect that.
I can forgive a mistake.
Christ is the Head of the Church ,Preachers are humble servants.
If there is a problem with Televangelist, I would say it's pride.
Many Cessionest and full Gospel Preachers Have been smitten by their ministry growing ,and their pride right along with it.
