Christ was rebuked by the abusers of religion of His own time for being a "friend of sinners". And we are told that no servant is greater than his master, if they did it to Him they will do it to us.

It is just unfortunate that today the abusers of religion are very often those who call themselves by the precious and sacred name of Jesus Christ.

I did not say I disagree. I want to make a point that we, as the church, should NOT tolerate these people professed in Christ name only but still keep or refuse to repent of their sins. For example, fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. We have the authority to judge their sin to ensure that they recognize their sin and repent from it or get out. They can't stay in the church for the sake of fellowship and love. But sadly today, more and more church are doing this under the guise of "humanism Christianity". More and more church are becoming more apostate every day this way.

But don't you believe that it's God's place to convict someone's heart?
I mean, according to what I understand from the above passage, we walk away
from fellowship with those who SAY they're a brother, but want to also say they're a drunk/ wife beater/ adultress/ theif etc.
So.. my only job is to walk away and maybe go fight for them on my knees?
But (and the reason i walked from your question lol) is it my place to try to change
someones thinking?
