According to a recent poll, a shocking number of democrats believe it is actually racist to criticize a "politician of color".

Poll: A Third Of Democrats Believe It’s Racist To Criticize Politicians Of Color

A new poll suggests that nearly one third of Democrats believe white politicians who criticize politicians of color are racist.

Rasmussen conducted the survey with 1,000 registered voters between July 15-16th. The survey found that 32% of Democrats agree that it is racist for any white politician to criticize the political views of politician of color.

This is fascinating on so many levels. America is the least racist country in all of history. We truly live in a blessed time, just as MKL hoped for. Yet we have people who think like this. Amazing.

I've never seen any group strive harder to accuse innocent people of racism. To me this is worse than racism, as it includes bearing false witness, which made the top ten.

Not a sure thing. But "somewhat likely" is what they are thinking.

The similarities between Donald Trump and MLK Jr. aren't sweet ones. I mean King wrote the famous “Letter From Birmingham Jail.” Many of Trump’s former advisers are in prison. King was stabbed, stoned, firebombed, shot, while Trump whinges that no politician in history has been treated worse than he. King opposed the Vietnam War. Trump dodged the war & said that avoiding STDs were his personal Vietnam. King won a Nobel Peace Prize, like President Obama. Trump's only tie to Scandinavia in that regard is he wants more people from Norway instead of from blank-hole countries. MLK believed in nonviolence, Trump actively encourages violence. He relishes it.

King said that there is “nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” You're totally right that that doesn't describe Democrats at all.

LOL. Let's just say both Trump and MLK stumbled in many of the same areas, and leave it at that. Both were unfairly targeted by their government. Both falsely accused of sexual assault. Trump is definitely the worst treated politician in history. King was not a politician, but definitely treated worse. Both apposed the Vietnam war. Both deserved the Nobel peace prize (unlike Obama who did nothing), but only King got it. Both believe in non-violence in the midst of extreme violence against them. Dems were mad Trump didn't attack Iran. Trump and his supporters always show restraint unlike the Antifa supporting left. And both believed illegal immigration hurts black Americans. Both men love(d) America and push(ed) for unity among the races.

So yeah, lot of similarities. Very easy to see why Alveda King loves Trump.

He and Trump would have loved each other. I know Trump loves MLK and honors him.

Are you talking about the real Martin Luther King, or the impotent make-believe fantasy King who never said anything except "I have a dream"?

"But even if it were not present, I would yet have to live with the meaning of my commitment to the ministry of Jesus Christ. To me, the relationship of this ministry to the making of peace is so obvious that I sometimes marvel at those who ask me why I am speaking against the war. Could it be that they do not know that the Good News was meant for all men—for communist and capitalist, for their children and ours, for black and for white, for revolutionary and conservative? Have they forgotten that my ministry is in obedience to the one who loved his enemies so fully that he died for them? What then can I say to the Vietcong or to Castro or to Mao as a faithful minister of this one? Can I threaten them with death or must I not share with them my life?

Finally, as I try to explain for you and for myself the road that leads from Montgomery to this place, I would have offered all that was most valid if I simply said that I must be true to my conviction that I share with all men the calling to be a son of the living God. Beyond the calling of race or nation or creed is this vocation of sonship and brotherhood. Because I believe that the Father is deeply concerned, especially for His suffering and helpless and outcast children, I come tonight to speak for them. This I believe to be the privilege and the burden of all of us who deem ourselves bound by allegiances and loyalties which are broader and deeper than nationalism and which go beyond our nation’s self-defined goals and positions. We are called to speak for the weak, for the voiceless, for the victims of our nation, for those it calls “enemy,” for no document from human hands can make these humans any less our brothers.
" - "Beyond Vietname", Martin Luther King, Jr, April 4, 1967

"I had hoped that the white moderate would see this need. Perhaps I was too optimistic; perhaps I expected too much. I suppose I should have realized that few members of the oppressor race can understand the deep groans and passionate yearnings of the oppressed race, and still fewer have the vision to see that injustice must be rooted out by strong, persistent and determined action. I am thankful, however, that some of our white brothers in the South have grasped the meaning of this social revolution and committed themselves to it. They are still too few in quantity, but they are big in quality. Some-such as Ralph McGill, Lillian Smith, Harry Golden, James McBride Dabbs, Ann Braden and Sarah Patton Boyle---have written about our struggle in eloquent and prophetic terms. Others have marched with us down nameless streets of the South. They have languished in filthy, roach-infested jails, suffering the abuse and brutality of policemen who view them as "dirty n*gg*r lovers." Unlike so many of their moderate brothers and sisters, they have recognized the urgency of the moment and sensed the need for powerful "action" antidotes to combat the disease of segregation." - Letter from Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King, Jr, April 16, 1963

"When the man in the parable knocked on his friend’s door and asked for the three loaves of bread, he received the impatient retort, "Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything." How often have men experienced a similar disappointment when at midnight they knock on the door of the church. Millions of Africans, patiently knocking on the door of the Christian church where they seek the bread of social justice, have either been altogether ignored or told to wait until later, which almost always means never. Millions of American Negroes, starving for the want of the bread of freedom, have knocked again and again on the door of so-called white churches, but they have usually been greeted by a cold indifference or a blatant hypocrisy. Even the white religious leaders, who have a heartfelt desire to open the door and provide the bread, are often more cautious than courageous and more prone to follow the expedient than the ethical path. One of the shameful tragedies of history is that the very institution which should remove man from the midnight of racial segregation participates in creating and perpetuating the midnight.

In the terrible midnight of war men have knocked on the door of the church to ask for the bread of peace, but the church has often disappointed them. What more pathetically reveals the irrelevancy of the church in present-day world affairs than its witness regarding war? In a world gone mad with arms buildups, chauvinistic passions, and imperialistic exploitation, the church has either endorsed these activities or remained appallingly silent. During the last two world wars, national churches even functioned as the ready lackeys of the state, sprinkling holy water upon the battleships and joining the mighty armies in singing, "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." A weary world, pleading desperately for peace, has often found the church morally sanctioning war.

And those who have gone to the church to seek the bread of economic justice have been left in the frustrating midnight of economic privation. In many instances the church has so aligned itself with the privileged classes and so defended the status quo that it has been unwilling to answer the knock at midnight. The Greek Church in Russia allied itself with the status quo and became so inextricably bound to the despotic czarist regime that it became impossible to be rid of the corrupt political and social system without being rid of the church. Such is the fate of every ecclesiastical organization that allies itself with things-as-they-are.

The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority. If the church does not participate actively in the struggle for peace and for economic and racial justice, it will forfeit the loyalty of millions and cause men everywhere to say that it has atrophied its will. But if the church will free itself from the shackles of a deadening status quo, and, recovering its great historic mission, will speak and act fearlessly and insistently in terms of justice and peace, it will enkindle the imagination of mankind and fire the souls of men, imbuing them with a glowing and ardent love for truth, justice, and peace. Men far and near will know the church as a great fellowship of love that provides light and bread for lonely travelers at midnight.

"Go back to the country you came from" is one of the oldest racial / ethnic slurs there is. ...

On its own, in a vacuum yes. But context changes everything. There was just a migrant calling into Levine today, saying how he's told his fellow migrants who spew hatred against America that they should leave. He was a proud migrant who loved the country. He told them flat out, you hate this country, you should go back to the country you love. We all should do that. Hate America, you can leave. There's the door, you're free to go. Zero racism in that.

The context makes it worse instead of mitigating Trump's racist tweets. It's not just racist it's so stupid and so hypocritical. Trump's totally bashed the US publicly & repeatedly. His whole slogan is built on the idea that America isn't great, so he's gonna be the one to make it great. Criticism doesn't = hatred. It's just puerile to claim that it does.

Where exactly should the 3 Congresswomen born and raised in the United States go back to? I mean AOC was born in a borough of NYC just like Donald Trump was. So he wants her to go back to where he came from?

Trump is one of the worst behaved politicians in American history. He's also prone to whimpering that he's been the victim of injustice when he's merely been criticized for that terrible behavior.

Apposed?

You think TRUMP believes in nonviolence? LOL. Unless you're referring to another Trump, maybe a niece or something since you've mentioned MLK Jr's niece. Two of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Children Speak Out Against Trump

As the nation paid tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., some of his relatives sharply criticized President Trump on Monday over his outlook on race and its effect on the country nearly half a century after Dr. King’s death.

“Our collective voice in this hour must always be louder than the voice of one who may speak sometimes representing these United States, whose words sometimes do not reflect that legacy of my father,” the Rev. Bernice King, Dr. King’s youngest child, said at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.

Addressing the congregation where her father was a co-pastor between 1960 and 1968, Ms. King added, “We cannot allow the nations of the world to embrace the words that come from our president as a reflection of the true spirit of America.”

This was in response to other racist comments of Trump, which we're not even allowed to repeat on here because he was so profane.

What Trump said wasn't half as bad as the other racist comments of Obama, which we're not even allowed to repeat on here because he was so profane.

Years ago I'd posted about narrative bubbles and anti-intellectualism on the left....people acted like I was, at best, exaggerating.

This is a result of some very racist concepts floating around parts of the left. In particular...

1. White fragility. The idea that whites unable to accept how racist they are and deny it, are weak. The whites who accept it and ask non-whites how they can fix it, are strong.

2. Whitesplaining. The idea that if a white person disagrees with a non-white on an issue of race....they are automatically wrong. Being non-white endows one with the ability to be correct on racial issues....by virtue of their race.

Hidden behind both concepts is a definition of racism based upon "power" (and the idea that whites automatically have it, and non-whites don't) wherein only the "powerful" can truly be racist.

The result? A group of people who judge ideas not by their merits, but by the race of the person presenting the idea.

Point me in the general direction of these “racist comments by Obama” and please, no circa 2009 from Glenn Beck, thanks!

So what is wrong with the people of color that THEY still feel racism. Do you think we white people have failed to explain to them that they are really in great shape.

It's going to be a tough sell, I should think. I mean look at drug arrests. Black people are arrested and jailed at higher rates than whites yet by pretty much ever metric whites use illegal drugs at the same rate!

Very few drug related arrests are for "use"....most are for possession or sale.

I agree that people should be able to criticize others without it being taken as racist if it is merely a policy difference.

What about disagreement on a racial issue?

I don't know about least racist....but to those international organizations that measure such things, it's definitely one of the least racist.

I tried to find the question that was asked. Without knowing that, I can't form much of an opinion. It is amazingly easy to word survey questions to get the desired results.

You think Rasmussen fudged the survey?

My gut check says that it doesn't sound right, and it's very easy to word a question so that the respondent reads it in a different way than it was intended (intentionally or not). Therefore, I'm unable to form an opinion on the survey results without seeing the survey question. It may be accurate, Rasmussen may have intentionally worded the question to be misleading, or they may have done so on accident. It would also be good to see the sample info - the total sample size was 1000, but it doesn't say how many were Democrats or what their demographics were. As I've said before, I work in the polling/survey industry, so these are things that I'm conscious of.

I typed allot then.. .its not going to go anywhere. Well we ALL are on the internet. Some are going to keep talking as if they blind. How do you talk to wall? As of late I have watched some people say somethings. I then watched others take what that person said and looked up each one. Each thing that person said they lied about. And its ok. I go back and look read listen to what some have been saying. Not last week but over the months.

I find some news networks say nothing. I have read where some people that cross the border as of just this MAY killed some Americans. No one on some net works said one word. As if it never happen. I read as of Mar 2019 the Minnesota Democrat dogged by allegations of anti-Semitism, told Muslims in a speech Saturday to “raise hell” and “make people uncomfortable” in defense of their rights."

That which I just posted.. bothers me. Yet.. no one talked about it. I watch someone of power talk about the border. They out right lied. And some networks never said a word. I have watched some person try to kill destroy something. Do you know really how many never batted a eye?

On a net work the words were something like "judge them on there actions what they do. Not what they say". That person has NOT kept their own word. Trump says he didnt like what happen in that Rally. How was he treated for it? As the right said. No matter what Trump does they will make fun of him.

I can't speak for anyone else and ALL my life I WILL NOT be like follow others. I am NOT like you! Jesus Christ gave me life. He gave His life for me. I don't care if its TRUMP or OMAR! I can find FAULTS. But they are not where this battle is. If I focus on them.. pick a SIDE so to speak.. well I am not in the battle then. There is a ENEMY that wants this NATION to fall. I listened to Collages chant "no borders no walls no USA at all" <--not ONE was republican. I have listened to watch SO many in Congress preach say the SAME things Trump is saying NOW.. yet all now fight it because TRUMP says it.

I can still see the Actors standing on the map of the USA..you know them John Wayne and so many others singing about this NATION how GREAT it is! MANY songs they sang. Sorry whats changed? You can't even ware a red hat that says make america great. A shoe maker has to stop selling shows that just had colors and circle with Stars.

"Dems to strike 'so help you God' from oath taken in front.."<--this scares me.

Please.. we know lol how Trump is. His mouth his ways.. EVERYTHING he does.. NO ONE has ever done it better. But if you know your Father. He does NOT give you what you want some times..but what you need. And this nation needed this. I like all the jobs.. I like the Stock Market. I like N Korea no more rockets. I like China for the 1st time.. not taking from us. And my wife is 1st get Chinese.. I have to walk softly there! :)

So.. I don't go after the PERSON. If they don't know Christ.. its easy. If they do.. I pray for wisdom. I pray for THEM not against them. GOD IS THE ANSWER! If its OMAR .. she needs JESUS just as much as if Trump was not saved...yeah he is. Hes one of those.. dont judge on what you see. Yet I always look at ME 1st. Father change me 1st. I Love this nation. I am PROUD to be here. Some of my family has served all there lives for her. (1st time I have ever told anyone)Never once used it for gain.

I will in a heart beat.. and have been around people from other nations just tear in to the USA.. living here. I have asked.. WHY are you still here then? Leave if you don't like it. DUH then they give every reason WHY its better :). Not once have I ever saw COLOR! Holy Jesus.. who sees color when they say that! ..Again I have listen to people months year..say things about this Naion.. that are awful.. yet NEVER brought up.. odd.

So if I offended.. forgive me. But.. the ones you see that you think are wrong bad.. PRAY for them. What if that was YOU? Would not YOU want those in the LIGHT to help? Be praying for you so that error you do say .. you can change? Love them.. see the good in them 1st

64% of America's surveyed also stated that Trump's tweets targeting the Democratic "squad of 4" were racially motivated, which is perhaps what motivated today's disingenuous attempts by the President to distance himself from his audience's "SEND HER BACK" chants last night!

Targeting 4 first term, visible minority female Democratic House members, exhorting them to "go back where they came from" is unprecedented behaviour for an American President - even conservatives should realize that such outbursts are beneath the dignity of the Office, the comments one might expect from the leader of a "banana republic!"

It is a stupid poll.
The questions are too general and it comes off as unscientific.

Now to criticize the policy position of a politician who is a person of color is one thing, and not racist. Telling four congresswomen to 'go back where they came from" certainly is.

Given that during Black History Month (February 2019) 75% of "Blacks," 60% of Hispanics and 45% of "Whites" polled all agree that racism in America has gotten worse under the Trump Administration, one wonders as to how "Calminian" could possibly come to the conclusion that "America is the least racist country in all of history" and that "We truly live in a blessed time, just as MKL hoped for?"

Yeah, since Trump was elected the left has been telling itself that racism has gotten worse. That poll doesn't surprise me because we now live in a world in which someone showing up on your lawn with a big sign that says "meanie bigot racist!" is taken as undoubtable proof that you are one.

Eventually this policy of "You're guilty when I feel like accusing you" is going to catch up with the folks who enjoy using it now, and they won't like it when that happens.
