I like 'How Great Thou Art.' I'd have to say that it's my favorite. The words are amazingly poetic and powerful, and it has wonderful, reverent music to accompany it.

O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made
I see the stars; I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee,
How great thou art! How great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee,
How great thou art! How great thou art!

When through the wood and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down from lofty mountains' grandeur
And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze

repeat chorus

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

repeat chorus

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home: What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim: My God, how great thou art!

repeat chorus

That's a great hymn, Jodrey. Our resident, Mr. Organist! :)

Other "great" hymns to me are:

His Name is Wonderful
Praise God from Whom All Blessings Fall
Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel (Christmas Hymn)

His Name is Wondeful -

"His name is Wonderful. His name is Wonderful, His name is Wonderful, Jesus my Lord."

"Bow down before Him, love and adore, Jesus my Lord."

"He's the great shepard, the rock of all ages, Almighty God is He."

Praise God from Whom All Blessing Fall -

Praise God from whom all blessings fall.
Praise Him all creatures hear below.
Praise Him above all heavenly hosts.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

I wish I knew all the words to "Oh, Come, Oh Come Emmanuel" but I don't. It has a very Jewish flavor to it and we start Advent with this song.

Hi all!

There's a Chasidic song about married life that I like. It goes:

Don't walk in front of me, I will not follow.
Don't walk behind me, I will not lead.
Just walk beside and be my friend
and together we will walk in the paths of the Lord.

I like that.

Be well!
