what's happening to Australia?
if things keep going like this I don't know how we will end up
it's bad enough at the moment

the media can't be trusted

look what happened to Margaret Court.........

The mainstream media is biased. It is an ally to left wing politicis especially ALP. Both are not friendly to Christianity.

The way this nation is moving is very disappointing. The media is saturated with anti-god attitudes, and politicians are following suite.

There are some really hopeful things at a grass roots level. There is a high number of people interested in building healthy community, in serving those in need, in justice and reconciliation. Those are all spaces where the Church is present and active and can involve people while sharing the good news.

We need to get our act together, respond appropriately to the sex abuse crisis (which we have barely begun to do), and make our public presence known for the right reasons, not for our authoritarianism, cruelty and arrogance.

Absolutely! I'm glad to see that the Catholic church is starting to take responsibility for sexual abuse happening in its ranks, and that George Pell has been jailed. Jesus was NOT an authoritarian, neither was he arrogant or cruel.

Well there are plenty of Anti ALP conservative media here in Australia such as from News Corp include The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, The Mercury, The Advertiser and The Courier-Mail. Sky News is also owned by News Corp. They are mainstream media too.

Also, there are reporters within Mainstream TV news sites that are conservative as well. I believe there are plenty of conservative media outlets in Australia.

As a Politics and Sociology PhD in my view you need to think about if there are strong Socialist undertones in the media, Socialism is really Capitalism AND big Government however not until the babyboomers are out of the loop will you see young Christians taking the lead, the ALP is taking a Socialist stance but Atheists are still holding the reigns, what's being identified is a "we decided" mindset from hedonistic older people that don't want God leading them, I may well be a Prophet of God yet I know I'm not perfect and God annoys me with His challenges yet I won't become part of the "we decided" set.

Well, before grieving Australia "going left," we might have to start with a bit of a definition of terms...
The Australian continent, being attached to a fast-moving tectonic plate, moves about 7 cm each year, in a northeasteasterly direction.

Viewed from the equator, that's to the left.

If the O.P. meant it in a political sense, I'd like to see data.

Huh?

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power."
