What is Donald trying to distract the American people from this time?

This is where things get fun for me. Nothing is 'hidden'. With images of raids on TV. The dems talking about death camps and inhumane conditions. The Dems are actualy keeping the illegals out, and scaring them back home. Then they prop up Trumps anti illegal immigration stance with a whole slew of propagandised horror stories that work in his favor.

Shouldn't be an issue. By sending back the illegals this frees up jobs that will get some folks off of Welfare/Food Stamps that excess should help pay to deport them.
But Americas have show they don't care about these jobs. And we don't have the money. They are lying to us.

So I'm curious as to why we are supposed to let those folks stay on Welfare/Food Stamps because they don't want to work? I'm tired of work myself but for some reason I continue to do so until I can retire for the second time, think I have the integrity bug.

Let's see I've worked picking fruit, refuse disposal, cook, salt delivery, stocking in a department store, hung sheetrock, roofing and HVAC. Some of those jobs were not the best paying jobs but they helped make ends meet and afforded me with experience. My best move was enlisting and getting a good occupation doing HVAC it helped my escape the poverty rat race and would do the same for others if they are willing to work/take instruction.

Ohh, it's working alright. The fear and spectacles made by the left concerning Concentration camps, death camps, etc, has grabbed hold of the illegals. The left is helping Trump, by scaring the living daylights out of illegal aliens. They don't want to come, and they don't want to stay, for fear of the liberal 'Trump spector' boogieman.

You think illegals are the only ones concerned about Donald's camps?

No, however it is little more than fearing suspicions and rumors. Literally... these camps are the 'fabled' Obama era "FEMA camps" people laughed at 'conspiracy nuts' about.

Fabled? Are you now claiming that Donald's camps don't really exist?

So the head of ICE says that they are preparing to potentially deport up to 1 million illegals....

Top immigration official says ICE is ready to deport 1 million undocumented immigrants

To be clear, this is a pool of people who have had their day in court and ordered removed. If they sought asylum, they have been denied by a judge. If they sought legal status, they have been denied.

They have had their day in court, although there's plenty of reason to believe they never showed up for it.

Thoughts?

Shrug?

These people have gone through the appropriate channels, and found not to have a case (whether the system is biased against their case is another question for another thread).

They've had their opportunity, and face the legal consequences of their own actions.

They question I have is: how will ICE actually carry this out?

The record for deportations from the US in a 12 month period is just short of 400,000 individuals. If ICE wants to get a million people deported before (say) the end of Trump's first term of office, it would need to deport about 1801 people per day. That's a rate ~65% higher than the previous record. Given the levels of competence displayed at the upper echelons of the current administration for the last few years, I doubt that's a realistic goal.

Addendum.

Here are the most recent ICE annual deportations I can find:

FY2013 216,810
FY2014 177,960
FY2015 139,368
FY2016 138,669

That's a 4 year average of 168,200 per year.

So, ICE would need to raise their deportation rate by ~495% to deport 1 million people in a 12 month period, or by 370% to do it by the end of Trump's first term.

I never said people don't want to work. Most wont do what illegals will do. Some Americans have tried . But they cant keep up. And leave. Anyways illegals do way more than any American will. Also if illegals aren't doing it. Higher prices. Between this and Trumps tariffs ,all I see is inflation.

Change 'illegals' to 'blacks' this comment could come right out of the 1860's south. I do not see how using illegals as a cheap form of labor is even ethical. Are we to assume an illegals labor is not worth as much? It is fair compensation for them to earn less pay so we can have lower prices? Think about the implications of what you just posted.

Surprise, surprise -- It was all sizzle, no steak.

https://www.npr.org/2019/07/14/741653581/trumps-nationwide-immigration-raids-fail-to-materialize

President Trump's threatened roundup of undocumented immigrant families this weekend that sent migrants in many communities on edge showed few signs of materializing on Sunday, the second time rumors of a large-scale immigration enforcement operation failed to come to fruition.

Instead, in the cities where rumors of mass raids swirled, many immigrants stayed inside their homes, as jitters turned typically vibrant migrant markets and commercial corridors eerily quiet.

Immigrant advocates across the country, meanwhile, took to the streets to demonstrate in protest of the promised roundup.

Prediction: ICE will snag a few thousand, FoxBabeNews will cover it, Sinclair local stations will double down, Trump will lie about the numbers, claim he is shaking down Mexicans for Wall money and Democrats will all raise their hands at the next debate when asked how many think Trump is in his underwear when he Tweets.

At this point, the question is whether they ever intended to.
