Hmm... I knew it was coming, but didn't think it would come this soon. I think I'm one of the few people left who still buys CD's.
I am a bit surprised at the statistics with vinyl as well. I didn't know that it was growing that much in popularity. One of the links says that there was a 53% increase in vinyl sales in 2016.

Nearly 80% of teens in the new survey said they checked their phones hourly, and 72% said they felt the need to immediately respond to texts and social networking messages. Thirty-six percent of parents said they argued with their child daily about device use, and 77% of parents feel their children get distracted by their devices and don't pay attention when they are together at least a few times per week.
Terry Greenwald, a father of three grown children, works as a custodian at a high school in Homer, Alaska, and said the hallways are often half-filled with "teenage zombies who are glued to their phones."
They often walk near the walls so they can move from class to class without looking away from their screens, he said. "It gets interesting when they get to the stairways and the walls end for the stairway," he said. "They don't want to look up and they don't way to tumble down the stairs but often just slow way down and inch along until they reach the wall just past the opening.
The more that I observe people with cell phones, the more it worries me. I once thought that smart phones would be such a great technology to have. Now when I look around, I feel like it's given us a nation full of addicts. The levels which it is reaching are unbelievable to me.

For their entire lives from adolescence onward, everyone having a smart phone will have been the norm - and all that they have ever known. I for one am glad that I am not growing up in that generation.
The advancements in quantum computing in recent years is nothing short of incredible. I remember having a discussion about this not too long ago on Skype; it's like something out of a sci-fi film, but is actually happening. This would further developments in artificial intelligence and other fields, but could also have major drawbacks as well.
^It's only a matter of time until Google is broken up via anti-trust legislation. They are getting dangerous.
In other news, I learned of this site from the one and only Bill Gates. It's a new news site billed as positive news. Though, it's liberal in some instances, it does provide new interesting pieces.
I hope this leads to a new studio album. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I've always assumed that the reason why RATM have a hard time together is due to the lead singer's political views. IDK. He just seems like he would be a strange pain to deal with.
