So, you never have times when KJV comes across to you as mind-boggling?

A lot of the Bible is mind boggling, especially the mercy God has for us!

If you mean the language, I find it fine. If at anytime there is a word I'm not quite sure of then I will look it up.
I actually love the fact that it doesn't just sound like any other book ( as in everyday language) it is after all Gods Word:)

I can't get into any translation with "James" in the title. It is not just the vocabulary but sentence structure. So different from modern English way of talking. It is a real obstacle to understanding the Spirit of God.

Wrangler, I feel like I am not even reading English because of the totally different sentence structure. If it is not identical to the grammar rules I learned in school, it is not just confusing, but very badly written. A Bible must be very easy to understand the way it is written. Unless the language is modern English, it will never qualify as a readable Scriipture to all English readers.

And because of that, many people who are fans of the KJV don't actually understand what it's saying.

So why do they even read the KJV?

Because if they even attempt to read any other translation, they'll open themselves up to demonic influence or even possession!

The KJV is authorized by God. God watches over His word to do what He says He is going to do. Isa 55:11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." If we want to better understand the Bible then we need to study the original language and Ancient Hebrew if possible. If we do not know Hebrew then we are not going to fully understand the Bible.

Joshua, nothing in that verse even remotely implies there is only one accurate version of the Bible and all of us are obligated to read the KJV alone.
Do you believe other translations carry the full authority of God, or do you believe only the original language is fully authorized by God? Clearly a lot is lost in the translation. So to say any translation carries the full authority of God is a bit of a stretch. The KJV ONLY belief seems to have a lot of support.

If only the the original language is fully authorized, that rules out the KJV because it is English. So why is one English version better than all others?

God made all languages. Remember the Tower of Babel? Obviously He does not want everyone to read or write Hebrew. So it would make no sense for only God's original language to be the correct version.

Many are called, few are chosen. I believe more people should study the Ancient Hebrew so that we can better understand the Bible. There are words in the Bible that we can better understand when we study the Hebrew Letters that make up those words.

God made all languages. Remember the Tower of Babel?
All of the languages at Babel came from the Hebrew Language.

Joshua, how does that make reading the NIV and other modern English versions bad?
I never said they were bad. I quote the NIV all the time. In Bible school we are taught that they have value as a Bible commentary. Often they are paraphrased and not a translation. I am just talking about the promises of God should be read using the KJV. This is the only English translation that has the full authority of God. It does not look like I have any evidence for this belief, so I guess it is just my opinion.
